  1. No. They're obviously not . However , the way their religion treats women , gays and other groups they " disapprove " of , is at odds with living in a free & liberal society like ours .
  2. Poor goal just before half time again and it's cost us . The whole season we've conceded goals from our corners , we've gifted goals and we've conceded at poor times . I really think it's down to conplacency and lack of concentration . Things that the manager needs to drive into players . We're too nice , Rons too nice . It may have been what we needed last season but this season we need some rollickings thrown around . Worrying signs that Ron just doesn't demand enough or push the players quite enough imo . Forget about missing chances , that happens . They were so poor that one goal is all it needs and we got that . I can just about take a Shelvey thunderbolt or a Delph one , which have cost us points in games we should have won . But that was a shocking goal to concede. We should have come off 1-0 , moaning about missing chances . Steve Davis motm for me . Tadic good for 10 mins , Pelle showed some good movement down the channels first half but reverted to type the second . Jose looked dodgy to me today & Big Vic needs ****ing sorting out he's just going through the motions . Typical JWP performance , average yet again . All in all we looked an average aide , managed by an average manager. We're at a crossroads as all I can see is drift and that starts from Koeman. He needs to get into a few of them , kick some of them , knock them out of their comfort zone . The whole club needs to get a bit nastier .
  3. I see Jezza , who has kept away from Oldham since turning up for the launch of the campaign , has rushed up there . You really do wonder if these Corbynistas know how elections work . Piling up votes in labour strongholds won't get you one extra seat .
  4. Just watching " This week" & it looks to me that Labour have elected the wrong Corbyn . His brother talking complete sense on the man made global warming con and how this con is making the poor poorer.
  5. Just shows how shockingly poor he Is, he can't even get on the bench . The bizarre attitude isn't with the ones who agree with the manager , but the ones who hang onto this deluded dream that he's actually a good player . There are 3 explanations for his lack of game time . 1. You & other Gastonettes know more about football than Poch & Ron . 2. Poch & Ron actually think he's really good , but can't or won't play him . 3. He's a shocking waste of money who is incapable of having a career in the premiership .
  6. If he was good enough we would .
  7. Do you think Ronald Koeman would have taken Boscombe up to the Premiership?
  8. God , I hope I'm not turning into some sort of leftie or even a pinko , but I find myself in agreement with George Galloway again. He said yesterday that Corbyn needs to confront his shadow cabinet & plp sometime and there won't be a better subject to make a stance over than bombing Syria . It was very easy for the pro interventionists to vote against (Cameron hasn't " made the case", the UN resolution is too wooly, there's no post conflict plan ) and in normal political times they would . However, they will continue to rebel on issue after issue to make Jezzas leadership untenable . With this issue he has more public support than most others , even people like Peter Hitchens are against it, but also an issue that people who are opposed to Corbyns stance will still credit him with sticking to his convictions and being authentic. Its quite hard to equate voting against this motion with being a leftie loon opposed to British values . Because Corbyn has bottled this one and given the shadow cabinet a free vote ,George mantains when he does grasp the nettle and face them down, it'll be on an issue ( most likely Trident ) that the voters will be in a massive majority against him and also it'll be an issue where he can be portrayed as unpatriotic or extreme and the plp as the reasonable ones. He should have forced resignations over this because they will come one day and that day will be more damaging to his leadership.
  9. Can you imagine the fury from lefties & the bbc if Nigel Farage addressed a segregated audience ? Shameful in the present climate that labour panders to these sexist chumps in the chase for votes . It's 2015 for gods sake .
  10. There can be only one winner of the award of worst manager , Ian Branfoot. Look at the way we played before him & then after him, with similar resources . He had Alan Shearer one season and was still shiete . Jimmy Case , Matt Le Tiss , the bloke was ****ing clueless. Second worst Redknapp , that team should never have gone down. WBA were shocking & Robson a crap manager, yet they stayed up. Chucking away 2 or 3 winning positions and then the bottling of the skate game particular low points. Third , Wotte. Was involved with Jan P from day one . Whereas Jan seemed a genuinely decent guy , Wotte was a arrogant chump . One bloke I never really took to was Dave Jones but his record keeps him out of my bottom 3 .
  11. Its a tough one because Ron worked wonders after the summer we had . However, some of the football we played under Pochettino was the best since Chris Nicholl . Some of the movement going forward was sublime, Fulham away & Hull at home stick in my mind. I don't really care about stats and debuts and who blooded who. My opinion is that Poch trusted young players more than Ron does. Would Poch have played Toby in centre mid or given Harry R a go ? Ron wins a personality contest hands down but Poch edges the managerial stakes at this moment in time imo
  12. Because I can not decide which was better , they are joint number one . Sorry if that breaks your rules.
  13. Juanmi did OK yesterday
  14. Agreed ,for the modern era I thought they were OK
  15. 1. Lawrie/Ted 2. Chris Nicholl 3. Bally 4. WGS 5. Goddle 6. Adkins 7. Poch
  16. I think the complete opposite is true . Because of our previous sucsessful academy players people are desperate for him to be next off the production line . It's a victory for hope over reality. The press want to write " another one" from saints academy, the club obviously want it and supporters want it , but it's really not going to happen . Had we signed him from abroad he'd be called a waste of money . When are we going to start seeing performances that live up to the hype , because he's been around the first team 4 years and has yet to produce anything that convinces me he's anything other than Andrew Surman mk2 ?
  17. Let's flog him quick then . It reminds me of the Emperors new clothes , lets get rid in Jan before someone shouts out "he's bollocko" .
  18. Yeah, bloke was banging on about Gaston getting " a chance" the whole tube ride
  19. People are only giving their opinions , what are they meant to do? Pretend they think hes a good player? He's average at best , not a patch on Jack Cork and nowhere near Steve Davis' level. He's a "nearly" player, nearly makes a tackle, nearly takes a great set picece, nearly makes a killer pass. I don't care how old he is , if he picks up a wage packet , if he talks about England, if he is an adult , I'll judge him on what I see. What's he actually good at, he's got to be our slowest player, hes weak in the tackle, he can't score, he doesn't have a trick or beat people , hes a set piece specialist, who doesn't actually create anything , what exactly are his strengths, OK forget strengths, name one strength he's got.Being young or passing sideways are not strengths .
  20. Terrible day , from being refused entry to the real ale pub I visit every time I'm up there ( change of policy on away fans) , getting soaking wet walking to ground, sw trains ****ing the buses up , to the final insult of getting stuck with a Gastonette on the tube journey from Euston to Waterloo. And all for about £150 , for what ? 30 minutes performance? Vic & OR were shocking , Yoshida wtf , JWP anonymous yet again. Second half was obviously better, but even if we'd gone 2-3 , reckon they'd have still done us . Our better display second half was as much to do with them stepping off the pace as us playing well. You can not go to a champions league ground without playing the best available side and can not give them a two goal start . Its as simple as that . I prey that Ron did it to concentrate on Weds , because if he really believes that was our best side for that game, he needs shooting. Plus points was the performance of all 3 subs . Tadic gave us extra quality , Juanmi didn't look like a little boy lost, and I thought Cauker did well. Mane was head & shoulders above the rest of our side and Long was Long and worked really hard. If JWP does have this " future England " player tag, lets sell in Jan before other clubs cotton on that he's a myth.
  21. Slowing down the rate you increase spending is not cutting . Nobody is denying that there have been cuts in certain areas , but that's an argument over priorities and where the money we spend is spent . You can even argue that we need more government spending , but " cuts" in overall government spending are non existent or minuscule at best . This government is doing exactly what Alister Darling planned to do and it's only sustainable whilst we have growth .
  22. There is a debate to have about how and where money is spent , but Government is not and has not cut its spending in real terms by anything other than a minuscule amount . It's a strange definition of " austerity " .
  23. Osborne is basically a New Labour chancellor, this was an Alister Darling review ,following on from an Alister Darling " deficit reduction " plan . Austerity? My arse . That's still to come , most likely when our children or grandchildren get a politician with the balls to sort out the mess we'll leave them . There's not much difference in real terms spending since 2010 and whilst some indidual areas have faced cuts , overall there's been pretty much naff all. Ask the Irish or the Greeks about austerity , our version is just smoke and mirrors. The country was ready for austerity, voted for austerity and then this " so called " Tory party tinkered around the edges. The worst thing is the country thinks it has had austerity when the reality is so different. What a wasted opportunity , history will judge these " one nation " clowns as harshly as that bumbling idiot Heath. It suits Labour to bang on about " cuts" , suits Tories to pretend there are " cuts" . Its like some sort of wwf bout , fixed and fake with everybody playing the part the public expect . Someone needs to tell the king he's bollocko .
  24. That was clearly a " joke" but that wasn't the issue . The issue was poor delivery and poor reaction to what Osborne actually proposed. It was as if he had written the speech and was going to deliver it come what may . It's not easy reacting to a budget or spending review , but this was completly hopeless. He then compounded it and pulled out of the normal Daily Politics interview directly after and put up his deputy instead . As Andrew Neil said " Ed balls always found the time" . The faces on the labour benches told the story and even Burnham fell into a bloody great big elephant trap over police budgets . Poor poor excuse for an opposition on today's evidence
  25. McDonnell is delivering the most inept speech I've ever seen in response to the spending review , I almost feel sorry for him.
