  1. More to the point it appears the club did not want him to be 3rd choice.
  2. No contest for me. Although Holloway is an arse, he's a pretty comical one. Fat Sam is just a sweaty fat reptile, hope Blackpool do it today (although in truth West Ham deserve to). Only downside if Blackpool go up is that we will be less likely to sign Matt Phillips.
  3. Can't understimate his part in our resurgence, even if in short sharp bursts, has been important in overcoming the -10 points, promotion from L1 at the end of last season on arrival, and our start to promotion this season. Shame we could not have signed him in his prime. Wish him well at his next club.
  4. No longer possible as that would be too much of a challenge for those 'numerically disadvantaged' in our current education system, and 'appreciate' has too many syllables without an obligatory ' f'kin' between them. I do however remember that chant, but belongs in an era of the bobble hat and wooden rattle (now in the roofspace).
  5. Interesting. Living in Cheltenham, many locals here would disagree with you.As do 'Woy' and the England set up.
  6. We definitely need someone there now that Connolly has been released.
  7. Please don't forget the famous IMHO - in my humble opinion. This was the customary sign off by one poster ( Morph from memory) during the summer of 2007 and the Paul Allen saga.
  8. For £4m, I'd rather we tried for Butland at Brum, and we might still have some change left. Kasper is of course a good GK, but I think his reputation and value is enhanced by his surname, how highly might he be rated if it was Smith or Arkwright ?
  9. So much depends on managerial departures and appointments. The immediate future of Wigan/Norwich/Swansea us appears to hinge on keeping managers in situ, and if they move the future is not so rosy. Similarly for Villa and WBA,their appointments are critical. This is before we know the playing squads available of course.
  10. ...no of course not, they seldom do

    Matt Jarvis

QPR will probably want to spend silly money this summer.
  12. As he lives in Bitterne Park you could pop round and see him if you're that concerned over his welfare and missing him.
  13. The Hood in Thunderbirds was pretty sinister at the time, for a six/seven year old. Doubt it would be permitted now as it would be deemed offensive to some far eastern religious cult or whatever.
  14. Yes, remember that. Forrest Tucker a name from it I recall.
  15. And for us exiles who don't get the Football Echo ?
  16. Perhaps a difference , in that in the 1960's the occupiers of the estates described here were considered predominantly hard working, working class etc rather than the 'scrounge' culture that now exists. "Never much trouble.." another difference in times.
  17. Its called Merseyside.
  18. and then it was Thunderbirds, and this lot when allowed to stay up later :
  19. Christ you lot are some youngsters ! Long before I discovered real heroes wore red and white stripes : this was the most dramatic of intro's as a child-
  20. Made I laugh... but it probably won't catch on. Plus, do we really need another song about Pompey ?

    Away Kit

I think Leicester wore the kit you described a couple of years ago.
  22. Yes, so do I .But only on this site,so possibly not overly reliable.
  23. Fiona Phillips may have a few photos of it.Or perhaps she'll just appear in a few ! Wonder if she'll include any in her autobiography.
  24. Nothing less than an all night vigil (outside our village church) will do.
  25. A Dutch version of Tommy Forecast then.
