  1. Trouble is though that Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham have all on occasion shown a bit of spirit and fight, qualities beyond most of our gutless crew, certainly for all of them to show it in the same match. Fulham will no doubt find the form they've been lacking against us late November, possibly with a new manager. Cardiff will see the home fixture in December as a "must win" and be up for it.
  2. let's wait until they face a proper striker, or better team before considering this. Bournemouth on an off day, and Newcastle, possibly the worst strike force apart from our own, is no measure.
  3. I was hoping most of them would f^ck off in the summer, but the problem is that most are so poor no other bast^rd will buy them... we couldn't even give Forster away by paying a large% of his wages. Nice one Les, cretin.

    Hughes OUT

The only argument to keep Hughes on is that it's unlikely Reed will make a better choice, three in a row now have either shown to be duds or a poor fit for Saints. Or.. Jardim... but neither experienced in England, never mind a relegation scrap here. They'd inherit the current shambles, a squad with a toothless goalshy attack etc. Doubt we have the ambition to attract either, or that Reed has the initiative to bring either in, both of whom will probably have more attractive offers.
  5. Don't wish him any harm, hope he makes a recovery. It still rankles how he left us, as we developed well under him.Have to remember though he ballsed his own career by doing so when he did, and his stock never really recovered.
  6. Twenty-two shots - nil goals, perhaps the manager can't be held accountable ... but it's week after week... and he can be accountable for the continued perseverance with Austin who has the mobility and finesse of a carthorse.. and Shame Long... why ? Summary: Taxi for Hughes Firing squad at dawn for both Les, and Wilson, for their continued inept recruitment Mr Gao, please sell us to someone with ambition and drive None of which will happen of course.

    Shane Long

Long or Austin... bit like having to choose between gonorrhea or syphilis as your preferred dose of clap... Neither offer what we need to be honest. I thought Long was overpriced at £12m when he arrived., and that was as a squad player to provide extra an extra option. Fast forward four years and he's an "essential" part of the squad. Another illustration of how we've regressed.
  8. Often wondered what The Glitter Band reformed as.
  9. Strange how things go, before the start of the season Jokanovic was a popular choice based on Fulham last season and how they played, but the question over him now is probably wether he can organise a defence at this level. Thought he did the same thing by his public statements over Toby and Koeman, but they backfired on him, although he wasn't the decision maker there.
  10. Reverse is probably true as well though, concede and we go to pieces. Although on reflection we also tend to switch off after scoring and invite the opposition to attack us (Leicester at home springs to mind). Perhaps the perfect plan is the game v Newcastle from the late 1980's, 0-0 injury time, Ruddock with a very last minute penalty.
  11. What if Benitez gets the push or walks away this week, and they get Monaco matey in ? Or Puel is dumped from Leicester and he ends up there. Pardew went after a 4-0 win away, and Adkins after a very creditable comeback and 2-2 draw at Chelsea. But that was under a different regime whereas Pellegrino nearly lasted to Easter. Don't expect Hughes to be going this side of Christmas.
  12. A perfect match in that he fits Reeds No1 criteria of currently being unemployed ? The articles I've seen read well and as if he would have matched our self publiscised profile after the Poch-Koeman era of course but our stock has fallen and it seems we are no longer the 'attractive football' bringing through the endless conveyor belt of talent (the Southamptonwayb0ll0cks#). The prospect of Jardim or even Hasenhuttl would be a perceived improvement, as would Rodgers (although still find the spectre of Rodgers2014 makes that a difficult one to overcome), all would p[robably be a good choice with a summer to sort out their squad and prepare it. Have to question how they'd manage to motivate our lot, all have been at clubs with a better track record of recruitment (for their respective leagues) than us over the last few seasons and none to my knowledge have experienced a relegation dog fight. They were only stating there had been a report on it in the press, nothing new or more informed than that.
  13. Story probably lifted from here. It would be more accurate for the journalist to have written "... Hughes under pressure (?) .. poor results... so a few mongboarders want an unrealistic manager who could probably walk into a top job rather than the current shambles at SFC ..."
  14. There's an offer on Andrex in Sainsburys at the moment.
  15. I don't think fans would walk away from that, even if we are struggling. But up until the 1990's we always had a team that seemed to care and battle, remember the Alehouse team of the late 60's/early 70's, not the finest players in the land - except for Big Ron at his prime - but opponents always knew they would face a battle, at The Dell anyway. The same could be said for Dodd and Benali during their era, MLT replacing Big Ron as the talisman (overcoming the p!ss poor attitude of the likes of Ripley, and a certain Mark Hughes whilst he played for us). The current bunch though just roll over and look for their tummies to be tickled. During this time they pick up an obscene wage whilst knowing their agents are working in the background to engineer a move away. It's the gutless attitude from most of them that saps the supporters will after a couple of seasons. As many have said this starts at the top with an anonymous owner, and of course the continued fumbling in recruitment dept by Honeydew Bunsen, assisted by Wee Jimmy Krankie.
  16. Not if we factor in the compensation paid in severance I doubt it.
  17. I think Rodgers is an easy link for any journalist to make as it is widely rumoured he is unhappy at Celtic. Like you I'd be happy with Hassenhutl (?) and Rodgers would be an upgrade on Hughes, but I doubt Reed has either the appetite or initiative to make the change. (Not that I'm a fan of Rodgers after summer 2014).
  18. Good point, and of course Targett is the 'breakthrough' act from the Academy in this respect. Good to see Les has got this covered on the convenyor belt of talent.
  19. I don't miss his missed penalties though.
  20. Sunderland spring to mind, and we all know how that ended.
  21. Thanks, had forgotten the name but not the woeful performance. Made Callum Davenport seem like Beckenbauer iin comparison. No.
  22. Who was the Irish CB we had on loan from Reading at the begining of the 2007/08 (?) season when we lost 1-4 at home to Palace ? That really was a standout debut. Certainly had a great recruitment dept in those days.
  23. in summary then, it's a rudderless ship. Just leave it to Les to do his best Captain Smith in navigating the icebergs. Anyone confident ?
  24. Bet we don't.... can't see anyone being so gullible to shell out £10m or more on that donkey. Except Pellegrino who is at a club that probably can't afford it.
  25. None of whom are impeded by the muppetry of Reed & Wilson making the selection though.
