  1. And a Gk. And another striker capable of scoring more than 4 a season.
  2. New agent of course, all part of the master plan to earn a move to a Top6 club.
  3. Not unexpected really, just reinforces the fact that the squad is poor, can't cope with a more physical opponent and mentally weak. Plus throw in goalkeeping errors for good measure. How may Gk's is that now who have proven unreliable ? I thought that was to come to an end when Watson was moved sideways and a new GK coach came in apparently not. Wedon'tsignsh!tkeepers;wecoachthemthatway#
  4. Wasn't it Cortese or in the Lowe era,?
  5. I'm not looking to make a case for the women commentators and analysts but they don't have a monoploy on cliches, and ridiculous phrases. Was it Hanson who coined the ridiculous "early doors" phrase ? And Atkinson or Venables came up with "do-able" ?
  6. Player who thinks he is better than he really is. Probably really feels he has reached the big time already with his new agent.

    Coronavirus

Rugby Union Six Nations Italy fixtures possibly cancelled or change venue. Cheltenham Festival also rumoured as under threat.
  8. May have been unpalatable hearing it, but more than an element of truth in it. In defence of our support what has been served up since Koeman left has been pretty shocking and some clubs would have kicked up a major fuss long before. Although it may not be Keowns place to say it, didn't Ralph allude to the support becoming restless at home in his pre-match interview, and that affecting the players ?. In which case he is only really echoing Ralph's comments.
  9. MOTD pundits doing their best to pave the way for his move to a top 4 club. Personally I thought they overdid the praise. Yes, he's got potential but he's still raw. A second season of improving and I suspect they'll have a case though.
  10. Is too early for this thread to be used for the 2020/21 season ? This of course is making the bold assumption that Gao doesn't invest in the team over the summer and improve the squad.
  11. Didn't get there today but on seeing him v Huddersfield that's not a comparison I'd make. Schneiderlin even when he first arrived had a physical presence about him (think he is 6' or near to it), whereas Smallbone looked aptly named and a bit of a shortar$e and lightweight. No reason why he can't make it but if he does progress then we need a bit more strength and power in midfield to compensate.

    Villa build up

Perhaps a couple of robust challenges on him and a couple of others early on would not go amiss. Sure he wouldn't want to miss League Cup final the following week. (Oh for the days of a JohnMcGrath, Jimmy Gabriel, or Mark Dennis in the team). Agree with your post, and in all likelihood whoever concedes first is likely to collapse.
  13. Extremely naive or just blind optimism to assume we are not in the mix at the moment. Totally agree. Having come out of our purple patch I dread slipping back the other way, but injuries and calamitous defending yesterday is not encouraging. Come through the next two unscathed and things will look more positive.
  14. Fair point, but if isn't considered fit enough to start, is going to be fit enough to come on if Stephens or Vetergaard pull up in the third minute with a hamstring injury ? If not, then pretty pointless having him there. Perhaps the other option is Danso, but if he can't get a place on the bench ahead of a supposedly unfit Bednarek then not much future for him here.
  15. Going well at WBA, unused sub again today I see.
  16. Yet he was still on the bench.
  17. This was the one I was thinking of, that I don't recall being released.
  18. Okay, stand corrected on that. Thought it was worn at Arsenal away, although no reason why we couldn't have worn the blue one.
  19. Can't fault his effort and workrate but for a forward he is simply awful in front of goal. Happy to retain him as a squad player providing we bring better in as first choice. But at 33, please Saints don't offer him a two or three year contract on silly money; that would be a balls up of Les Reed proportions.
  20. not quite, I remember it as amber and black, a lighter shade than Wolves kit. Would prefer a return to this rather than the yellow and blue.
  21. More surprising is that the club are selling this yellow kit ( I thought it was earlier than 91-93). https://store.saintsfc.co.uk/Product/ProductItem?id=0000-17546 Recollection was that we only wore this about twice and it wasn't sold at the time.
  22. And don't forget Toby. Les was relaxed about that , until "legal people" got involved.
  23. Don't think his ego would let him "repent", how may chances do you give him ? I think he should be filed along with Osvaldo as an expensive egotistical flop. This sums it up for me. Clearly the "black box" did it's homework on attitude when bringing him in, or did Les switch that particular filter off. Think the club would be delighted at taking £12-15m for him too, but can't see anyone offering that for him.
  24. Median
  25. We certainly dodged a bullet there.
