We went to a back 5 the last quarter tonight and the best striker in the country couldn’t get a sniff. There’s so much pony been written about jones, back 5 & “hoofball” on this thread it’s laughable. Now people are crying that he’s a “decisive figure”, and some are even trying to make out the criticism somehow contributed to the turnaround tonight.

Lyanco, fuck me he’s got some bollocks. To play like he has tonight & Sat after his horrendous performance last week really shows character. That’s why Jones likes him.

This result should buy him a bit of time, and release a bit of pressure. I’ve read countless posts where people have called him a twat, passive aggressive, chest thumping clown etc. but his reaction at the end was pretty classy imo, personally, I’d have given some of you the old Harvey Smith. Then called Blackmore a fat chump in my post match interview. Deserves credit for setting up the team properly & installing a bit of fight in the players. Long long way to go, but the bloke deserves this result tonight.

This is what I’d do. I’d make The Chapel safe standing, I’d move the family section to the Kingsland end of the Northam. I’d then make block one hideously expensive so if any muppets want to go next to the away fans and throw abuse, they’ll pay a premium for it. I’d then vigorously enforce regulations when policing the away end. If they persist in standing, then that club will have their allocation reduced the following season, same with swearing or general twatery towards our family section and throwing of flares. If they sit there quietly they’ll get a bigger allocation next time. If they take off their tops they’ll get a 2 year ban (chicks excluded) and if they urinate on the seats or ring a bell, they’ll get a life ban.

You’re pushing it if you think any replacement will get any say in recruitment. It’ll either be a rushed internal appointment (Selles?), or a protracted negotiation with a Dyche type figure. It would literally mean tearing up our plans and starting again, I just don’t see that happening in 3 weeks or less. Its really hard to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to analysis of Jones’ start. There’s a lot of legitimate concerns but also a pile on with some complete and utter pony written and broadcast. The hatred towards him is ridiculous & in some numpties eyes he can do no right. (Reminds me of Mrs Thatchers quote that some people seeing her walking on the Thames would shout “see, she can’t even swim”). He hasn’t made a great start, but deserves a bit longer imo.

So what your saying is when we play shit it’s jones fault. But when we play better, and win, it’s the players (with the help of the fans geeing them up). The half time turn around isn’t down to the manager, but the players dishing out a bollocking to the manager . No bias there then 😂

That’s a cop out. Define success this season. What does he need to have done by the end of may for you to say he’s done a decent job and deserves another season.

I think Lyanco deserves a shout out, it can’t be easy and we’ve seen players get worse and worse after making fuck ups (Bednarek for one). I’m not saying he’s a great player or should be starting, but he’s clearly got a pair of bollocks and a good mentality. There’s plenty of other centre halves who wouldn’t have fancied playing full back against Saha after the last couple of performances.

We do that in training every day.

I didn’t mind the jazz hands. It was the jazz hands when we won, but fucking off down the tunnel without acknowledging us when we lost that done my head in. That behaviour showed me exactly what sort of “leader” he was. If jones does the same, I’ll dig him out as well.
