  1. Somewhen soon JWP has to live up to this " potential " he's supposed to have . Personally I don't see it .Really good young players shine bright and then dip , they're inconsistent . I just don't see the ups with him , he's average at best . Whens he ever got you off your seat the way Jack Grelish did for spells last season . Ross Barclay can look class at times, Alli is having a great spell at the moment. JWP is just meh, week in week out . Perhaps he's got something that the professional eye can see that a fat 50 year old supporter can't , but I'd wish he'd hurry up and show it on a match day . What's he got apart from a great set piece ritual ? Looking the part by bouncing the ball , making a signal , looking up, is all well and good but when's he going to actually do something concrete? Being England captain at under 21 level means **** all if 5 of your age group play in the seniors . If the under 21 side was made up of all eligible players he wouldn't get a game .
  2. Unless you're one of the top top sides you're always going to get 2 or 3 of those performances each season . Stoke played well , defended well and had a crispness with their passing that we lacked . Classie played ok & personally I thought VvD did ok but other than that the rest were pretty ordinary . As well as he's played this season I wouldn't want Pelle in the trenches with me . Moaning at others and the booking was a effing disgrace , a selfish act . The ban is bad enough , but we needed the ball back in play quickly . The only upside is he'll miss a game that's pretty much a no hoper anyway . Substations were poor Juanmi looked like a little boy lost ,& JWP ****ing words fail me how slow he is . In one instance running after the ball I think I'd have got there quicker and I'm 50 and had 6 pints in my belly . Shocking .
  3. George Galloway and Portillio talking complete sense, strange to find myself agreeing with Galloway, bit he was spot on.
  4. Best half hour I've seen on TV about this was "This week" last night . Andrew Neil gave a great opening speech against ISIS , with good contributions from Portillio , Liz Kendall and some army bloke whose name I didn't catch because Mrs duck started nagging on for a few secs . Star of the show talking some real sense was George Galloway . Showed lefties everywhere how poor Corybin really is . Said you have to be unequivocal when talking about protecting the nation ,said he would shoot to kill them with his own hands and watch them die in the street. Talked of the many varied reasons for the conflicts , about forming an alliance with Russia and other sensible things . Very impressive contribution.
  5. Red Ken on LBC saying he won't apologise , says the bloke needs to " get over it"
  6. Interesting listening to the spectator podcast last week ( pre Paris ) . Foreign affairs expert said his first thought when he heard Isis had bombed a Russian plane was they had a death wish . He told a story which he claimed had been confirmed by reliable sources about Lebanon 25 odd years ago . Around the time of terry Waite ect being held hostage a Russian diplomat was captured. The next day a package turned up a suspected ringleaders place . When opened it contained the genitals of the said leaders own son . The next day the Russian was released and Russians were off limits . Russians like the Israelis won't mess about
  7. The cretins to blame are the mp's that " lent" their vote to get him on the ballot . The leader is voted for by the membership and a majority of them are lefties . The only way to stop them electing a leftie loon like Corbyn is to limit the ballot to moderate candidates . That's the whole reason that the PLP impose a threshold , a threshold the cretins gerrymandered . How on earth is he going to be replaced when the members are so much in favour of him? It's inconceivable that the existing leader won't be on a membership ballot in the event of any challenge , so how on earth are they going to get him out ?
  8. I would say that mainstream Muslim views on women and gays is pretty backward , and the loony fringe of the religion ,medieval .
  9. I'm getting confused . I thought anything in the Daily Fail was horse shiete, lefties posting links to it. Strange times indeed. There is a lot you can throw at Old Jezza ,from his incompantance , to the total abandonment of some " principles" . This however is not a stick to beat him with. The leader of the opposition can't go round spouting off and commenting every 5 minutes , if he did he'd be accused of making political capital out if it. Old Jezza has behaved perfectly respectfully and correctly at present , whether that continues if Cameron wants to go into Syria and bomb their medieval arses is another matter . As is his support for any additional powers our protectors want , but at the moment he's done nothing wrong .
  10. I was always told to carry id in France as the police can hold you for up to 4 hours whilst they establish who you are . I would imagine that the bombers travelled separately from the weapons and therefore may have had id on them in case they were stopped during the journey to meet up with the weapons . Maybe they calculated that showing a passport would arouse less suspicion than having no ID. It's not like they were wanted for anything at that time, so would have shown the passport and be sent on their way. Obviously it's speculation, but that makes more sense than somebody planting a passport on a dead bomber or somebody making up a factious passport story . I would have thought if there was going to be a cover up by the establishment it's more likely to involve covering up the fact they came in via Greece than make up thy they did when they didn't . As it shows the utter failure of their beloved EU to police its border. Didn't they identify the ones that came via Greece by the fingerprints taken when they applied for asylum anyway?
  11. Lol , good excuse . He just like all the others , an unprincipled professional politician . New politics , my arse.
  12. He's ****ing ditching all his principles pretty quickly . Republician that now will sing the dirge . White poppy pacifist that now wears a red one. Kissing The queens hand , bottling it over trident . Is this the " new politics" he's been going on about , because it looks pretty much like the old one to me .
  13. There's no doubt Pelle is in the form of his life and really playing well this season , certainly better than i thought he could . Normally I'd be all for extending his contract. However, we need to be careful . Last thing we want is a big earner, who is older , just tipping over the hill, especially if Ron is on his bike. We could get lumbered if the new man doesn't fancy him . Hopefully les and co are onto a replacement and we will get maximum money by selling at exactly the right time .
  14. Nonsense . They were **** poor defending set pieces . Giroud had 3 simple headers he should have buried. VvD and Jose would have defended better than that , poor defending cost them the game . I wouldn't swap Rose for RB and Walkers no better than Cedric .
  15. Agreed . Shocking from the ref . Whether he touched Remy is ( or at least should be ) irrelevant . He had to take action to avoid being clattered . I expect Remy got some serious clog from the senior pros & coaching staff , as it was pretty simple to just allow the keeper to hit you and make sure it's a pen . You may get hurt , but you've got to take one for the team . They're down to 10 and it's 1-1 ( provided the pen goes in) . Personally , I'm not so sure it was a question of Remy " doing the right thing" more a case of jumping out the way to avoid injury . He should have let the keeper clean him out and then there's no chance the ref won't give it. There's nothing in the rules that says if you can avoid being fouled you must jump out of the way.
  16. He looks like a bit of a steady Eddie to me . Never really makes a save that has you thinking " how did he get to that " but never really let's one in that should be saved . He saves ones he should save and lets in the ones that he shouldn't . On the whole I'm pretty positive about him , comfortable with his feet , experienced and seems to give the back 4 confidence . Would be happy for him to sign permanent as him and FF is a pretty decent one & two
  17. Alan Johnson ex home sec , and no friend of Cameron's said that there is no doubt that Cameron will have had rock solid inteligence before making a statement like that . To put it in the Labour " good day to bury bad news" bag is nonsense.
  18. Where was he today ? Injured , or not wanted/rated by Ron despite being short of attacking bench options . Perhaps one of his many supporters could enlighten me.
  19. I think the story is that 40% of black managers got the sack on the same day . Why do you think that there are only a handful of black managers when there are so many black players?
  20. By " most people watching " I assume you mean you, unless youve conducted some sort of poll. Howard Webb said technically it was a second yellow , but said the ref was " managing" the game and wanted to keep 11v11 & Graham Poll wrote in his article that it was a mistake and Lucas should have gone . I'll take those ex refs views over " most people watching". My point is that is not for refs to" manage " the game ,but to apply the rules. Its not for them to decide whether a game stays 11v11. Swearing at the ref is another example. If the rules are that it carries a red card punishment , then a red card should be shown. If it means games up up being spoilt because its 9 v 8 that's the players fault , not the ref. Refs are not applying the rules consistently , you'll never stamp out mistakes as they're only human, but they are not helping themselves .
  21. The problem with referees isn't the lack of videos but of consistency . More and more they are being encouraged to " manage " the game , rather than follow the rules . Once they start " managing " the game , you end up with unfairness and inconsistent decisions . Lucas committed a yellow card offence against Chelsea which should have resulted in a sending off . Tough decision to make , which maybe changes the whole game, so clattenburg " manages " the game and keeps 11v11. Much easier for the same ref to send Palaces Gayle off for 2 yellows or for Sundays ref to send Victor off with minutes left . Funny how in the interests of keeping 11v11 the big clubs seem to be the ones benefitting .
  22. A bit of Carly Simon , " Nobody does it better " would be good as well. They'd could all join in with " Baby, we're the best"
  23. Don't quite know what happened there , at 2-0 they were gone , finished , yet we were so poor second half that we gave them a sniff . Just glad it was boscombe , because a half decent side would have punished us ( as Leicester did). . I thought Cedric was our best player second half, defended well .
  24. I live and work amongst them . The "two team " ones are giving it large , but the two I know who have only , and do only support Boscombe , are bricking it. One of my oldest mates has followed them through thin & thin and I'm travelling up with him tomorrow , he's said he'll be happy with anything under 3-0 . He reckons they're shocking defensively
  25. I would be OK if this " second booking " unwritten rule was applied across the board , but its not . ****enburg sent Dwight Gayle off for 2 bookable offenses , but lets Lucas off for his second one . I guess one plays for palace and one for a big club .
