  1. I agree. That is a very astute observation. Likewise, how much we will benefit if we take one of their players out? As usual your view is completely skewed and lacking any sensible justification.
  2. Although, let's face it, relegation was entirely Rupert Lowe's fault.
  3. I think it's a given that if Saints started testing football boots on animals a lot of people would find it somewhat off. In the context of the minor, insignificant, trivial, irrelevant, insular, Usual Suspects, need-for-constant-self-affirmation, old boy's network, piffling incidents that get themselves airtime on here then success on the pitch is Messi to their Lee Todd.
  4. I would rather be in our position that Bournemouth's, Charlton's or Huddersfield's. It's in our hands.
  5. That's interesting. I think a draw against Cherries and Brighton and 4 points against Charlton should be plenty provided we average two points across our other matches.
  6. It's an interesting point though. Oakley is a far far better player than Franny and was with Saints for ages. He seemed like quite a middle class sort of lad which maybe didn't sit easily with the blinkered world view of a lot of "safamptin till oi die" punters.
  7. Maybe something to do with dinlo Redknapp sticking him on the left wing. Mental decision.
  8. No problem! How about "largely emplyed in a defensive role but with the ability to put away chances that fell to him. He will be remembered by many for his goal in the 4-3 victory over fellow relegation battlers, Norwich, towards the end of the [2006/2007?] season in one of the most dramatic and atmospheric games in the St Mary's era."
  9. If Morgan turns out to be 75% of the player Oakley was I'll be pleased.
  10. He scored plenty of goals when he got in forward positions but usually he was asked to play quite deep. His finishing was pretty good. An example that springs to mind was Norwich at home in that crazy match. Would Morgan, Hammond, Idiakez, Safri, Delap, Prutton, Svensson etc.. have finished that? Doubt it.
  11. Did you ever see him play?
  12. Complete irrelevance. MK Dons have played four more games than us.
  13. Complete irrelevance. If Peterborough finish above us then there's no way we will catch Bournemouth and Brighton.
  14. Ahh, equaliser - excellent!
  15. Peterborough match is irrelevant. Charlton score is great. Bournemouth score would be best as a draw but, as others have said, as long as we don't lose to them we can still overtake them. Brighton might even start feeling the pressure now they're level so catching them isn't out of the question as we have to play them too.
  16. I remember a few gripes in his direction but I don't think there was ever a ground-swell of opinion against him? If I was him I would be a bit narked by the use of the phrase "boo-boys" I think! That should be saved for gash of the likes of Lee Todd.
  17. I see Lawrence has been replaced by Mokoena after 40 minutes. I am assuming he is injured. That is a great shame as he is arguably their best player. I do hope he doesn't miss the remainder of the season.
  18. Indeed. I doubt it will emphasise the competitive advantage these shenanigans gave them or their shameful behaviour in the January transfer window which turned last season's FA Cup into a complete farce.
  19. Yes, I would say so. I think I was thrown by the OP: In his Echo article today he refers to things said on forums by people who hide behind their anonymity. He also talks about the fall out with NC last summer and explains how he has no wish to destabilise. He also said that the club contacted BBC last Monday to ensure they reported that last weekends celebrations and his award was nothing to do with the club. There is a lot in the article and while it is one man's opinions it is worth a read because he pulls few punches.

    How about...

FFS - we haven't turned up at all today.
  21. Yeah, it's just so ****ing intriguing. Call Interpol so we can get to the bottom of this oh-so-important matter.
  22. Of course he was good. FFS he was clearly a Premier League quality player. How anyone can spend years of their life watching football and not be aware of that obvious truth is pretty painful.
  23. Where have I said he isn't allowed an opinion? He is welcome to air his opinion. I am merely stating that a lot of people are fed up of hearing it.
  24. No, but there are countless things he could write about other than himself and NC. Also, not reading The Echo, I did not know if this is a regular column or not. My reading of the OP was that it was some sort of interview/stand alone article. Either way, most people seem bored with this.
