“Farage single handedly invented the idea of leaving the EU”. 😂 Said absolutely nobody. Got us a referendum, absolutely. Nobody else could have done that, only bitter Remainers could deny it . If he died that day (classy post Old Nick BTW) we’d still be in the EU now.
-
You’ve got to have a referendum to win it. Without a shadow of doubt there’s one person that got us that vote. Sir Nigel Farage. To get that in the face of a Europhile commons, Lords & civil service is quite remarkable for someone outside of The UK Parliament. Without him the Tory leavers would still be arguing over subsection B section 111 of the XYZ treaty. Of course he had help from the woeful, arrogant fuckwitted remain campaign and the fact that most elected politicians don’t understand the ordinary Joes they represent. But Nige is Mr Brexit, absolutely no doubt about it, and if the remain camp can find someone half as effective, you may get another bite at the cherry. I doubt you will though. Instead of throwing insults at leavers, remain voters should direct their anger at remainers in politics who don’t seem to have the gumption or the ability to mobilise and put the graft in. You need a nige

Fuck me, the media fawn all over him already. He doesn’t need to play for Liverpool first that to happen.
-
You can campaign all you like, but I doubt you’ll find anyone with the nous, charisma or political genius of Nigel. In terms of percentages, he turned around a lot worse situation than you lot find yourselves in. Here’s a tip, he didn’t do it by insulting the voters, or making out he had superior intelligence and that people who voted remain were thick, or selfish. . He did it through his arguments and damn hard work. Losers don’t have to accept the status quo, they’re perfectly entitled to keep campaigning. What they do have to accept is that the people who voted the other way, did so with as much information, as much intelligence and as much compassion for their neighbours as they did. They also need to understand that they weren’t in touch with the country as a whole, and their opinion was in the minority. In that respect you lot haven’t accepted the result yet.
-
It means, losers have to accept the fact they lost and understand why they lost. Get off your smug remainer arses and get a Nigel. Its a bit tougher than tweeting or whinging in the media, which is why a rejoin campaign won’t ever get off the ground. Insulting voters doesn’t seem to be a particularly good way off winning them round, but it’s far easier to do than accept the real reason.

I don’t ignore the thread, I read it regularly. I find it funny. There used to be weirdos on my side of the debate. People who blamed everything on the EU, it’s good to know there’s also weirdos on the other side, who blame everything on Brexit. I don’t meet many bitter, arrogant people in real life, so reading the thread gives me an insight into their world. Keep on posting.

There’s no debate, there was, but now this thread has just become an echo chamber for boring remoaners.

Fitter maybe, I’m not convinced we’ll be getting anyone better.

Sexist bigot. Its “people” with a 76mm ding dong. People’s self esteem. -
That should have happened when Ched Evans was stitched up.

That’s a bit harsh on Stan, he wouldn’t have set up like we did at Anfield.

Ralph is now doing the work of two men…………..Laurel & Hardy.

The first time we played Arsenal at the new stadium I was refused entry with a legitimate ticket, so it can happen. A combination of being with my 12 year old, being able to speak the same language and showing them an email confirming payment & my saints account on my phone meant I got in ok. I imagine it would have been a bit tougher trying to reason with riot police in French, when there were thousands pushing, rushing to get in. Add to that the fact that Le Plod probably had preconceived views on English supporters and you’re basically fucked. It can’t be beyond the wit and wisdom of man to have a safe ticketing system and set up rings around the stadium.

It was a different era, we’d had a decade of English “supporters” causing trouble or getting involved and clashing with local muppets. We weren’t solely to blame, but there was always an undercurrent of trouble whenever English blokes travelled In numbers. Personally, I felt that the majority of decent people thought enough is enough and I don’t recall too much anger over the ban. That incident together with Hillsborough, Bradford & Sky , dragged the game into the modern era. Attending football is light years away from where it was back then, for people too young to remember it is pretty hard to describe quite how bad it could be. The gentrification of football has led to a loss of atmosphere, and some right Nod’s attending games, but change needed to happen.

Wasn’t Ralph their “direct line manager”? If Ralph wanted them gone, he should have told them face to face. If it was imposed on him, you’d hope he’d have spoken to them very very shortly after. If the last time they saw Ralph they knew nothing about this and he hasn’t been in contact since, it’s a pretty pretty poor show imo. Once I had redundancies imposed on my staff, 45 of them, and I personally thanked and said goodbye to every single one of them in person. It wasn’t my decision or my choice but they were my staff. Ralph seems a decent man, so I’d imagine he did the right thing. But if he hasn’t that’s not great imo.

You seem to be under the impression I’m a Tory. I voted for Boris to get Brexit done, admire the great lady, but can’t remember voting for any other Tory. I certainly didn’t vote for Johnny Major, & voted for Nigel above “call me Dave” . As Peter Hitchens says, the biggest obstacle to conservatism in this country is The Conservative Party. With a few honourable exceptions, they’re basically Lib Dems/New Labour. Parliament is a big blob of pinko Social Democrats drunk on spending our cash. -
Agreed, and Donnie Brasco is another one. Rip, he was an answer on the chase last night, and I said to my Mrs we hadn’t watched Goodfellas for a while. Sad news

Correct, which makes it really strange that you lefties and Tory Pinkos think throwing money around is always the answer. -
Their role isn’t to improve the coaching set up. Their role is to shield the manager and let the mug fans think the last lot were the problem, rather than the bloke who is actually running the show.

Careful, according to the party experts on here, it can be. You should have written “ if you’re a Tory and there’s alcohol present”. -
I’ve been very critical of Ralph for a while now, and initially took a lot of stick over it. I think he’s a pretty average manager who is over rated by some because of his managerial speak, his “passion”, and this Klopp of the alps pony. However, we need to be really careful, next season will be a strange one with a World Cup chucked into the middle of it. An experienced premier league manager could well be the best bet to manage the different nature of the season, which in turn limits who I’d want in charge. Im not saying that I particularly want Ralph back next season, but could understand if the club wanted to go in that direction. After all he did handle the break due to covid pretty well. Any normal season I’d want him gone, but experience could be very important this time around.
