  1. I can remember the old days when we used to go ahead in games before we had a holy goalie.
  2. Skates are away at monkey hangers on Tuesday night
  3. Didn't they manage that at Swindon earlier in the season? Trying to remember how that turned out for them
  4. That image of some old gits sitting round in a Portacabin on Stoneham Lane watching DVDs and drooling spoils my Saturday afternoon somewhat
  5. More likely to be a change of security. The ex-players can't have rights to the parachute payments, because they need them to pay the City Council. I'm sure Taylor fought tooth & nail to get first dibs on PPs for his members written into the PL rules, and he isn't going to give that away for the sake of a few skates. I read on one of their comment sections that even the phew are starting to call the Trust "the chancers with no answers".
  6. More also than ex
  7. ...and those real estate assets happen to be more valuable if you're not playing football on them.
  8. ...and IIRC PCC delegated authority to the Chief Exec. and Council solicitor to finalise the loan agreement details, with the proviso that they would have to go back to the full Council for approval again if any proposed changes "materially increased the Council's risk" or words to that effect.
  9. Not really, it says 'and' not 'or'. Both have to happen for them to be kicked out, at least according to the statement. It seems pretty clear to me that the league are saying they will not consider any other potential owner while the Trust bid is still on the table. Over to you, Trev.
  10. Phew that was close. I almost thought they'd been saved there. I don't know who's writing the script, but man they are good. Half a day of the phew telling the world how relieved they are, because deep down they all knew that the Trust didn't have the wherewithall to continue, and then.....
  11. Great with his feet, but never was much cop with his head, was he?
  12. I'm using an N16. Excellent router, but 2.4MHz radio only. It is solid as a rock, and lots of features. Also plug-in USB HDDs for network storage. I ran it on DD-WRT for a few months after I bought it, but it's on ASUS firmware now. I've got D-Link, Belkin and varous freebie telecom-supplied routers, but the ASUS is miles better.
  13. I think there's a couple of empty spaces in a car park in Leicester
  14. I see Japan have just kicked off against Latvia in Kobe, with Yoshida in the side. That's a long way to travel back for Saturday.
  15. They are laying on a Pompey Special. Non stop between Fareham & Bournemouth.

    Redknapp

I think you lot have more reason to despise him than us.
  17. Or they could use it to bring their fans home from Scuņthorpe. All of them.
  18. Scored in the first minute tonight against Notts County

  20. Spread over 4 seasons, & they went down in May 2010. But nothing is ever quite what it seems down there. They have been doing all sorts of deals since then to bring payments forward to keep their heads above water, so gawd alone knows what is left to come. It was supposed to be £16m + £16m + £8m + £8m, each tranche paid in 2 instalments over the season.
  21. If he is bi-polar, it's an illness not an acquired behavioural defect.
  22. Isn't that the point? Is he a good player who had the odd off game, or is he really crap, but fluked a couple of good performances? If it's the former then it's a coaching and management issue. If it's the latter then we woz robbed.
  23. What a quaint concept. The Government doesn't run the country, Rupert Murdoch does.
  24. That's the really great thing about bringing in a new manager. You get to make the same mistakes all over again. And again.
  25. Relax gemmel, they only find themselves in this position because four years ago they got themselves into dire financial straits, and foolishly thought they could solve their problems by borrowing money from a property developer-cum-short term money lender in order to support them living above their natural level. We all know how badly that turned out. They were bankrupt and almost liquidated. You can be sure they won't make that silly mistake again.
