That is my interpretation of events as well. For all his good points as a CEO, he left because of personal flaws, an unwillingness to work with others, and in particular be answerable to an employer (for whatever reason best known to him). Good luck to NC in finding employment in ANY profession, trade or industry where he does not have to answer to shareholders, or individuals who are putting their own money up. I'm damn sure Abramovitch, or the Arabs owning Man City would want to keep a close check on their CEO's.

Neither were regular though were the? just a few end of season games before falling into obscurity. Racking my brain, but the last one I can think of who made a run of appearances is Steve Middleton (mid 70's) , and before that Gerry Gurr (late 60's).

So you would not have been bothered about going to the semi or final this year had it happened ? Not the last Cup at all. But to seemingly fritter away an opportunity as we did and go out in a whimper is bloody disappointing. You're also assuming we might take it a little more seriously in future. Remains to be seen.

I still get a buzz thinking about 1976, and am not ashamed or embarrassed to admit, I'd like a repeat of that, as an adult with my sons, before I'm boxed up and buried. Shame if some of you Sky generation, FIFA manager internet types find that f^cking boring or tedious. But of course in the event of Saints reaching a semi-final or the final itself I suspect the clamour for tickets will be overwhelming, swamped by the same 'sky generation/internet types' referred to above coming out of the woodwork.

Yes - could have won it, but could possibly have f^cked it up at Hull or v Sheff Utd. Great shame. But we'll never know.

Extremely disappointed still, needlessly out of a cup without a fight where we might have beaten Hull to get to a semi-final and then...* Players flunked it, but perhaps a bit of urgency in the dressing room and from the touchline might not have gone amiss. *leaving aside all the chaos theory, butterfly effect that the person making the draw might have not made it 'cos he tangled his knob in a Kenwood blender on hearing we'd beaten Sunderland at a lunch time kick off...

Can't be many players who can hit the ball with the same power when sitting on their ar$e as when standing, well done Jay.

Is it the "F^ck the FA Cup" Stadium ?

A winnable game, but what chance Norwich give Hughton the boot, and come charged on new manager syndrome, although we should still have enough to win this.

Good shout - right age group for our developing masterclass. -
Gray, Wigley spring to mind.

Good call. But don't overlook Alan Turdishley. I once heard it said that he did a great job at Charlton.
-
I think he was a spent force by that stage though.

I thought 'Arry was exclusively credited with the success of unearthing every gem the club has produced in the last decade.
-
Interesting you mention him . I read once that he was very much on our shortlist to interview at one stage, in the early days of his career. I can't remember if it was after Lawrie left us in 1986 (think it was), or after Chris Nicholl. Saints asked Millwall if we could speak with him, they said no, and that was the end of it. No tabloid invitations to talk in those days, accepted it with good grace and moved on.
-
I believe he is by the way. I always thought that he felt he might get a chance with us one day, after all he seemed to go everywhere else.

or Jim Smith , or Gordon Lee ?

Not sure Ulrika would agree with you.

Was Dalian Wanda at the game in person yesterday ?

To the NPC or from it ? If from it, then his suspicions were perhaps well founded. -
Strange though, as after the Arsenal game the general consensus on here was that he looked relaxed and happy in the post match interview
-
Pleased to see the club acknowledging his birthday. Would hate to see him go off in a sulk because they forgot it, like one previous South American did.

Any links to MP's post match interviews ?
