  1. Gerry Anderson certainly made a significant contribution to the entertainment and imagination of anyone growing upin the 1960's. Stingray and Thunderbirds are amongst my earliest memories from tv. The fact that my son was desperate for a "must have" Tracey Island in about 2001 emphasises the longevity of Gerry ( & Sylvia) Anderson's creations. RIP, & Thanks(from succesive generations).
  2. Gazzaniga - just too early for him. Perhaps his injury was at a 'convenient' time for the club in order to make the change and restore Kelvin.I think PG may make the grade but we saw Gazzaniga sat with the squad players v Sunderland, and am sorry to say the body language just said "sulk", to me and my son.Perhaps not the attitude NA requires. Boluc has thrived on a reputation earnt elsewhere a few years ago. After his water bottle tantrum, I suspect his time here will be short. KD, is not a Prem standard keeper. Some people do not think we need another GK in January. I can't see us surviving without one.
  3. Hope they go for Di Matteo , just to put an end to his name hanging over us.
  4. Totally agree, it is a big expectation for a 21 year old with only a handfull of L2 games in a new country to make the step up.
  5. I agree with your conclusion, although disagree about Gazzaniga, just too early for him. 6. I'm well aware of who we've brought in but unfortunately neither have completely solved the problem.I wonder how vshort term Boruc is likely to be, three games was it ? This leaves us with good old Kelv, who many believe is simply not the answer in the Premiership. He looked shaky in the early stages of the season, can we really pin our hopes on him for the rest of the season ? You may be right about Gazzaniga next season, but I suspect NA and NC will be more concrned about the next five months at the moment.
  7. I'd be surprised if we don't try bringing another in, and concerned if we don't.
  8. Just realised this must be a countdown game for Christmas. How many minutes, or posts will this last for ?
  9. I thought I'd post on here before it is locked.
  10. Living in Glos, I always look out for Cheltenham Town's results. Previously have a soft spot for Plymouth, and Exeter due to family connections.
  11. It could of course be a reworking of the Rhys Williams at 'boro story.
  12. Probably only linked on here to be honest.
  13. Could be a lot worse, and probably the nearest to the Keegan era we can hope for. Await a decent mock up of it on here.
  14. What would you think of it, if on an away match, some knob revealed a skates shirt ? Pretty pathetic to be honest.
  15. Do we need all four of them though ?
  16. Do they go duck shooting in Switzerland as well ?
  17. Obviously its the time of year. Must be a Rupert Annual.
  18. Lambert has been, and remains, our talisman. Selling him in January would be suicidal, as he is so integral to our style of play.

I remember his name being mentioned in the summer during the Euro's , as a full international in dispute with his current club looking for a permanent home. On the face of it, a potentially good proposition for us although not sure if he'd be the replacement for Fonte or Yoshida. Personally, I think we need that 'beast' of a centre half rather than the more the cultured defender.A younger version of Jaidi. The only name mentioned in the last 12 months that seems to fall immediately in to that bracket is the bloke from Twente, Douglas, although as he is rumoured to have rejected Newcastle & Fulham in the summer it seems unlikely that we would attract him ( at £4m plus).

  21. If you can obtain it, apply Alum powder to the sore. Recommended to me by an older relative many years ago,and it worked.
  22. Home, either red/white conventional stripes, or a Keegan era for me. Yellow shirts, blue shorts are boring, agree. Amber and black though would be fine by me.
  23. Wikipedia does not make promising reading: Perhaps its been doctored, but might not be a simple deal to conclude.

Any fixture that we're aware of ?
  25. With all the technology involved in football nowadays, and that Saints in particular embrace (Prozone for example), its surprising that we don't have a Hughie Green type of 'Screamometer' available to us. Anyone else think it could be useful to physios in the preparation of injuries ? (With apologies to the stain who asked a serious question)
