I heard our club President call him Nigel Atkinson live on tv on Monday evening.

It's toooooooooo quiet. Something's up.

Pretty damned good show in only his second full month in the job

If we were 4 points clear in 17th I might be a bit concerned, but six out of the eight teams below us in the league will have to preform better than us in the run-in. It's possible, but very very unlikely.

I was a student at the time, and those new fangled cashpoint machines were just starting to appear. I used to take out a fiver to last me for a week. Food, beer, fags, petrol, the works.

The replay is one of my fondest memories. The Dell was hummin' that night.

Adam Lallana interview, Saints in Champions League or not?
hutch replied to Olallana's topic in The Saints
I agree with him. I think quite a few of the current team will. -
If he hadn't he wouldn't be here. He would be at Real Madrid, or Manure. I wouldn't break into a cold sweat if he came on from the bench any more, the way I do with some of our other subs.

The days of "reporters" are long gone. It is the job of the modern journalist to create the news, not to report it.

I used Outlook Express for donkey's years. When I moved up to Win7 I changed over to Mozilla Thunderbird. I have been finding Thunderbird a bit primitive (although I know it's free, and you get what you pay for). I have problems with font sizes, layouts, highlighting, underlining, numbering and that kind of stuff, and the final straw is that I want to set up an auto "out of office" reply and find that you can't do that in Thunderbird. So, any suggestions for a half decent e-mail client that works well with latest windows versions. I don't mind paying for it, but would want to buy it online rather than on a disc. It would need to be able to import my Outlook Express database and contact files, and same with Thunderbird files. I want all my data on my HDD, not up in the clouds. Ta

You think Seoul will still be there by Christmas?

Is trompling a bear thing? Can you show us how to tromple?

L'Equipe bang the drum for a Schneiderlin call-up
hutch replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I had that done to my middle leg a few years ago. Still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. -
Rubbish. You have absolutely no idea whether that is true or not. Rubbish. If we spend a couple of million on a back-up left back to replace Fox we will have improved our squad. All the available facts contradict you, and none support your suggestion. No Or that Cortese is a shrewd Chairman who knows how to look after his prize assets.

We've only lost 5 of our last 21 PL games. If we carry that form into next season, and manage to convert a few of the draws into wins, we won't be far away.

No it doesn't. "If the figure is satisfactory to the Portsmouth Supporters’ Trust" is a euphemism for "if they can afford it." What are the odds on another emergency meeting of the Portsmouth City Council the following week?

The Skates can, but you're right, that's not many fans

I don't think so, not if you read the whole statement. In context, they were saying that PST is the only bid capable of consideration in the timescale. Other conspiratorial interpretations, such as they do exit admin but PST don't take them over, or that they do not exit admin but the PST bid does take them over, don't fit with the intent of the whole statement. I'm not suggesting that the FL are right, just quoting what they have said on the record. FWIW I think the FL will consider other buyers if the PST fail in Court. I don't think they will have a choice. But I think they will stick to their principle that if it isn't done and dusted before the end of the current playing season then they will kick them out of the league. I think Orville's bid could meet that deadline, provided he is "approved" the day they lose in Court. If the PST want to spend a couple of weeks hunting round for another Skate-supporting property developer to add to their kitty then they're dead. I don't think any of that changes my earlier answer about where they will play next year. It won't be in League 1, whoever ends up owning them.

Let me have a go Trousers. The Football League issued the following statement on 7th February: So the answer to SR's question is no, the FL will not necessarily apply the -10 this season to relegate them if by some chance they do otherwise avoid the drop without. There are some options: 1. If they fail to exit administration before the final whistle blows in their last game of the season, they will be non-league next season 2. If they do manage to exit administration before the end of the current playing season, and somehow manage to accumulate enough points to avoid the drop, then 10 points will be deducted and they will (by mathematical certainty) be in League 2 next season with a clean slate 3. If they do manage to exit administration before the end of the current playing season, and fail to accumulate enough points to avoid the drop, then they will be in League 2 next season, and may either start with a clean slate or with -10 points, at the discretion of the FL board. So to summarise, they will definitely not be in League 1 next season under any circumstances, but it's still not clear where they will be. Go get some popcorn and pull up a chair and join us.

I remember with fondness my days in Lustier Wisp.

I think it's more a case of wanting to let every club know what league they will be playing in next season at the start of the close season rather than halfway through it.

Has this thread picked up a dose of Swedish Dave?

IMO what Vettel was saying was "I'm going to use my DRS to get past Weber, but then he'll use his DRS to get back past me on the next lap, so tell him not to coz I'm the bestest" Weber let him go for the sake of the team. It's a lesson Vettel is going to have to learn soon.
