  3. The public clearly disagree with Corbyn. Poll on sky tonight over who is doing a good job regarding Russia; May-61% think so. Steptoe-18% think so. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Funny how even Wee Krankie's foot soldiers and the mad Welsh bats lot were basically lining up behind the Govt and criticising Russia . Corbyn was isolated in the commons, with just a few soppy lefties thinking he acted properly . As a privy councillor he'll be fully aware of evidence not in the public arena. Russia left its finger prints all over this, but that's exactly what they wanted. How's Corbyn's performance this week going to play with floating voters? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Why do people just make up nonsense statements that are easily dispelled in the age of the internet. “Best ever start to a season”. Pony. Third game of the season they were knocked out of the league cup at home to a championship side and the week after a convincing 2-0 win over us, they lost 6-0 at home. In 1982 they had the equivalent of 43 points the same stage of the season Silva left, Silva had 23. They were top of the league after 6 games, including beating us 4-1 away and Sunderland 8-0. Only in your head did he give them their best ever start to a season. Silva had 1 win in 11 games and left them 5 points above relegation prior to his departure. His win % was 30.8%, only just above Walter Mazzarri 29.27% but below Quique Sánchez Flores’ 36.6%, both of whom were considered failures. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Interesting, better record than I'd remembered. Blackburn particularly impressive, although he still had a fantastic playing career fresh in the players memories, not sure that applies now. Seems to have been around forever, but is still quite young. The question for me is does he still have that burning desire , does it still eat him up inside . Does he still feel he needs to prove himself , if so, he could do a better job than most people think. Here's hoping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. That’s pretty impressive if you’re not doing it full time. I know I had a downer on the vocals, but that was when I thought you were pros. The biggest thing I’ve noticed with amateur bands is the vocals are normally Shiite. I’ve seen so many decent bands ruined by a lousy singer. My Mrs is always rolling her eyes when I get on my high horse around vocalists. As I said, not my cup of tea, but better than 90% of amateurs I’ve heard. My mate is in his early 40’s and he plays in a band. He’s a language teacher but plays gigs at weekends. They’re good, they play approx 75% covers, 25% originals, but they cleverly slot the originals in. They never announce them (announcing your self penned song is the amateur equivalent of Paul McC announcing, “here’s one from my latest album”, it kills the vibe), they fit them between similar style covers, most people don’t realise they’re playing originals, they just assume they’re covers of songs they don’t know. This gives my mate more satisfaction as they’re not just a wedding/covers band, and he gets to showcase his stuff, even though most of the audience don’t realise. This could be a way for you to go. Get a band together, make some decent pocket money and get your music is out there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Depends on the contract. My understanding was that Poch had a release or break clause, whereas Koeman didn't . Therefore we pretty much had no choice with Poch. We had a choice with Koeman, but he only had a year left on his deal and had absolutely no intention of signing a new one. The options open to us were to be managed by someone who didn't want to be here, probably end up doing what Watford did to Silva, or get some compo. Did Watford do the right thing, they ended up without Silva and without any compo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. What if this appointment works out, what if we finish 15th or god forbid stay up and reach the cup final. People with a decent track record who then rectify the big mistake they made, don’t deserve the sack imo. Appointing the wrong manager can’t be a sacking offence, it happens all the time. Bucking the trend and trying to stand by your manager shouldn’t be. Getting relegated is, but a near miss that you’ve rectified by a decent appointment???????? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. If you think Jokanović will leave Fulham now or Rowett Derby, you’re deluding yourself. Even if the wanted to ( and we’re not Barca) , their clubs would kick up one hell of a fight, we may just get him in place for the Bournemouth game at the end of April. Can you imagine their agent advising them to do so? It’s all well and good throwing names out there, anyone can do that. At least your other 2 names are realistic. Bilic, imo is no different from Hughes , apart from Hughes has more experience under his belt. Silva, although not my choice, would probably edge it of the 3 for me. However have you considered that maybe all 3 were contacted. I’d bet my life that we spent Sunday & Monday ( or even further back) putting feelers out. Speaking to friends, agents etc. Finding out whose interested. I’ve heard Silva’s nailed on for Everton still, maybe he turned us down. In the fullness of time it may come out that we had a choice of Hughes, Silva or Bilic. It may also come out that Brendan Rodgers was willing to walk out on Celtic for us, or Rowett was willing to fulfil his life long dream of leading The Saints. Then any criticism of the appointment is perfectly valid, but until you know the choices the board had you can’t really moan. I don’t know who was in the frame, but given the choice of Pell, Kelvin-Watson double act or Mark Hughes only a lunatic would prefer the other options. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Yes that’s what I mean about the bass. Again it’s just personal preference, I like stuff with prominent bass line. Some of McCartneys playing or someone like Rick Danko , although I’m a dinosaur so I wouldn’t take too much notice. Can I ask you a couple of questions as I’m genuinely interested. How old are you and is this your full time job. Also I think it’s amazing that only 2 of you can make that sound, but how does that relate to live performances. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I don't think there's any "love" just an understanding that our choices are extremely limited so late in the day and he's an upgrade on Pell. I don't think there's one person, including Les Reed who'd have picked him had this been pre season, but it's not. He's done ok at other clubs, nothing special but not quite as bad as you make out. It's all pretty irrelevant anyway. The only thing that matters is can he get 1 more win than Huddersfield, West Ham or Swansea or pick up the same points as palace with our squad? 13. I'm in call tonight, so had some time to listen. I thought it was pretty decent , certainly better than the rubbish my 17 & 18 year olds listen to. I wouldn't buy it (doubt if I'm your target audience anyway) but equally wouldn't turn over the station if it came on the radio. Personally, I prefer the bass being further forward (if that's the right term) and the singer doesn't do it for me. Sorry if that's you, he's in tune and I'm not sure what the correct expression is, but I'm not that keen on that sort of style. That's just me, there's plenty of famous singers that I feel the same way about, particularly in heavy rock/metal type stuff. I don't know if the songs are covers or self composed but they're pretty good & well written imo. All in all pretty decent for a first EP. Good luck with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Doesn’t time fly. Who’d have thought Euro 2000 was 30 years ago. If beating Germany in tournament footballs the criteria, let’s bring KK back to Saints Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. He left Watford because he wanted to go to Everton and had also told 3 of the players he wanted them to follow him. Watford sacked him because of the disruption they felt the Everton interest had caused. That was told to me by a coach at another premier league set up, where my nephew is involved. Also told he will replace Fat Sam in the summer. However I’m not dissing SKD’s info because things change. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Im beginning to think the only thing it can be is we have our ideal replacement lined up, who is willing to join no matter which league we are in, but he can’t or won’t start until the summer. Nothing else makes sense Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. We’ve more chance of picking up home points with him gone. The atmosphere will improve whoever replaces him. My view is there’s 3 types of appointment we can make. 1) Short term end of season, then thanks goodbye. Players pick up on that and our lazy arrogant twts particularly. If you’ve got the personality or standing in the game, a Hiddick or Benetez you can get away with it, but if not the players will take the ****. 2) Short term, keep us up and the jobs yours. Problem with that is you’re sometimes lumbered with someone totally unsuitable long term. Everton-Fat Sam, springs to mind. 3) The man we want, regardless of what division we’re in. Problem with this option is he maybe in a job or unwilling to join at this stage of season. It’s a delicate balancing act, but if it was me I’d get Mark Hughes or someone similar, tell them the gigs there’s if we stay up. Then ruthlessly bin him for my preferred option in the summer if he does keep us up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Nick Ferrari brought it up on LBC this morning, said its assault and he should be treated as a fan would caught doing it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. What a ****. Doubt if he’ll survive that. The bloke on the phone is a complete twt, **** me if someone spat on my daughter I wouldn’t be all “ look Jamie Carraghar just spat on my daughter”, I’d have lost it with the bloke , he’d probably have battered me, but raw emotion would have taken over. The only person who emerges with any credit is the daughter, she’s more grown up then the other 2 put together Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. They were a shambles first half, lucky not to be 3 or 4 down at half time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Doesn’t make chances? Who was that who headed the ball back for the wonderful football brained Gabbi at Burnley? Gabbi has looked as ineffective under this manager, isolated up front, he’d have struggled playing alone yesterday every bit as much as Carrillo did. Carrillo was one of the only ones who did his best yesterday, his best is pretty average, but he gave his all. To decide he doesn’t look like a premiership footballer after a dozen games, playing alone in a struggling side lacking confidence, under a poor manager is just nonsense. You can’t have seen enough of him to make that judgement, as he hasn’t played enough games or played for a half competent manager. He may turn out to be a dud, as Gaston or Juanmi were, then you can pat yourself on the back safe in the knowledge that you’re such a great judge of a player. You can even see which ones lack a “football brain”. On the playing side the issue isn’t him, the issue is international players giving half arsed arrogant performances. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. That’s what I don’t understand about Reeds position. He’s given the guy a mid table squad and Pell is royally ****ing it up. By not sacking him, he’s in effect accepting he’s given him a Shiite squad. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Agree. Also the right sort of centre half would have helped Stephens & Wes become better players. I like Yoshida but he doesn’t come across as an organiser or leader. There’s decent players in there somewhere, but they’re both shell shocked at the moment. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
