  1. That's my challenge, although I'm looking at ES File Explorer rather than Hipserv or Dropbox, 'coz that seems to be compatible with the Blackberry tab as well. I've got a Blackberry Playbook and a Galaxy tab to cope with, but no i-pads. The trick seems to be having something called "samba share" set up on the attached HDD. I'm still looking into what that means. I don't think my attached HDD is a true NAS. It's just a 2TB USB HDD (Buffalo) plugged into one of the USB ports on the router, but I can access it from windows devices connected to the network.
  2. ... and what's the minimum notice period you have to give to convene a creditor's meeting?
  3. If the trust takeover is a non-sarter (and it certainly looks that way) then Chinny's their last hope. Chinny's biggest headache as I see it at the moment is the pending judgement in the FCR case from last year. If the FCR is upheld (HMRC lose) then most of the future parachute payments are already gone. I estimate there is at most £4m left to collect, and that is decreasing rapidly while the high wage earners stick around. If that happens I think Chinny will walk, and get what he can out of liquidation. If HMRC win, that would seem to open up some scope to only pay football creditors a "dividend" as unsecured, and might make significantly more of the future parachute payments available. It would also seem to give options to move the high earners on against their will, Scottish style. But there is no doubt that it would lead to future changes in the rules. One immediate consequence would be, I guess, that the football authorities would lose the right to withhold payments to clubs in order to pay them direct to football creditors. They would have to hand over payment in full to the club, and rely on the club's integrity to distribute the money appropriately among it's creditors. I can see why Chinny might find that attractive, but he would still be taking a huge risk with respect to future rule changes.
  4. I have a 2TB HDD attached to the home network router. You can read, write and stream from it using all the windows devices (XP & 7). My next project is to access it with the Galaxy Tab & Playbook. If I get there I'll post up how it works. Then you can just load up & go.
  5. 'Coz it's more than they got last time?
  6. I thought it was like an f-duct thing to make the site go faster down the straight.
  7. If they can sign up half a dozen more charities, they'll solve their cashflow shortage for the player's wages next season.

    f-Connect?
  9. We're SWF. We don't need to watch games, we've got YouTube.
  10. If it was me, and if the router is the DHCP server, I'd be focussing on the router rather than the Netbook. With firewalls off until I got it fixed. Have you tried to associate the Netbook with a different WiFi network?
  11. But Trevor didn't really mean it. He's just winding them up
  12. I have to comment on the quote from the Trust spokesperson quoted by Holepuncture above, particularly the last sentence. Is he really saying that they intend to offer Birch a "nominal" amount as purchase price, which will then go to the unsecured creditors (i.e. everybody else except Chainrai, who is a secured creditor) in a CVA, and then persuade Chainrai that this a better deal for him than liquidation? I'm not sure how that's going to work, but I'll watch with interest.
  13. My guess would be some time after Birch has a bona fide bid on the table so he knows how much he will receive to pay any CVA. At the moment he hasn't got a single penny to offer the unsecured creditors.
  14. Did you try IPCONFIG in a command prompt box on the netbook? Open a command prompt and type "ipconfig -renew"
  15. Wow! 3 threads in 1.
  16. I'm not sure he was the "owner" first time round. If I remember it correctly, he had a charge over the invisible Sheikh's shares, as security for the loan to Falcondrone, and excercised control through "nominees". I don't know whether the shares were ever formally transferred to him, or Portpin, before they went into admin. There's no flies on Chinny. He did become the owner when the "club" was transferred to Newco by Andronikou at the end of the first admin.
  17. I did the walk up Ben Nevis around 30 years ago. Near the top, we heard the roar of jet engines, and looked DOWN to see a couple of RAF fighters screaming up the valley a few hundred feet below us. Very impressive, but I doubt if 'elf 'n safety allow that sort of thing nowadays. Anyway I think they were harriers & we aint got none of them anymore.
  18. You might want to think about a career change for the next few years
  19. Is that a target?
  20. Only in the leagues where you don't spend too much time worrying about qualification for the CL
  21. There won't be any for most games
  22. ... up to the end of the season which begins in the year during which they turn 21. A player could be 22 at the start of the season & 23 at the end, and still be considered as under 21 for qualification purposes.

I'm quite pleased we weren't in League 1 this season. United failed to get auto with 90 points, and were on 92 up until injury time, and still would have been in the play-offs. And there were more than 38,000 at Hillsborough on Saturday.
  24. There's only something like £4m of the parachute payments left unspoken for. And that's currently reducing at around £1m a month on player wages. Hardly a dealmaker, and very soon irrelevant unless they get rid of 15 players that nobody wants right now.
