Who remembers Jocinta Ela Eyenne?

Seriously, wtf?

Better than Liptak?

By the way, surely your university has a careers advisor who is better qualified to advise you on these sorts of things than us? No?

That's an awful argument. Well, it's not really an argument at all, but anyway... So some people have an emotional attachment which is unusually strong. Probably more incumbent on those who evoke such attachments not to be a tit (Matt) then. The point you raise completely begs the question as to who is in the "wrong". It does quite eloquently illustrate why so much ****e is written on here though.

I would post my CV but it would make Dune feel inadequate and I am not a monster.

He was one before and by his own admission did feck all other than hang around the buffet. Look, MLT is a complete legend for what he did on the pitch but he is increasingly making himself look like a bit of a cockle with his amateurish pronouncements. Quite simply, the scenario is this... A bunch of ex-employees of company A, with a recent history, between them, of: 1) Admitting using company A in furtherance of a betting scam; 2) Being the public face of an embarrassing and impotent attempt to acquire company A; 3) Spouting off to the media criticising the management of company A; 4) Publically announcing that they are in a legal dispute with company A; 5) Pursuing publically personal vendettas against company A's chairman; are narked because company A has told it's current employees not to attend a small-time local event that will give said people a platform to publically ejaculate forth once more. Whether company A was ever asked for its endorsement of said event before the event was publicised is unknown. Company A has its own charitable foundation and is clearly willing to support initiatives that it considers worthwhile (http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/charity/8839214.Saint_kicks_off____copter_SOS/ http://www.saintsfoundation.co.uk/) FFS - if you were the management of company A would you want to endorse this? Of course not. If anyone needs to make an effort to get onside it is MLT, not Cortese.

Don't do that. "Personal statement" - wtf? By the way, I am not in recruitment so this is just my opinion. Oh, and maybe stick a photo of your dong on the back? If it is triumphant then they are bound to be impressed? Is it? If not, don't.

Britain moves a step closer to a corporate dictatorship
benjii replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Lounge
By the way, I copied that from the comments under the article but I would suggest if it is news to you, dear reader, then you are probably not qualified to hold a strong opinion on this matter and even less qualified to make portentous, outlandish, simplistic and shrill claims such as "Britain moves a step closer to a corporate dictatorship". -
Britain moves a step closer to a corporate dictatorship

As an aside, this proposal was of course stated in the budget back in June last year, with detailed proposals (including draft legislation) being published in November. Seems that it takes some time for news to filter down to Guardian hack-central.. Regarding the merits of the specific proposal, this is an eminently sensible move with the clear goals, inter alia, of: (i) bringing the treatment of branches in line with that of foreign subsidiaries, reducing the arbitrary corporate structure incentives inherent in CTA 2009, s.5; (ii) moving the UK ever closer to a pure territorial corporate tax system (in line with the prevailing global trend), with the obvious objective of increasing the competitiveness of the foreign operations of domestic companies; and (iii) of course limiting the risk of redomiciliation of UK resident companies to more commercially attractive climes. All this is a good thing for the UK economy, and hence a good thing for the tax-consuming majority who live off people like me (the minority of productive tax-producers). However, I've learnt to expect that populist hacks and the economically clueless majority who inhabit CIF rarely seem to understand what is actually in their own long run interests... -
CVs needn't be complicated. Just make sure it looks clean and professional. If it looks cluttered the reader is likely to be put off. Use Verdana or Arial. Use bold to highlight different sections etc. Don't fanny around with underlining and italics. Set out your contact details to begin with; then your educational results; then your job history, citing relevant experience; then finally any personal interests/other achievements etc. About 3 pages or so should be fine for a junior professional CV. There's no magic; just keep it simple. By the way, I don't work in recruitment or anything so that's just my view.

We won't need 90 points for second. 85 should be plenty.

Evidently not, given that West Ham tried to buy him. He catches plenty of crosses. Personally I would rather have him in goal than some clown who goes flying after everything. He saved a one-on-one yesterday; he saved a one-on-one on Tuesday night. I was surprised he didn't save one of their penalties yesterday - that's how good he has been for us for the last couple of years. Had Seaborne and Harding done their jobs properly yesterday those two chances wouldn't have happened. By all means, it is a valid opinion that maybe the first shot might have been saved but David doesn't deserve the same level of criticism as those two. EDIT: and neither does Davis!
-
It was a cock-up. He moved forwards when the ball was played. He obviously misjudged the flight. It was a mistake. He must be dropped, along with everyone else. On a different note, I've just seen that amusingly Ferguson thinks our first penalty should not have been given.
-
Davis' inability to command the oposing team's half is doing my head in. Nevermind whether Seaborne cocked-up causing a one-on-one from about ten yards and gave away a silly penalty, Davis should've been in the oppo's half closing down the forward ball in the first place. Unbelievable.
