Ref says you dived = yellow card. Video review panel says you dived = 2 match ban. Impeccable logic there. This is bound to be applied completely inconsistently and cause unnecessary ****-storms.

Cheers Shroppie, I will check them out.

Hello All, Has anyone done this sort of thing recently? I'm thinking of doing something a little different (ie. a holiday which doesn't involve attempting to relax in proximity to a beach) at some point in 2018 and was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of the travel companies that organise charity challenges / "adventure" holidays etc. One thing I have seen which looks quite cool is a cycle ride through Death Valley next November, ending up in Vegas. http://www.globaladventurechallenges.com/international/death-valley-cycle/#cycle Thank you in advance and kind regards benjii

Sounds good to me.

I thought Puel stitched him up a bit last season (although obviously Puel was privy to more information behind the scenes than any of us are). Aside from Romeu I thought he was our best central midfielder when he played and he also scored a couple of really nice goals yet he wasn't given much of a chance in the second half of the season. In a deep two, I'd probably sooner have him than Davis or Hojbjerg, based on what I've seen so far. That said, we still need to be looking to sign a couple of midfielders to improve the first eleven in my opinion.

Yeah, some of those long range goals - Coventry away, Villa away, Blackburn away, Liverpool at home - are incredible. Just look up and place it in the corner with power. None of the modern day "smash it and hope it wobbles" crap.
-
We don't want him using his annual goal up yet.
-
Personnel in midfield is still an issue. Austin and Gabbi centrally is a luxury. We miss Redmond.

Just watching a recording of Sky's "PL 100 Club" featuring MLT. That 93/94 period. **** me. I feel privileged to have been at most of those matches.

Agree completely. Unfortunately when a large segment of your audience are borish simpletons you will sometimes be treated badly.

Liverpool is the only city I've been to (in this country, anyway) where virtually every taxi driver has tried to sell me a trip to a brothel. Strange place.
-
Well they can't have a Virgil but they can have a vigil if they feel that hard done by. As long as it's not with tax-payers' money.
-
As I said, as soon as we complained, "we will look like idiots when we sell him to them anyway". Hope Monk is wrong.
-
We don't need to sign lots if no one leaves but if we don't sign another decent central midfielder who can tackle and win second balls then we will be doing to midfield what we did to strikers last season (ie. leave ourselves exposed to one injury - Romeu this year, Austin last - leaving us dysfunctional).
-
Yeah, I agree with most of that.
-
There are ways to pick holes in the analysis but I don't think anyone can argue that failing to convert field position and possession into goals was our main problem. I wouldn't just blame "strikers" though - most of the midfielders are culpable too.
-
Hahahaha! Good one.

Sounds a bit odd. Staying at Celtic would have been his best bet if that's what he wanted. Anfield is one of the quietest grounds I've been to, apart from the quaint little ritual sing-song at the start. I reckon his agent has ascertained that Liverpool are the only club willing to spend approximately the sort of money we are after and is trying to convince him it's his best bet. Poor little Virgil - too feeble to stand up to being used by his agent.

Brilliant stuff. -
If we're going to play an attacking 4231 at home (which seems to be the plan as far as anyone can tell) then I would favour this: Gabbi-------Boufal-------Redmond/Tadic --------------Austin--------------- Whilst Gabbi might be better centrally than out wide, we need players on the pitch who can take chances. Obviously the supporting three can interchange during the match. Personally, though, I think we should be aiming to get Boufal on the ball in central positions as much as possible. I think Tadic is much better out wide than he is central and building the team around Tadic at number 10 would be a mistake. If we want to play tighter away from home then you probably stick Davis or JWP in on the right or central and leave out Gabbi or Austin (probably start with Gabbi and leave Austin as a sub). The only way you can really play both Gabbi and Austin as a front two is if you go 4-4-2 (including diamond variation) or 3-5-2 but then you probably leave out two of Redmond, Tadic and Boufal.

His holiday looks simply fabulous. Totally ferocious.
