  1. I go along with much of Chewy's thoughts. In summary - as before, we're okay providing no bastard gets injured.
  2. A critical word you missed out, David. The reverse of that is IF he goes to the World Cup and has a strop, head butts a linesman, or a dressing room rumpus occurs, then no sensible f^cker will touch him with a barge pole. This might seem far fetched, but with him and Ballotelli in the same dressing room, fireworks are quite possible.
  3. Which will match the Osvaldo contribution, at about £12m less cost of course. In the past Saints fans have been fairly tolerant of new starters, and youngsters. A Wolves supporting relative commented on this to me years ago, having seen Trevor Hebbard having a two-left feet sort of stinker as a youngster at The Dell. He was impressed that The Dell crowd - and perhaps that's the difference - stuck with him, whereas irrespective of age the Molineaux crowd would have been on the players back in ten minutes. Perhaps times, and the crowds expectations have changed.
  4. I've seen this comparison made a few times, and although intended as a compliment it is a little unfair on Gallagher as I think he also brings a degree of power and pace with his game that Crouch lacked. Seeing him against Yeovil he reminded me more of a James Beattie in that respect.
  5. Ditto. As John B later says, crucial goals. Several higher profile, and more expensive signings have contributed significantly less in their time with us, Dixon, Speedie, Mark Hughes, immediately spring to mind. Then there is Agustin Delgado ? Pound for pound Forte might represent better value at the moment than one Pablo Osvaldo. Dixon & Speedie in particular , must be nearly the worst bits of business the club has ever done, whose contribution to the success of Saints amounts to the square root of f^ck all Don't even get me started on Lee Todd, Kleber Chala, Bleidilis, etc. Plus Ali Dia, and the perpetual waster that was Tommy Forecast.
  6. Hope we keep 'the class of 2014' together for as long as they kept theirs together.

    Well

Reply I received earlier in referring to continuity at the club: Would this not also be applicable here ?
  9. CEO - temporary sell/loan- players who were clearly surplus to our plans suspend - hardly surprising by all accounts, and something endorsed by, possibly at the instigation of both the playing squad and manager loan - see 'suspend' above if referring to Osvaldo, release - allow players to pursue a playing career elsewhere what is there to complain about ? Strikes me that you're complaining for the sake of it.
  10. less of a c6nt than Gus in our rise up the leagues, but couldn't take to the bloke.
  11. Thought our scout in Ottery might have been a bit wiser to that one, and directed him along the coast.
  12. Gallagher's from down your way isn't he ? Although we signed him from Plymouth I read somewhere he's from Exeter. Has there been much interest in his rise down there ? No need to rush to answer - finish the hoovering first if you wish !
  13. technicolour ...
  14. Can she play centre-half ?
  15. Perhaps Di Masturbateo can be the next manager of Notts Forest then, or Reading, or wherever , perhaps AC Milan even if NC ends up there. Mention of Reading as I saw a post on one of their boards asking if NC might be installed there if some mega rich arabs bought them...
  16. I see it more as allowing players to move on, and pursue their playing careers elsewhere. As opposed to a CEO's policy of just leaving them to rot in the reserves for no good reason other than he had the power to do so. Perhaps KL has allowed a more compassionate way of dealing with players who are surplus to our needs.
  17. how is that "breaking news" ? It has been widely touted for about 24 hours, and Italian reports as referred to in this forum, have been saying its nearing completion for a few hours.
  18. Not another Rocketswannie special then ?
  19. Quite a few, me included. picked up on that. New lucky tie ?
  20. Looked very relaxed.
  21. new lucky tie ? Good interview.
  22. Okay, fair point Bexy and Minsk, I should have phrased it differently : we only score once whilst we are dominating for long periods of the match (as in the First half).
  23. Good result though - who wouldn't have accepted that pre-kick off, and even more so when we went 2-1 down ? Usual problems though - dominate and only score once. We're just too wasteful.
  24. Trouble is someone who is a 'chance taker' , probably does not also offer the mobility and running attributes that are needed for our style of play. I've often thought that Billy Sharpe would have been worth a run for his goalpoaching etc, he falls short on the other requirements.
