Not a fan of the first two, but have seen very little of note re Wellington. Several have said he reminds them of Bertrand, but apart from a slight resemblance in appearance I don’t see it (yet).
-
He probably wants to convince the club and fans to consume vegan mars bars deep fried only in vegetable oil before he tackles that one.
-
Possibly. But I’ve yet to see or hear a good reason why black lettering on the red/white back of the shirt doesn’t stand out.
-
Can we sell him now as he’s clearly on a run of form - one goal in his last one game - and has probably peaked for the season ?
-
From Gao, Semmens onwards it’s been this way it seems. Only time will tell if Spors has changed it, but it’ll take a few decent signings to make a difference now to convince me. So far, (Still, Downs, Quarshie) we seem on the same path.

I suspect Johansson would cost a fraction of the fee they’d want for Patterson.
-
Wasn’t Fernandes involved in an U21 tournament? No idea about Ramsdale, England squad ?
-
Good job Captain Jack is there to steady the nerves when the rest come up against the hostile Eastleigh crowd and roar. Looks like it’s set up for a different line up in the second half. Can’t make it today. Shame. Could have got the first “you don’t know what you’re doing” in after the multiple subs at HT. Let me know who bags that honour.

What I’ve seen of him (only clips on tv and YouTube) he looks like a player who is creative and likes to go forward. So not an RM type player. Not sure we’d be in for him whilst we have Dibling and Fernandes. I expect he’ll have better offers than Championship, or that he and his Dad will think such a move is beneath where he should be.

Two questions on this, isn’t there still an embargo on doing business with Russian clubs? And would we get a work permit for him ?
-
The Doris on the right gets my vote if and when Ramsdale leaves.
-
The only thing I’ve read about him is that Celtic were following him and bidding last January.
-
Niemi or Golac for me.
-
Okay, thanks. No real surprise. I suppose it hinges on whether he wants to leave (for the sake of leaving, which might mean Sunderland or the like), or leaving for somewhere he wants (perhaps West Ham or similar). Can’t blame him for wanting out, just hope* it’s sorted quickly at at the right £ * and that we don’t think Bazunu should step back in
-
Don’t worry, he’ll get out of Sheff Weds in a few weeks if not before, and if we don’t get off to a flyer ( and especially if we don’t beat Pompey in September) his name will remain in the background.
-
I must have missed this, but what news has there been other than a media link to Sunderland ?
-
Agree but problem is that circumstances can change rapidly. For example: 7th August - Ramsdale says he’s not looking to leave, and will definitely stay the season 25th August (date taken at random) - Pickford (again at random) announced as having broken his leg, probably out for season. 26th August - Everton make bid… Where would that leave everyone?
-
Don’t even joke about it !
-
Okay, that’s promising then.
-
At least Spors won’t have sky blue City tinted specs on like Wilcox (and Lego)
-
Can’t imagine a Belgian club offering a decent fee for him.
-
Be great if Ramsdale stays, but if the club are seeking to agree something with him then ideally I hope it can be agreed by a certain date (early August) by player and club. If he’s intending to bugger off then earlier the better to bring in a replacement. Unfortunately no matter how well intended there’s always the risk that injury to a Prem GK may lead to an unwanted bid and his head being turned near the end of the window. Whatever else, please let’s not go into next season with Bazunu anywhere near the first team.
-
A few notable differences though when we went into L1. We had a new owner and CEO who were ambitious for the club, and intent on making their mark. Despite the interviews recently you don’t immediately read this from Spors, as much of an improvement that he seems to be. We bought the best striker in the division, not an untried 19 year old for the future We also brought in a manager who was above the level we were playing at, to give an immediate lift and a message on our ambition. Agree with what your saying.

We have some CB’s who might fall into the Cart Horse category as well.

Would prefer Johnannsen , who would probably cost less as well.
