CORTESE - a personal and factual view of why Ms Liebherr was right.
benjii replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I thought Franny took him to court. Let's not let the facts get in the way of a grudge though. Regardless of such tattle, angelman's post is spot on. If NC thinks he can run a business without any regard to the owners then he is quite naive in that respect. -
Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed

Well, that would depend entirely on who bought it surely? -

Lol, Dubai Phil thinks Magic Circle lawyers are paid to read a football forum. -

I wonder if the "five year plan" was always that Cortese would do his best to maximise the value of the club then find a buyer to get Markus his money back (ideally with a healthy return on top). As the mid point of the fifth year passes, perhaps this is all about who the buyer is and the five year plan is simply reaching it's end. I think there's no doubt that NC also has a longer term vision but, whatever passes, the Liebherrs and Cortese have delivered unmitigated success. There may be some turmoil but overall I don't see any great reason for despondency (although we obviously don't want a criminal or a looney taking over). -
He's quite hot, so should fit in well. On top of that, I think he could be an inspired signing. We need another player in the squad who can carry the ball with a bit of finesse and hit an incisive pass. He can do that.

Slide Away. Can't believe it's 20 years old.

Clearly he was good enough to do a good job in the Championship and was available at a very good price for someone with his international credentials, which is why he was signed. The Jap market exposure is, I guess, an added bonus but it was clear that, absent injury, he added something to our forward options at the time (Connolly was hardly reliable, Barnard was having his off-field problems, leaving SRL and Guly, who was preferred in midfield). IMO he's a better all-round player than Billy Sharp, for example. He has been unlucky with injury. I really don't understand the disdain. I guess it's born of some desire to appear clever.

Frankly, the tedium has already got to me but do keep beating off all the same.

This is why social media should be reserved for well educated preppy types. I have stopped using Facebook since hoi-polloi got involved.

More tragically than that, it's just a hobby. What an idiot!

I think Rickie has more bad games than good nowadays, sadly. We need to build for next season and IMO that means running the rule over Osvaldo as the main man for the remainder (well, once he's available) of this one. Rickie could still play a big part as a squad member though. A great option to bring off the bench.

Would be disappointed with less than 15 or 16 to be honest and would hope for a few more.

Maybe you should give your boring, repetitive, "funny" posts a rest, stop encouraging the ubermongs like Glasgow then and stick to the footy and people might find you less of a helmet.

Approximately one third of one percent of the consolidated audience figure and lots of media coverage guaranteed. As someone else said, I bet the producers and Channel 4 are chuffed.
-
Have you ever actually seen him play? Serious question.
-
So you would base our transfer strategy on the moment and not level-headed consideration of our squad as a whole? Wow.
-
If Lallana got injured we would be 100% reliant on Gaston or some kid for our creativity. I think we definitely need to strengthen the " supporting three" if we want to climb much higher in the table. Certainly more of a priority than GK IMO.

Don't agree about 5 or 6. Goal keeper, centre back, attacking player, left sided cover. If we had four quality players there we would be Everton's equal. In fact, if Lukaku and Lambert had swapped sides in our match against them, I think we would have won as Lambert was awful.

This just proves what an out of touch fool you are. You are everything you despise but without the class. That must hurt.

What a bizarre thread. The scheme is supposed to help ordinary people. In my experience, estate agents are extremely normal, at best. It might be hard for a "service company" tax paying, gob****e living in some hellish depressed dirt-cheap ghetto to understand but even a well earning young professional in the south has little hope of raising a deposit on anything other than a complete slum. I am privately educated and earn plenty, thanks, but even I would have had no hope of raising my 15% deposit on my semi any time soon without help from Mater.

Exactly. I thought Burnley would be better to be honest.
-
Other than the shot for the goal, which Lambert would never have had the time to get off in the Prem, Gaston was much better than Rickie today. We need Osvaldo back.

Some ****ing bizarre ratings there.
