That was a bullet.

I clapped the Barnsley player who tucked away two excellent free-kicks against us. I think I remember the Huckerby goal someone mentioned above, and the Kinkladze one. We must've conceded loads of good goals down the years but it's actually quite hard to pinpoint them. You tend to remember the most emotional ones rather than the quality.

You realise this makes you sound weird?

Gaddafi Jnr currently painting a portentous picture of Dystopia on state tv. Lack of investment, western intervention to protect oil, internal borders (citing N and S Korea), families torn apart, more martyrs etc...
-
It always made me chuckle when the Skates were in the Prem and we were featured on FM whilst their paltry audience had to crackle their way through an AM broadcast.
-
Just listening to Gaddafi Jnr on the radio. Sounds pretty scared. Now then, need to get out of the country and tie up some wealth overseas... reckon he's still interested? No doubt he would be welcomed.

That miss against West Brom still does my head in! Grr.
-
He had a good game but then Prutton had a really good game in the Prem once against Liverpool's first team when they were good (which was a much stronger team than Man U had out - that starting 11 would be in a relegation battle). It doesn't mean Prutton is a better choice than any of our current three.

It's wrong to say we didn't retain the ball against Carlisle. Just nonsense. Hammond played as the playmaker and was excellent. If we're playing a 4 across the middle then Hammond and Chaplow are by far the best pairing. If it's a diamond or a three then Schneiderlin can have more of a defined role and that is when he plays best. When he is one of two he is far less effective.

Eddie Mitchell Stirs The Pot Before Cherries Game
benjii replied to farawaysaint's topic in The Saints
You might argue that but you would be mental to do so given that the express reason for him ever coming to the club was to deliver us the infrastructure to allow us to compete at the highest level. We got relegated because of appaling managerial appointments and a failure to address a key weakness in the squad which was probably in part a result of such appointments and in part a result of an overly cautious approach to player recruitment. -
If it wasn't for one half of the alleged feud constantly banging on about it then no one would even know or notice. It has no actual effect on anything that 99.9% of us care about.

"Why did you choose her?" "She's the one, out of those with their lights still on, that I most want to bone. Obviously."

At least we won't be facing any claims for refunds/replacements on the weapons used.
-
I think that is a very sensible view to take.

That first paragraph is very harsh. The signing you are talking about was: Prutton, Svensson, Delap etc.. and they all turned out to be pretty carp. Oakley would always be selected ahead of them by a competent manager.

Didn't MLT score a couple of beauties in the Sociedad game? Am I thinking of the right match?

I have been advised not to comment on this aspect of the evening. However, the leaves in Montenegro fall slowly at this time of year....

That is why the video link is in NYC - hopefully the **** can't make it. (Good point).

Anyone else starting to worry about fixture pile-up ?

Don't even get me started on you. You big smelly fanny. -
Oh, I haven't spoken to the management of Saints Web yet.

It was indeed a typo - a rather weird one! I have added some further thoughts to the post for those that care (a small subset of people, I suspect).

Nothing is everything (expect maybe the universe but that, arguably, is a moot point). EDIT: Some further thoughts: If the universe is "everything" then it seems to me that the predicate of "being everything" is likely to be something contained within the concept of "universe" itself. However, Kant has taught us that existence is clearly not a predicate and thus I'm left in something of an ontological tizzy as "being everything" seems to me to be somewhat approximate to the ultimate essence of existence. History has taught us that syllogisms attempting to build an argument on tautologous or pseudo-tautologous grounds are quiant and inticing yet logically suspect. Thus, I am not even sure that the proposition that the universe is everything will stand up to scrutiny.

I am giving the lifetime achievement award for Saints Web Forum posting to Rallyboy for his efforts herein: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga&p=971131#post971131 This award recognises his contribution to one of the shining lights in our collective forum history and it gives me great pleasure to honour him accordingly. I would like to hold a night of celebration of this forum and the award in recognition of the passing of the number of years (expressed as a fraction if necessary) since this forum started. I am thinking that Deppo should compere and host, as he is well funny isn't it, but if he doesn't want to then I will do it myself. £20 a pop, all proceeds to be collected. Forum greats from over the years will be invited: Nineteen Canteen, Scooby (by video link from NYC), Tommac, that spammer who posted loads of rude words one night, Tartan Owl, the Angry Golfer, Mike Wilde etc. Who's in?
