yes, as heard from a single source.

Doubt that the current problem would have escalated to this. NC had - we read - a close bond, and hopefully respect, for Markus Liebherr so this and Markus's presence would have put a brake on NC to some degree as he might have been working in tandem with someone, or possibly accountable.
-
So you don't begrudge NC the opportunity to spend ML's millions in fulfilling a dream and vision, but you do - for a reason best known to yourself - begrudge his heir the same opportunity ?

Only port or brandy for our local 'big wigs' though surely ? With a mudbath of a pitch down the middle, goalmouth to goalmouth. No 'pseudo-pretend its a working mans game' with those dreadful 'fukka pukka pies' , its back to Wagon Wheels & Bovril, or' f^ck off go without' as the only option for us in the plebs stands. And the team where red and white stripes. Not because Saints once wore them, but because its wot Barnstonthwaite Utd wore. That's the CEO we want.

Reading this on a Liverpool blog about Purslow: http://www.empireofthekop.com/anfield/tag/christian-purslow/ of course he has now had some football experience, but....

Probably the only name they could come up with. oh, b0ll0cks, hope we're not going back to the days of "no one's ruled in, no one's ruled out..."

Maybe Katarina has better plans for the club than NC had

The focus has been on KL, but I thought I read Markus also had a son, and some supporters had met the two of them when Saints played pre-season in Switzerland a few years ago. -

Good read. -
Cortese's son in the Academy? Is he any good?

The Anthony Pulis of his generation ? -
Yes, this comparison occurred to me the other night: posted on the Cortese to go thread. At least, becoming an old fart has advantages when you learn from history.

Mauricio Pochettino staying as Southampton manager - Official

Whatever we hear though is likely to be a media friendly, sanitised version though isn't it ? -
Exactly. Another 'moment' in the press conference, if you really want to over analyse it, was a reference towards the end about "staying focussed until the end of the season, that's what is important..". Could that be interpreted as meaning only until the end of the season ?
-
Perhaps he was going for an interview ?
-
Only on here. Probably won't be mentioned in tonight's Gloucestershire Echo but I'll check, just in case Rupert has been spouting in his local and its been picked up.

Not picking this up on you specifically Shroppie, but I keep reading referrals to NC wanting sole command and not being "a team player" etc, but did he not work in a more structured environment in Swiss Banking ? And would he not have been answerable to others before ? It seems entirely reasonable to me that KL, The Liebherr Trust in whatever form, wanted a little more accountability from him whilst they were funding this. Its a great shame he could not work with them on it. -
bold - agree Why would MP leave ? if he walks out now on a matter of "principle" he does so with his reputation intact, and in truth his stock has probably never been higher. For "power" see above about someone watching the expenditure, and seeking justifications to any decision. But is the end of season not referable to another Dodd/Gorman, Gray type of fiasco ?

name from the past = Andy Oldknow , who was involved when ML & NC first arrived. This is not a wish, but a name thrown in to the mix.

Would not rule out someone brought in from Switzerland again.

Probably not. But I don't see him returning on a white charger as many do. -

As NC appears to have developed a good rapport with the press recently, what chance that snippet came from him ? IF true, then why reject it ? KL wanting to oversee what was happening and having a board? Not unreasonable request. Dispute over funding ?Or NC having something lined up? -

Unless it's in NC's garage.
