  1. It wasn't a peado thing, he booked to share a hotel room with a male aide. My mate in the press told me years ago Hague batted for the other side ( I actually posted it on a saints web 2010 election before this story broke). Said that his marriage was politically motivated , and that the rumours he'd heard ( but could not publish due to a certain thing called libel) were of a " relationship" between Hague and a famous ex Olympic runner.
  2. It was hot on the heels of the Jeremy Thorpe case , to have allegations like this over another senior liberal would have been disastrous for them. Bearing in mind they only had a handful of seats at the time, it would probably have finished them off.
  3. Glen Johnson trying hard to save Liverpool that money. He's dog shiete , looks like he could have another premier league medal, what a joke.
  4. Nobody saw it, not one city player appealed and both commentators missed it. I even said to my lad " great header". It was only on reply anybody realised he'd punched it.
  5. I think its more a case of. One player didn't want to be here and found a club to pay us what he's worth. And one player doesn't want to be here , but nobody will pay anything like the money we paid.
  6. Neither of them are good enough. But one is supposed to be international class.
  7. I'm not saying we shouldn't have let him go or indeed should buy him back. I am just contrasting his performances for palace with Gaston's for us. If anybody thinks Gaston will come good in a saints shirt , they are deluded. He is not good enough, time to get rid.
  8. The ones I know absolutely love twitchy and you would think he was the founding father of Poole and the only bloke who ever lived in sandbanks the way the local media love him. Although to be fair to the satchel faced twt he does do a lot of local charity and presentation dos
  9. How many more chances are the Gaston fans going to give him. He's been a complete and utter waste of money, even the incident when he got injured today was pathetic. Looked like a ballerina trying to bring the ball down in a great position. The sooner we get rid the better. Contrast his impact with the one punch has made at palace and then compare the fee.
  10. All froth and no beer. No urgency until clyne came on. Ran out of ideas and why the ****ing hell don't we shoot.
  11. Bloody hell Viking ever since they questioned you for smoking in the airport you seem to have a real problem with the police. They are only doing their job.
  12. Im mortgage free, apart from the money I owe the building society..
  13. I moved to Poole in '91 ( funny enough from Oakland park FLA, bearing in mind your name) and I was surprised the amount of saints fans on the train. Some of my best mates now were first encountered on the train up to the dell. There isnt really an anti Bournemouth feel about the place, its more of a "I'm from Poole" mentality. Why would I support Bournemouth, its a different town is the feeling, particularly in the old parts and around hamworthy . The nearer you get to Bournemouth the less that's the feeling, but Poole people are Poole people, they don't ever say or think "Poole, near Bournemouth". The football club aren't even Bournemouth's club, that was Bournemouth poppies, they were boscombe cherries , then Bournemouth & Boscombe and now Bournemouth. Somebody once told me that Poole is the largest town to have never had a football league club. People have many and varied reasons for supporting saints from Poole. My 4 children do because I was born in Southampton and brainwashed them, even though they've no other ties to the city. I think most of the support stems from Poole people wanting to watch first division football back in the late 60's and 70's and the transport links being pretty good. I think this generation then influenced others, nephews, kids etc and the support just grew. I've certainly never heard people say the don't like Boscombe out of any chip on their shoulder over town size or proximity. Any dislike of boscombe is down to their wannbe a skate behaviour, their fawning of twitchy or their blind hatred of us. They really do resent BH Saints even more than they hate Man u or arsenal supporters living in Poole. It never used to be like this, its a very new thing. What makes me laugh is sometimes they moan about "glory hunters". Glory? ****ing hell .
  14. What the **** are you on about? I Remember posting in the echo after we won 3-1 at dean court and your chump of a sports reporter claimed;it was lucky, our centre halves were like laural and hardy ( funny how one is still playing fir us in the top flight) and that Nigel Adkins celebrated the win like he'd won the FA cup. The article was bitter, unprofessional and inaccurate and I posted my thoughts on this pathetic attempt at match reporting. Other than that im struggling to recall ever posting in "local papers". Im actually struggling with the local papers bit. There's the echo , and then what? The advertiser ? Do they have a comments section, cause that's all we get in Poole? Maybe you get a Saga one in Bournemouth maybe "welfare weekly " in Boscombe although i think the Liverpool echo or Glasgow herald might count as local papers in Boscombe. However , I've never posted in them either, and i certainly wouldn't post in any of the publications sold around the triangle. So dont really know what on earth you're on about.
  15. They have a pretty big catchment population wise , but their support is shocking. Poole, Christchurch, ferndown, wimborne, Wareham, not to mention the outskirts of Bournemouth itself , kinson,Winton, southbourne, westbourne, boscombe. Poole and Bournemouth is basically one conurbation with good transport links to dean court. Living and working in BH postcode for 20 years I've probably only met a handful of genuine supporters, the rest support a big club as well. Eddie Mitchell was as shady as they come and this new owner has Gaydamak written all over him. It is not some sort of fairy story this, they're following the twitchy /storrie business model, with a little less money. They are buying players there's no way they can afford.
  16. Living in a BH postcode I can tell you their supporters are in the main twts. They are wannebe skates who give it scummer this and scummer that nonsense. It never used to be like this (I've been in Poole 20 years) its really only since twitchy became a skate. They hero worship twitchy , which is another reason to hate them. Every Boscombe fan I've ever known any length of time is always Liverpool & Boscombe or Chelsea & Boscombe. There ain't many who are Boscombe through and through. Our game at SMS I saw loads of lads I know out side the encore , and most of them supported other clubs. That's the way it is down here. Not only are they wannabe skates, but they are following their business model. They are throwing serious money around in wages and spending well above their level. Last time they did this well ,they were throwing massive wages around under twitchy and it ended in tears and its going to be the same this time. Eddie Howe has done a decent job, but he's a bitter skate. He showed no class when we done them a couple of years back . There are some in the train i get to saints who'd like to see him replace MP if he left, but im not too sure. Remember he bottled it at Burnley and ran home to mummy. It would be funny laughing at some of the Mini Me Skates if he came to us, but im not so sure id want him. If people had to hear the bitterness against us I hear, you wouldn't want them promoted. Most of them respect skates and hate us.
  17. I wonder what the lefties make of the revenue figures that the top rate of tax has bought in an extra £9 billion since it was cut. As Nigel Lawson proved 30 years ago ,higher tax rates does not mean more money. Setting tax rates to "punish" the rich is counter productive , it should be set at a rate that produces most revenue.
  18. I remember a story which I heard about or read about, can't quite remember where. A guy had 2 children, one of which was always asking for a loan. The father never asked for any money back and none was ever offered and it went on for years. Fast forward to the father's passing and the will. The dad left everything to the child that didn't ask for money and left nothing for the child that had spent years sponging off him. There was also a note for that child explaining that the will didn't mean they were loved less or anything like that , it was just that "you had your share whilst I was alive".
  19. Hope you dont mind a younger parent contributing. Im nearly 50 but have 4 children 2 of which are in their late and mid 20's. We have bailed out one in particular many times, he's a good lad but a bit dopey sometimes. He's paid us back intermittently, but I've always taken the view that it upsets my mrs to see him worried and that's worth some cash to put her mind at rest. My other halfs old fella is pretty wealthy and I know he's helped him before as well ( although he doesn't know we know). I guess it all depends what the kids need it for and how flush you are. I've always tried to put myself in my dads shoes and think "what would dad do" if it was me wanting money. My dad wasn't well off, so its a better comparison than her old man. Funny thing is I get more annoyned with the little amounts than the "loans". When I buy him a match ticket or we get on the train and he has yet to "visit the cash point" ,so I have to buy the train ticket. If he offered to pay or tried to pay, id probably say no, but the fact he doesn't grates. I guess we'll always be coughing up for certain kids, im going to get pay back by being a miserable old twt when im old hanging around as long as I can.
  20. I've thought all along it'll be Carroll or Lambert. He'll want a traditional number 9.
  21. Shocking pundits, Owen wtf. David James a complete and utter plum. Gary Neville has raised the bar and even carra when you work out what he's said. They give you a genuine insight into the game, that the layman won't see. Keano's the same, but most if them are like younger lawro and crooks.
  22. Does Glasgoat's "injury table" take into account who is injured? Did Gazza playing today give us 2 points as both kelv and Artur were missing, or 1 point because you only play one keeper. Also does an injury to jos and lovren count as the same. If so, that's clearly nonsense. The way I look at it you could have your first team play every game with 6 of the stiffs injured each week and be top of the amazing "injury table" despite having a full team every week with none injured. Therefore, I've come to the conclusion that this table is a pointless waste of time.
  23. I hope the club aren't scrimping on the away end decorating to fund this.
  24. Today was probably his best performance in a saints shirt. He was still shocking, but he did manage to actually save a couple. Today I would put him in the "he's a useless keeper" bag whereas normally its " has he ever played in nets before". Normally its shot-goal in between cock Ups. Today he did look like a keeper, a ****ie one , but that's an improvement Its not the guys fault , its the clubs. They knew AB seems a bit injury prone and that super kelv is knocking on a bit so they should have got someone in during the window.
