  1. Have to wonder why RM couldn’t use him at Swansea and it seems was keen to get him out the door. Possibly attitude, but for whatever reason seems unlikely they’ll look to reunite.
  2. 21 today according to BBC stats
  3. How many times does he and the team need this drilling home to them. Again, its the lack of cutting edge up front that lets us down. And 12 corners. But ONE GOAL.
  4. Possibly three at the back, KWP and Manning further forward ? Not sure on that myself but a possibility perhaps.
  5. Who is that about ?
  6. Yes we were. We were reported to have made a bid
  7. Fair point. But a possible difference being the positions for Downes and THB were always likely to be available for them (barring a drop off in form), don’t think we could be as confident of Carvalho starting.
  8. Not sure we’d go for a player where the parent club want game time assurances.
  9. Excellent tracking back by Edozie. Hadn’t realised it was him at the match, but seeing it in highlights realised how far he’d come to make the tackle in. Vast improvement on the limp running back against Sunderland on their first goal earlier in the season.
  10. For me, the priority should be a forward, preferably one who plays in the middle, gets in the opposition penalty area .. and scores goals. Perhaps all the things we hoped Stewart to be.
  11. After the Stewart fiasco not sure we run a bus anymore, more of an ambulance service
  12. Looks like I tempted fate with this on Friday.
  13. Still quite a few. First one I clocked at 2.07 ! Fortunately some better supporting the Saints songs took over (even with the nostalgia of Gabbiadini and Lambert songs). But good effort again.
  14. Wouldn’t be against that (as we’re unlikely to go to red and white halves after this season, or to favoured Keegan era again).
  15. Long overdue perhaps, but would Hummel want to repeat a kit designed by another manufacturer? Aren’t Admiral still trading (though not in the football kit market)? In which case could the design be subject to any copyright?
  16. The interviewer was probably fully aware of Martin’s political stance and knew what he was doing in posing the question. Martin took the bait, and could (should depending on your view) have given a more diplomatic answer than his opening comment.
  17. Would have been better to have just said this. Perhaps a little naive not to think the first part wouldn’t be the headline focus
  18. Pretty poor and churlish from Martin. But it may at least bring him to the attention of Lineker and his Twiteratti followers. I suspect Adkins, Ralph or Koeman would have been more dignified in their response.
  19. And don’t forget Bristol City at home, similar fixture before New Year lost 1-0 (promotion from Championship season).
  20. Good point. We certainly want to avoid a Dani Osvaldo type signing or any Billy Big Bollocks. I suspect that might be a greater risk bringing in a loan from the Prem who thinks he’s above our level and acts in that fashion. An up and coming striker who meets the same work ethic as the rest though should be fine. Despite the risk, we’ve been crying out for a forward for two years now. That should be priority.
  21. I know he was highly rated at one point, but does Brooks offer any pace ?
  22. Yes, the Che factor at play again.
  23. See mention above of Fraser starting. Personally I hope not as I don’t recall him impacting the game from the outset. I think the 60 minutes onwards is his time.
  24. It’s times like this when you’re feeling confident that you also expect Saints will let you down.
  25. This is the acid test of course. Our playing out from the back still concerns me but we haven’t conceded many recently or ballsed things up. Whether that’s due to us becoming better at it, or inept opposition is questionable, probably a mix of the two. Had great doubts about RM after going to Sunderland , Leicester, and then our performance against Rotherham even. But you can’t argue with results, so well done over the last 16 games. Hope he can maintain this momentum. For me though it is now a case of judging at the end of the season. The one thing no one seems to have touched on is his age, only 38 next week. If he can get us up, the media will be blowing smoke up his arse.
