  1. His abscence suggests that Adkins believes JP has 'thrown his oar overboard' , or is unable to row in the same direction and pace as those around him. For whatever reason, he does not appear onboard still. Shame as I thought he might have grasped the opportunity and with something to prove he might have added some aggression into our fight.
  2. Tend to agree with you, especially in the current climate of gloom after last night, but: wasnt Brighton away last season a "big occasion" ? or Orient away, Brentford away, Plymouth away ? Games with Huddersfield breathing down our necks. To be fair, NA has experience of handling squads in promotion run-ins. Just hope his skills here don't desert him.
  3. Don't think anyone wished for a 194? repeat, but flagged it upas how things can go t!ts up from a good position. As for "control the controllables" , I wish we could, by putting away a few of our multiple chances created in games where we have 60% possession, or take a gilt egded opportunity such as a penalty at 0-0, and above all we don't easily give possession away (three times) to give opponents chances... Had we controlled these things we should have "controlled" , then we'd be points clear .
  4. As above. Reading have certainly had a better return on him than we have had - so far - on Sharp.
  5. Not particularly impressed by Chaplow tonight, but I think its been long established that De Ridder simply can not start a game.

As I saw it: Fox at fault for the first with an overly ambitous pass. Hammond lost possession too easily for the second, although Le Fondre did have too much time and room to score Third goal... game might have been over by then..but feeble back header

But it was frequently stated that not good enough, as not tried at this level. Reading sign him for about £300,000 . No further comment.
  8. and well done to those on the charity cycle ride today NA would like to take part next year (perhaps a little tongue in cheek).
  9. Brighton are truly a shining example of a club embracing their community, and lead the way. We too should do more to encourage arsebandits/shirtlifters into football. In fact anyone in capped tee-shirts, leather caps and sporting a Freddie Mercury moustache should be given complimentary tickets to attend matches (if Brighton beat Reading).
  10. The Amex Stadium makes The Bernabau seem like Totton Rec.
  11. Good thread, I too think we should express our admiration for them and think Adkins should be whipped to within an inch of his life for not giving them a guard of honour last season. Going further, I really wish we had a manager who involved himself in the game more, trying to get opponents players sent off. And I admire the loyalty shown by the bestest ever right back thw world has ever seen,Caulderon, sometimes cruelly referred to as Indigo Cardigan (sn!gger, sn!gger) by their fans, in staying with them instead of taking the 'filthy money' on offer.
  12. He won't have a job by the play off final so it will not matter anyway. Yes, we're just (ten from) Dagenham and Lambert don't forget.
  13. Brum 2-0 up. Slobberdyce's gum chewing goes into overdrive, and the knot on his tie down to his chest. Keep this up and the fat reptile won't see the season out at Upton Park.

I suspect the original comment was regarding Saturday rather than today.
  15. yyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss
  16. Thinking the same. I was surprised when he and Falque were warming up pre-match v Doncaster the other week. From that I assumed he was still on the periphery but part of the squad. That now seems less likely to me.
  17. The abscence of a sub GK at this stage of the season is a cause for concern, even if it is BB.
  18. Replacement for Connolly then.
  19. Ditto.Let's just see which division we are in before we start speculating.
  20. Serious question, we know we have been crying out for the 'dominant midfield hardman' for over a decade now, but does such a beast still exist ? And if so, can we modify it further by one that is within our budget ?
  21. Talks with RvP have stalled as Cortese is refusing to agree his wages will match Xavi's.
  22. ... and David Armstrong v Mancs , December 1981
  23. Come on chaps and chapesses, having got yesterday out of my system - or at least come to terms with trying to - lets also remember last minutes of : Ruddock - penalty v Newcastle c1987 Moran v skates 1984 two late, late strikes v Swindon, league cup c1989 and another memorable and historic strike Hugh Fisher v Villa, FA Cup Jan 1976.
  24. Wasn't there a similar incident involving Ferdinand a few years ago booting the ball into the crowd ?
  25. I've been saying the same for years. Alan Ball was the last of a rare breed though, only Jimmy Case comes close as a midfield enforcer although nowhere near Ball's standard of passing.T match Alan Ball you'd have to merge Case and Steve Williams.
