I’ve never been a fan of the club crest. For me, it’s a bit cluttered and looks naff. Up until a few years ago I was all for change. Got to give Spors the benefit of the doubt, that he knows what he’s doing and is assembling his team to take us forward. That said, the brief background reading on a bloke with bank experience, and at Dorking, along with the other young one featured , Strapley or whatever his name ( who I think someone commented looked about 16 and yet to start shaving) doesn’t immediately inspire confidence and make you think we’re really going to hit the ground running.

Fear you are probably right about Rohl, but from his angle perfectly understandable that he’d want to be with his young family in Germany. Unless of course he secretly fell in love with Ocean Village etc when last here. I’m only aware of him walking out on Blackburn. Unless you count leaving non-league Kidderminster for Championship QPR as an assistant, which I think most might regard as a reasonable career step for a young coach. He was sacked at Birmingham so they could bring Rooney in.

His name was linked before RM was sacked. Certainly wouldn’t be a bad choice, but we’ve probably missed the boat on him. He made several noises about Derby, potential there, former player, family still in the midlands etc so probably wouldn’t be looking to move again.

Very fair point, and something I’d also thought about. Can’t help but feel this was a deal that could and should have been agreed over the last few months privately with him, and possibly it has been. Time will tell but very little confidence in SFC to get it right ( even acknowledging the point frequently made about ‘new regime’ etc).

You’d have hoped that if he was our preferred choice, ( and if reports that he was keen on the role were correct ) then we might have agreement in place (informally) to action it swiftly now Weds season is over. Agree that we’ve had months to sort this, I don’t believe Juric was anything other than a stopgap. Hoping that the new broom has been busy putting this in place, but on past performances at SFC, no surprise if we announce the search starts after the last ball is kicked.
