  1. This hits the nail on the head. From an Irish paper, no sign of “Baz wins points for Saints by brilliantly putting off player”. There should be no debate.
  2. Which shots did he save that any other professional goal keeper from any league would not have saved?
  3. There shouldn’t be a debate. He tried to pass to one of our players and fucked it up and then he misjudged the flight of the ball. That’s it, two errors. Why are people trying to claim they weren’t? They weren’t one or two offs either, he’s made error after error all season and has cost us points. He’ll cost us more if he keeps playing, without the benefit of great saves in between as he doesn’t make anything other than routine saves.
  4. Perhaps this “putting off” goalkeeper style explains his awful positioning as well, he’s hoping the striker taking the shot is put off by his poor positioning. Maybe he’s actually ahead of his time and us dinosaurs can’t see it. In years to come the Baz putting off style will replace actually making saves, catching crosses and passing to our own players, standard goalkeeping skills will be a thing of the past.
  5. Horrendous again yesterday, he’s actually getting worse which takes some doing. I was told by someone close to Jones that he didn’t rate him, but was prepared to work to improve him. This suggests to me that he’s got the right attitude & is professional (you would just bin someone incapable of developing), that has to be the only explanation for his inclusion because it can’t be performance related.
  6. It was their poor finishing that won us the points yesterday, fuck all to do with our keeper. The superman impression at the end just summed him up, it was probably the worst goalkeeping display I’ve ever seen for a clean sheet. He’s going to cost us again if we don’t bin him now.
  7. We won despite him. He made two horrendous mistakes that any other week would have resulted in goals. He’s a clown and anyone who thinks he did nothing wrong has to be clueless.
  8. Shanks. Low block, is another one. What a load of old pony. The bird on BT now talking about Newcastle having a low block but occasionally using a med block. Pony.
  9. I agree. I think he’s looked ok recently, and ok is clearly better that “shit” which is the average level of the side at present. Although I think he’s mainly pony, I’d probably give Djneppo a run out as well. He’s different than anything else we’ve got, I’d send him out to be positive, run at them in the final third and make a nuisance of himself. We can then hook him at half time if he’s pony. Theres also no point in playing Tall Paul unless we’re going to get it in the mixer early. Wolves first half is probably the benchmark for playing with him. If we’re going to mince about, might as well play Adams. It’s shit or bust today, let’s fly at them.
  10. What’s that got to do with anything, it wasn’t as if VAR reviewed Saints indiscretions and not Grimsby’s. Both sides were subject to VAR reviews. I’m sure The Dog & Duck could argue that a goal against them would have been disallowed by a better professional ref, but it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference to the competition. Both sides had the same amateur ref, and both sides had VAR in our game. It’s a one off game, unlike the league other results don’t make a blind bit of difference so it’s no big deal if some have different officiating than others.
  11. The Nods moaning on here would be the first to moan Sat if Vardy gives JWP a dig but the ref decides he’s made a meal of it. They’d be crying it’s a red no matter how hard the punch. To have consistency you have to have black and white guidelines. Gone are the days when sides accepted different refs had different tolerance levels or different views on transgressions. The refs could decide the level of punishment based on the severity but fans & football would whinge that X was sent off and Y wasn’t. The rules are heading one way, handball will be next as they’ve pretty much taken intent out of it now anyway. The drive for consistency is to blame and that is driven by supporters, players and managers, not referees.
  12. It’s not a league competition, the rules in one particular game don’t affect any other team apart from the 2 involved in that particular tie. Some games in the competition have professional refs, some don’t. They’re one off events to decide which 2 teams progress, what difference does it make to Sheffield Utd or Blackburn if there’s VAR at Man C v Burnley?
  13. Every fucking week we lose you complain about the ref, VAR,offsides, cheating, every fucking time.
  14. “Get it wrong”, as in rule against Saints?
  15. Spot on. Some of the comments on here are so one eyed it’s fucking embarrassing. Noddy fucking excuses.
  16. He should have been coached properly and developed , not loaned out. His performances this season have shown that he’s a better prospect than players we’ve paid good money for. I don’t doubt that had VK been his manger here the past 2 seasons, he’d be better than Djennpo or Moi every day of the week
  17. What a load of old pony. You’re so biased it’s untrue. He’s been voted MoTM by their supporters twice recently. The supporters I speak to ( and living in poole I speak to many) all rave about him and the local press recently wrote this about him. “Stephens arrived at a time when Bournemouth were desperate for cool heads and stability, and that is certainly still the case now. Fortunately, he ticks both of these boxes. Every time he has played, especially across 90-minute outings, he has never looked pressurised or panicky. He truly appears a defender capable of excelling in both areas of the game, underlining exactly why Bournemouth moved to sign him. And it is this inherent reliability and unassuming focus on performing that has won over supporters in the blink of an eye. Such is the extent of his turnaround, if his deal were to be turned permanent at the end of the season, very few, if anyone, would complain.”
  18. It doesn’t look at every offside decision. It looks at every goal. That’s the VAR directive, read it before posting pony.
  19. Fuck sake. Are people still arguing about offside. It’s not a subjective decision, it’s a factual one. Just like the ball crossing the line, doesn’t matter if it’s over by 0000.1 mm it’s still a fucking goal. If you’re offside your offside, it’s always been the same. The only difference now is it’s judged by video not somebodies bins.
  20. No point in moaning about players exaggerating the slightest contact, that shipped sailed a long long time ago. We’re not talking about CR on Rooney or Argie against Beckham. It’s a div 4 player getting one over on us, that’s how fucking dopey it was.
  21. That’ll make him think twice.
  22. Fucking hell, the blokes who choose that must have been well oiled.
  23. Preferably?
  24. I reckon if Djneppo was in nets we’d still have the same number of points. Mind you, if Baz played wide midfield the same would probably apply.
