They’re obsessed.

If he’s called up for national service, we could always see if they’ll let Baz do it in his place. No need to worry about him returning from the front line safely, he defo won’t catch a bullet .

Thanks for all the recommendations & advice. Normally I take weeks to make my mind up, but I'm concerned the situation in the Middle East will probably drive prices up. Firstly people who would normally head that way for winter sun may look in the other direction, and secondly, the price of flights going up with fuel increases. Went with a mixture of AI & Gloucester, so booked Grenada.

Fucking miserable twats, we beat Manchester City in a home quarter final, a side which then won the treble the same season. Let’s hope the players aren’t as negative as some of our nods…

And the champions league. You’re going to need to beat a top side to get to the final. If you’re looking at Liverpool & Chelsea who may have fuck all else to play for by then, or Arsenal home in the one competition they’d sacrifice, I’d take Arsenal home over the others. Beat them, then Brentford West Ham or Leeds in the semi

Away to City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool

Proper penalty for that moment. I’m not against the stupid mincing run ups and giving the keeper the eyes, but not in the last minute. Last minute you make the keeper make a world class save to keep it out.

If this happens they’ll be some calling for his head. Danny Rohl would have won the cup and got us promoted…

I thought he played well, is clearly a big character and a leader, which is exactly what we needed after The Ghost. Early on he made a routine save down to his left from a well hit shot that went through someone’s legs, exactly the type of shot Baz would have let in, or spilled at best. Excellent punch in the second half as well. Took one in the face, would Baz have spread himself like that, I doubt it. Only Baz moment was from the offside goal where he probably could have done better with the initial header. IMO, he’s not as good as Ramsdale, yet,hes getting there though. But he’s far far superior than Baz. There’s absolutely no doubt about that…

Has anyone been to Grand Anse Beach area of Grenada . I put our requirements into AI (good value, safe, walking distance to beach & nightlife, friendly, lively for 40+ ) and it came back with that.
-
Has got the players playing for him, no doubt about that. Yes we’ve got a decent squad, but he’s got them all playing at their best (except maybe Fellows). Unless we shit the bed the next couple of months, he’s probably got the job for next season regardless of whether we make play offs. Few can say he doesn’t deserve that opportunity.

Some of them use the term coconut, and also assume a non white is an immigrant.

We have some well travelled posters, so was looking for some advice. The old snap dragon fancies The Caribbean for our winter holiday next Jan. We can’t be doing with AI and like to go out and about in the evening. We’re looking for somewhere relatively lively, but with a local feel, safe and good value for money. St Lawrence Gap Barbados looks about right, but quite pricey. Jamaica, cheaper but a bit dodgy. Looking at Grenada or maybe Antigua, but open to suggestions. Anyone got any experience of different Islands and which areas would suit a couple of 60 year olds, who think they’re 40. No “romantic” suggestions please….

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Since the turn of the century, Governments have reflected the public’s position on this. There is just no appetite for defence spending and people believed there was a peace dividend which could be spent on other stuff. It would take an incredibly special leader to go against that prevailing view and we just don’t have these sort of politicians anymore. They probably would have lost an election anyway, defence spending was pretty much a settled issue. If Argentina invaded The Falklands today, we wouldn’t be able to get them back, but more importantly, a sizeable proportion of the country would think “so fucking what”. Personally, I don’t believe people would think it was worth people losing their lives over. -
EFL to vote on extending the Championship playoffs
Lord Duckhunter replied to badgerx16's topic in The Saints
This is exactly right. How many teams would be playing for nothing this season if there were no play offs. From Hull down to Charlton, a dozen maybe, and we’re only just out of Feb. Add to that Sheffield Weds and it’ll be a pretty boring league. I guess because of my age I look at it as 2 up (like the old days) with an extra opportunity for the next 4 top teams who weren’t good enough to go up automatically. -

I’d bring in a no penalties rules as well. If the tie ends in a draw after ET the team which finished higher wins. Even the final should be included. To go through or get promoted, you should have to beat any team which finished above you, not win a penalty shootout against them. -

It wasn’t funny the first time you posted it, so I’d give it a miss if I was you… -
I’d love West Ham or Spurs to go down instead of Forest, but I hope city score. The fucking love in with Arsenal is sickening. I had to turn over, you’d thing Declan Rice was the second coming of Bobby Charlton the way the commentator and dopey bird side kick are going on.

He thinks Farage can do similar to what Starmer did when he kicked out Corbyn, use it as a tool to show they’re not extreme. Corbyn kicked one bloke out to show he’d “changed” the party, when the reality was it was pretty much the same. Farage can do similar “the extremists are over there”. The Lowe’s of this world are helping with that strategy by attacking him all the time and coming out with policies Nigel can criticise. Personally, I think Lowe & Musk would do more damage by supporting him, rather than criticising Nigel.
-
I’ll take James Johnson’s view over this, pollster who used to write for the Guardian ( so not “far right”). He claims away from Twitter nobody knows who the fuck Rupert is. Claims a party to the right of Reform will strengthen Nigel and enable him to pick up more ex Tory voters. He said he’ll be able to define himself against them, so Musk, Robinson, Fox and Lowe are doing him a favour. He’ll gain more votes from ex Tories previously reluctant to vote for him, if that wing all fuck off to Restore.

If Davey”s “heart is in the right place” why did he pretend he didn’t know ex pats start paying tax as soon as they return to reside in the UK. Playing to the gallery, like every other politician….

In other words, the bloke I agree with. You’re so predictable. Starmer has his heart in the right place, probably more so than the fat fraud Sir Edward.
