Not surprisingly Millwall fans have some interesting and controversial takes on it. https://millwallonline.com/forum/threads/how-much-lower-can-that-club-across-the-water-go.58634/ Amusing

And years ago, both Mick Channon and Alan Ball.

Not sure this will have that much effect on West Ham though. Isn’t the real power there with the Czech bloke (owns the Post Office), rather than Sullivan?

Serious historic allegations mentioned. https://news.sky.com/story/david-sullivan-steps-down-as-west-ham-joint-chair-after-serious-historic-allegations-13551367 Hard to believe that of a man of his integrity who made his millions in the ‘adult entertainment’ industry. But perhaps the scandal will bring the dildodome stadium crashing down around him. Wonder if Gibbo will look to start another moral crusade.

Where have I read that before about Moyes ? Perhaps there might be other loan options from them (that might be in the back of Dragan’s mind). Not so sure myself, but if anyone can bring the best out of a player, Tonda can.

Until we know what is going to happen with Stewart this thread seems premature.

Hope Scienza’s best man didn’t waste his time taking the piss out of THB in the speeches
-
Would have thought we’d be looking to push two of them (BBD and Downs) out of the door

Matsuki is an interesting one. He brings something when he’s involved, but hasn’t really shown or nailed his position. I’m not sure it’s as a wide player although he has performed there, second striker (bit too hipster phrase for me - whatever that is), or midfield.

Thanks. Interesting, seems an off the bench or rotation option with Fellows. Presumably and assuming they stay: Scienza/Edozie on the right, Fellows/Carreras(or another) on the left

Googled and found this: https://lagrada.org/southampton-jofre-carreras-espanyol-fichaje-mercado-cazurreando/ Haven’t looked to translate it yet.

Weren’t we also linked with Tolaj at Plymouth?
-
Bit of a conflict in your descriptions of him perhaps even if both agree on his potential. If you’re talking of Millwall strikers, Coburn looked pretty useful, and might have displaced Ivanovic towards the end of the season. Reading about them reports say Millwall paid £2.8m and £5m. Goes to show there is some quality available in some markets. But not £5m+ on Damion Downs.
-
Not sure either are. Larin with a full summer of Saints prep under Tonda might be a different proposition.
-
Could spectacularly rebound on him
-
Not knowing which division you’re going to be in seems a sound reason to me. How do you pitch the salary proposal without knowing that ?
-
Being booted out of the play off final after allegations of spying, probably wasn’t up there in the risks to guard against. I don’t fault the club in this. They couldn’t have foreseen things developing as they did, and before the play off final the club wouldn’t have known which league they’d be playing in next season to pitch the contract offer. Perhaps as someone said, the drafting of the contract term is at fault from three years ago.

Dragan Šolak interviews with BBC and Daily Echo (June 5, 2026)
Badger replied to CSA96's topic in The Saints
Interesting that one article says the interview was at his golf course, in Bled, Slovenia. Looked it up, it’s one of the top 100 courses in the world. Looks pretty spectacular, article saying Dragan bought it for £9m in 2013. https://www.royalbled.com Looks impressive and pisses on the pitch and put at Rockliffe. -

Good interview, I’d feel a lot more confident in the club management if Solak is closely involved and monitoring things. -
Just don't spend 3 months chasing Spersians (sp?) shadow again and being pissed about

or Baz

Delighted to say he easily surpassed Carillo in the pantheon of Great Saints strikers, probably with his first touch of the ball vWatford. Good news he's coming back. As someone above said, a full summer training and he should be firing next season.
-
I half expected Coventry to come in for him. Talking to some of their fans away they thought Lampard had spoken really highly of him, enough to be one to watch if they got up.
-
I can’t wait to see him scoring a few in the upcoming World Soccerball Super Bowl events in the next few weeks. This kid could be full of confidence when he comes back and a different player. Wonder at what point of the games Poch will take him from the roster and unleash him on the world
