In fairness to GM the notion of SFC's church roots and background being an attraction was mooted in The Times.
-
Bit of a hornets nest you might have stirred up there GM. Bound to upset someone in these times. Actually,I doubt it made one iota of difference to ML that the pinnacle money was said to be coming from the London jewish community. He either wanted to buy the club or didn't.

We could do with an ice hockey team and stadium if they want a wish list to work from.

An interesting post kpt and question kpt.But are we not in danger of perhaps looking for something sinister and devious in the background when hopefully there is nothing to worry about. I fear that after the trauma we have all been through as Saints fans over the last 5/6 seasons we have thanks to Lowe,Wilde,Dulieu and Hone been conditioned that way. So unless anyone can unearth a direct link between Banque Heritage and W.H Ireland lets just celebrate the club is back out of its comatosed condition and ready to start the lomg haul back.

If the Action Man resembled Tony Adams there would have been no point even taking the bastard out of the box.

Depend who is selecting, and how they are going about the process. It seems unlikely that Markus Liebherr will deploy part of the Mali Group HR dept. to undertake the process you have described and might be reguarded as standard in business or industry. Its more likely that Oldknow, and Cortese are drawing up a shortlist to present to ML.As Cortese has not been in the UK with a football club that long we might be dependant on Oldknow's knowledge, experience and judgement here.Let us hope he has canvassed some views from MLT ! Finally, and a small point, can we go back to being supporters rather than "customers" now that Lowe has gone ?
-
Yes to some extent it could. However I think it less likely as Strachan and Keegan have a tremendous enthusiasm for the game. Also I think both would reject the job if they were not able to fully commit to it.For the same reason they have walked away from posts.Coppell and Curbishley strike me as characters who are likely to 'do a Harry' ,accept the job then regret it and sulk about it whilst in position.
-
ditto. Infact after KK,and possibly WGS he would be my preferred candidate.

Cotterill has made some poor career moves and paid the price. He was very much in the ascendency at Cheltenham(three promotions and an FA Trophy win).He left for Stoke which seemed a good step up but walked out after only 3or4 months to join Wilkinson at Sunderland.Disaster. He struggled to get back into the game, and didn't set the game alight at Burnley with limited resources. I have followed Cotterill's career with interest after Chelt Town. His early success here marked him out as one for the future. But it was pointed out to me on this board that 5 years after leaving Wycombe,O'Neill was at Celtic in the Champions League, where is Cotterill 5 years after Chelt.? It demonstrates that managers do not remain in the 'highly sought after' category for too long.DFerguson and Tisdale are wise to be cautious in their next move.

Eelpie asked a question over my reason for not being keen on Coppell: I think 19Canteen has partly answered this for me: I feel that Coppell, like Curbishley are "tired managers";yesterday's men who might arrive with a track record ,rather like Burley did ,but are unlikely -imho- to repeat it with us.

buying prawn sandwiches perhaps ?

Forgot Venables and George Graham.
-
or Graham Rix.
-
Keane Wise Adams Redknobb Coppell Curbishley Steve McLaren Probably a few others but don't want to spend too long depressing myself over it.
-
Roy Keane is an A Grade arsehole.I would not want that b^stard anywhere near Saints.
-
Liked it so much he stayed another night! Nailed on cert then. Just one question though, does managing Saints fit in with living in California ?

A bit Tisdalesque in apprearance. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.20min.ch/images/content/2/8/6/28698308/2/1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.20min.ch/ro/sports/football/story/28698308&usg=__tZ7ueIvNhPfJ38Q8aWi_NXwMR38=&h=166&w=249&sz=8&hl=en&start=13&um=1&tbnid=NL6GaUmbdVqPFM:&tbnh=74&tbnw=111&prev=/images%3Fq%3DWilliam%2BNiederhauser%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1 Just to annoy Delldays!
-
If you are looking for a manager to build and commit to the club for any length of time then Tisdale would be a far better option than either KK or GS in my view.
-
KK. WGS was good for us in the past, but I fear the "going back" might not work for him and us. If its not KK, then Strachan would however still be preferable to some of the dulllards previously listed ie Dowie,Coppell, and Curbishley.

I thought Oldknow's choice for a position of such power is likely to be Oldknow. I certainly can't see it being RL if that is who you are alluding to.
-
Paul Allen now realises he has missed out.
-
Yes that was the geezer I saw on SSN.
-
Strange, but if Hoos returns it a great coup.If Hone returns then its a retrograde step back towards the dark ages.
-
If so,then she,Isolde Liebherr, is part of the main Liebherr Holdings Group.Interesting that they have viewed the club also. Someone also described the wearer of the white suit to be young, fit etc which matched the description of Christina Liebherr. So more importantly when might we see her and her horse at SFC ?

Just researched this by google from a fans meeting at Leicester : http://www.lcfc.com/page/FansConsultativeCommittee/0,,10274~1404282,00.html AO's contribution was music after goals.
