Except when he does sell most of the £ will be going to pay off the loan he took on buying us, if what we read at the time was true that it was done through a bank, Macquarrie Bank being specifically mentioned at one point. It seems unlikely at the moment he'll recover the sum paid never mind end up with a nice clean surplus.

Always came across as a decent bloke and a "proper football man" who tried to get his teams playing the right way. Shame about the Skate connection, but despite that never disliked him. Yes I remember reading about that, I think it was in an interview when he first arrived as HR's assistant. Think the story was he'd been interviewed and the Saints board were delaying making a decision - sound familiar - so he took another job on offer, if it was QPR then that would be 1985 after Lawrie left. Another Jim Smith story that is Saints related is that as Birmingham manager at the time he tried to talk Lawrie out of signing Mark Dennis, story reported that he told LM 'as a friend I'd say stay clear..' .Glad Lawrie didn't listen to him.

Seems barely plausible and quite a stretch of the imagination to believe that to be honest. Nelly appeared on a clip of a pre-season meeting and it was said she was struggling with speaking English and still learning. Perhaps she speaks German and learnt that as a second language. Or does Kat speak Mandarin so they converse in that ?

Despite the lower attendance, and I suspect there were less people in the ground than given by the official figures, I thought the support in the second half was much better than usual when the teal started to rally. Read someone saying that support improves as the team gets sh!tter, and there seems some truth in that as the stands contained people who wanted to be there and support Saints rather than 'tourists' and Chinese students taking selfies. For the last 15 minutes it reminded me of the support at The Dell in our annual relegation scrap in the 90's.

I've avoided the bandwagon critiscising JWP but for much of the first 65 minutes yesterday I was seeing that his critics had a valid case as his passing and contribution seemed woeful. Credit where it's due for the free kick which was something MLT would have been proud of and out of context with the rest of the game, but I didn't see much in his game overall. That said PEH, didn't seem to offer anything creative for most of he game. That said, I certainly didn't agree with the singing Romeu's name in the second half as we know his contribution would have been more muscle but little creativity.

Also remember Saints playing the Japan national side in a pre-season friendly at The Dell in the early c1971 or 72. Won 6-2.

Note the comment on the OS that he'll start work early 2000. Hope this doesn't mean no Head of Recruitment until Matt Crocker has his feet under the table. -
... and Leeds when they were among the Big 5 or so.

From what I recall reading a couple of weeks ago the 'intention' appeared to be not only a new DoF but also an overhaul of the coaching set up that would take place within the international break. The expectation was that the new coaches would be in position this week, yet we're preparing for the Arsenal match with Kelvin & Watson still assisting Ralph. -
Looks like the Hong Kong branch of the WTP Appreciation Society is taking a bit of a kicking tonight after a sit in at a University.

I would, as he's just taken a role at Dundee. Plus it wouldn't fit in with the 'Ralph is happy and on board with the appointment' part of the rumour. -

Do you have an identikit profile of the earlobes for either ?

Where did his "concussion" come from yesterday to rule him out ?

This seems to be what we now do best, bring players in and coach them so their form and careers go on a rapid downward spiral. As for the selection of full backs, that seems to be down to events, Betrand suspended, Hojberg injured (apparently), so moving Cedric to LB (I thought he'd previously played there for us although you wouldn't have thought so yesterday). Valery would have been a logical RB but has been crap this season, so JWP or Armstrong for the role.

First I've read of that, where does the suggestion come from ?

Any updates on the availability to park here ? Recall last season a few people were ticketed.

So how many are going dressed as Winnie the Pooh today ? Or taking Tibet, or Hong Kong Flags ?

Seems a recurring theme here, we do seem to attract them don't we ? (Owners, dubious sponsors, and now this ).
-
Can you see our fans doing something as coordinated as that though ?

Now you've made me feel old, realising I was at the Fratton cup tie, and Highbury semi-final the year you were born

Danny Butterfield is now avaialble again having been sacked in a clear out at MK Dons. Wasn't he highly rated as a coach here with the U23's or lower age group ?
