  1. Despite limited resources Police prioritising the really important things, even in rural outposts. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgq3ekyjeveo
  2. Perhaps whatever his agent manages to secure for his release in his contract. It seems that the days of an ‘open market’ for transfer fees are numbered.
  3. I have since found this article about the attempt to rig our kit choice. https://museumofjerseys.com/2020/12/21/honouring-the-wrong-man-the-kit-that-never-was-southampton-2001-02/
  4. Great idea. Players can line the halfway line pre kick off to rival a Haka in this kit. Lyrics: “ Young man, there’s no need to feel down… etc “ We can really revolutionise the matchday experience to show inclusiveness. This followed by taking the knee. We may have been shit on the pitch over the last year but we’ll be out there on our own in woke signalling. Hope Turkish and co approve.
  5. Are they doing anything different to Nixon, Crook et al ? (Good analogy by the way)
  6. The other scouse whine I’ve heard recently is bemoaning the possibility that Trent is good mates with Bellingham who has had a quiet word and ‘tapped him up’ whilst on England duty. samestandardsdontapplytoLiverpool# Volume37 alwaysthevictims#
  7. Did Stephens play in the 0-9 ? That might have made it a souvenir worth having.
  8. In other words, Saints Extra have read on Saints Forum ..,
  9. Blue lettering, 🤔, sight for sore eyes on a Saints shirt. But if they’re paying enough and we go up* the league with it guess will have to live with it *carefully avoid temptation to say ‘sailing’ or ‘cruising’ up the league
  10. They were linked with the 19 year old Spanish wonder boy from Chelsea on loan (Guiu). Not sure they’ll be as depleted as we might hope. But just get our own incomings right and no need to worry about them.
  11. He probably lies there pining for Burnley.
  12. Think you’re right. It was an Easter fixture as I remember.
  13. I think that interview was intended to make Rupert release the purse strings a bit more for transfers. But one thing to credit Rupert for is that he kept control of transfers and funding them during ‘arry’s time with us. HR would have had no qualms about nearly bankrupting the club.
  14. Rangers have had several Spanish, Italian, French and South American players since, managers even, most likely Catholic. ROI and Scots RCs more sensitive there though. They’re now talking to Ancellotti jnr. Without prying into his private life I doubt he’s had a Calvinist, or Scots Presbyterian upbringing. Welsh Chapels, and Methodists seem to escaped their attention.,Perhaps Nathan could be their man.
  15. The beard. It's a giveaway.
  16. I know what you mean, but there were three Cups in Europe for many years, European Cup (for League Champions), Cup Winners Cup (FA Cup or equivalent), and then Fairs Cup/UEFA Cup. Arguably we've still got three competitions although the last two have been cheapened or diluted by opening up the first one to teams who aren't actually League Champions, but League Champions and 2-5 others from the same league. Al in the interest of tv and £££ of course. Reverse argument might be that it gives more lesser teams chance to compete. Wonderful if we ever get there and fancy a midweek trip to Kazakhstan.
  17. Not according to the Gospel of ‘arry. though. I seem to recall he tried to send him on loan to Forest at one point. But don’t suppose that features highly in his memoirs.
  18. Have suspected Rohl would end up at Leicester. Personally I think we’ll regret not bringing him here, but time will tell.
  19. Good interview, comes across well. Hope he's as convincing on the pitch. (And certainly better than hearing some of the home growns !)
  20. And was personally responsible for the development and success of both Walcott and Bale (after he took ‘im under his wing at Spurs) don’t forget.
  21. Right, get yourself a season ticket in front of the Directors Box. With that level of scrutiny you’re nominated for earlobe alerts this season
  22. I think both sides of this have been trotted out several times in here. A)Fonte came back ‘Billy Big Bollocks’ after the Euros. Wanted either a new improved contract or a move to Man Utd, resented and tried to undermine Puel. Or, B) The club decided it was a good time to sell him, and tried easing him out of the door. What was strange was that the club didn’t do a big splash trumpeting his a achievements at the Euros. So perhaps one party or other had set this in motion before he even got back to Staplewood. Take your pick.
  23. Jones was an open target from the time he arrived. A questionable and unpopular appointment, who fans thought was shit and the team performances only reinforced that view very quickly No wonder the bloke felt insecure, fans on his back, public criticism from a non-league manager, the media vultures circling for the inevitable kill. Had ‘arry made jokes about working in a supermarket and marrying an east-end girl, the tabloids would have lapped it up as a good old Harry, proper manager (although he does have a track record to go with it). But it became a stick to beat Jones with. His Brentford outburst was inexcusable though. But interestingly Martin seemed to go the same way after Brentford this season blaming others (players he’d been too loyal to) although that was a more polished media interview and went under the radar.
  24. How many games has he played in the Championship? I missed that bit.
  25. Shame Wilcox and Ankersen didn’t understand this. No one told them the punchline
