  1. Not just him though anymore is it ? We've got a team of Redmonds, weak feeble shortarses with little skill or willingness to take initiative.
  2. Are these c^nts playing with the intention of getting Ralph the sack ?
  3. Benteke .... sums up how shit we are when that donkey can score with ease.
  4. Agree. At one point he was talked of as potentially our best prospect coming through but looks to have been sidelined. I can't believe it's solely due to his 'moment' at Old Trafford, must be a bit of a knob in training for Ralph to have frozen him out.
  5. Just wonder how they'll fight off The Big 6 , and Bayern/Barcelona/ Madrid, and PSG to retain Jack Whatmough, the latest product to roll off their never ending conveyor belt of talent...
  6. The Accrrington GK Savin has been linked with us. If he does sign he's already more popular than FF or McCarthy.
  7. Why would Liverpool let him leave on loan ? Unless it's a deadline day 'get him off the payroll' - and I hope we don't leave our activity until then (again), I can't see it. If he's surplus to their requirements, I' imagine they will look to sell.
  8. At least the Skates have given us Saints fans something football related to enjoy in 2021. Wonder how high they stacked the pallets to see today's debacle.
  9. Careful. That's very unwoke of you. You'll have the Thought Police after you.
  10. Unfortunately the events of the last two seasons have created that mindset. Worryingly not just among the fans but possibly players as well. Similar to Saints under Strachan, we went from an enterprising attacking team to one that appeared to want to avoid a drubbing in the Cup Final.
  11. Looks more to me, from the phrasing in that article, that Stoke don't have to take the option of the loan.
  12. Not sure I like the sound of this bit: every chance we'll have all three of them sat around next season at this rate.
  13. Tragic news, especially at a young age. Felt sorry for him after joining us. Saw him paly for Swindon and he looked excellent, really making things spark for them playing a free role. On joining us he was given a wide and restricted role which prevented him from imposing himself on the game.
  14. I've never been keen on our badge but have come to fear what sort of abortion they could make of changing it, or as it might be termed "modernising" it. For that reason it might be best left alone.
  15. Agree with you about an experienced CB. Orban signed a contract extension with Leipzig a few weeks ago.
  16. Jim Steele as well, that well known member of the Temperance Society. Think we know how he spent his recreational hours. I remember reading something from Peter Osgood who said after his early training sessions a couple of the players started making mooing noises like cows in the dressing room. He soon realised this was Jim Steele's rallying cry for "everyone up The Cowherds".
  17. Think he's one of those players who might excel if he had others around him to do the donkey work for him. We don't have enough quality and especially muscle to carry him, although I think he could be a good squad player, which with our limited resources we probably don't want, and probably can't afford the luxury of him and Walcott. At £5m possibly worth it, but if Liverpool are holding out for £10m that they think they can recoup from an exchange with a Spanish club then doubtful.
  18. Fully deserves one. With a substantial pay rise as well. (But only if Les makes a return under a new owner).
  19. More nostalgia, including a run down on the team from Mick Channon: ITV managed to get the club crest wrong. Comment from Channon on one of the team buying car mags " ...whereas most players buy Penthouse or Mayflower ..."

Shame but not surprising given the news over the last couple of years. I thought he had something to offer and would develop into a decent squad player, even if he eventually dropped down a league. Recall him looking impressive going forward but like Targett a bit suspect defensively (think he was highlighted by the media for being out of position at San Siro for their goal for example). Impressed that as a younger player he was prepared to 'stand up' to the Inter 'theatricals' a couple of times at St Mary's in one of his earliest games for us, didn't hide away or crumble as some of our lot do now. Hope he makes a good career in coaching or whatever else he chooses.
  21. Both are capable of gaffes. Of the two McCarthy always seems more likely to pull off a decent reflex save, but then undoing it with a 'brain fart' moment. Would like to think they're competing to remain as a back up only, but given our limited funds that probably won't be the case.
  22. Bobby Stokes: Skates like to mention how they brought the FA Cup to The Dell in 1939 and were applauded by Saints fans. They overlook the heroes reception their residents gave to Bobby Stokes for scoring for us to win the Cup.
  23. Thought of this today. Great memory but sad also thinking back about some of those who were there that day and no longer with us (family, friends and even players, Bobby Stokes and Peter Osgood). Worth a watch again.
  24. Just done a quick Google search and translation and it appears to be after his contract with us. Taken from one translation: https://www.diepresse.com/5973761/hasenhuttl-denkt-uber-ende-der-trainerkarriere-nach
