  1. Methinks if one follows MLG's logic then the event would predate the cut off, and the points would have come off this season.
  2. Their record is actually even more impressive. Think back to when they were sinking fast out of the PL under Uncle Avi. They took a big advance on the PP's to get them through to the end of the season, so they are actually the only club in history to have received Premier League Parachute Payments in all 4 divisions (provided they survive to get to L2 next season)
  3. Can I suggest, Doctor, that you should rather be calling Matt Smith to congratulate him tonight.
  4. Sorry I just noticed your post. Yep, that's the one.
  5. That's damned lucky that they can now rely on the increased gate money from a sustained promotion challenge from ten points below the absolute bottom of the fourth division to compensate for losing £2m from their guaranteed income next season. Bearing in mind that the TOTAL income for the average League 2 club for the whole season is around £3m, then losing £2m from their "reworked business plan" at a stroke just means a couple more fundraisers at the park.
  6. ...and two promotions
  7. Or they can still fight for the "only just relegated" spot rather than the "well and truly relegated" spot.
  8. Unless the FL change their rules that is guaranteed
  9. Because yesterday while I was stuck on an aeroplane for a few hours I re-read the "progress report" that was presented to the Council when they softened the conditions last time. The one that has a blue progress statement at the end of each clause.
  10. I'm certain it doesn't meet the PCC loan conditions. I'm also certain they will change the conditions to suit for the third time. But they only have 9 working days left. The clock is ticking.
  11. Dunno, but I don't think so. We do Consent Orders when we settle out of court, but I don't think they are in the PD.
  12. The deal is finalised, it is now a Court Order, signed & sealed. It's a Consent Order, normal for out of court settlements.
  13. I think they're urgently bouncing it off the City Council and the Football League first. I would be amazed if it doesn't contain some elements that don't quite fit into the amended loan terms or the conditions attached to the Golden Share. My guess is that they want to publish it along with a statement that it's nothing to worry about because it's approved by PCC & the FL. If the Agreement really is £3m with no debt carried forward, which is what PCC & the FL require, then Chinny would be paying PKF's costs, not the other way round. That's an awful lot to fit into 10 days.
  14. I wonder why "Mrs. Too Far" doesn't get through the BBC's swear filter.
  15. Don't get sucked in to the spin. The Judge didn't decide anything. There is no judgement. The two Parties (PKF & Portpin) reached an "out of Court" settlement, with PKF paying Portpin's costs.
  16. This has got Cortese's fingerprints all over it. B@stard,
  17. That is actually quite odd for the News:
  18. It's a kind of hot dog. Foot long in my case.
  19. To answer the question a football club isn't a democracy. You can't run it by committee. You need a rich clever autocratic dictator. Good ones are as rare as rocking horse sh*t. We got very very lucky.
  20. Best fifty grand we've spent. It was worth it just for the goal against United.
  21. But it is rallyboy. Not Pompey fans, of course, but fans nevertheless.
  22. So it sounds like Chinny is still in there, but they have agreed the terms under which he will go. This Court case hasn't been settled, only stayed.
  23. I think that, on balance, if Balram Chainrai is happy then so am I
  24. I don't think he's got the structure of the board right, unless it's changed since the prospectus. as I remember it, it's: PST - minimum 2 - up to 3 directors HNWs - up to 3 directors PLUS any HNW investing more than £200k As I said, unless they have changed things since the prospectus was published, and decided to keep the changes secret, then the board has been structured so that even if the PST holds a majority of the shares (more than 51%), they can only control the board if the HNWs choose not to take up all of their allocated seats. The PST have resolutely answered questions on this point that the HNWs haven't taken up all of their seats. They don't seem to think that the fact that the new Company isn't actually trading yet is in any way significant.
  25. There is only one reason. £48m of parachute payments.
