  1. David "ambition is to beat a defender" Lee.
  2. Yes, that is true. On that basis I think posts should be rationed according to games attended. That may have some unintended but pleasant consequences...
  3. I would hope that the FL would look at it on the basis that there are two types of player to be released. There are the "stars" who need to be released to prevent the club from running out of money (er, again). Utaka, Ben Haim etc... if these are released out of necessity and it means Pompey don't have a squad of twenty then I think they should be allowed, under certain restrictions, to replace those players. However, releasing the reserve keeper and a couple of 18 year-olds just because the manager doesn't rate them should be viewed differently. They should not be allowed to replace those until they can demonstrate they are on a sound financial footing or that the replacements are on less £££.
  4. I'm glad everyone on here is able to speak on behalf of our players. No longer will I listen to interviews to get a fell for how confident we are, I'll just log on here.
  5. Played two, lost two certainly but against teams who are likely to me signifcantly better than 90% of League One. Let's pick the results up from here on in.
  6. I'm not sure if they'd be up to it but I do know that Johnson, Terry, Upson and King aren't.
  7. Sven was clueless when it came to tournament play. We would've beaten Portugal in 2006 if he'd had a bit more bottle.
  8. No it wasn't. That's what I really don't understand and why Capello made a hash of it (although the players made as much if not more of a hash of it). When we were at our best we played with one striker and two wide men playing off him. For some reason Capello regressed to a completely unimaginative, preditcable and simplistic 4-4-2 for the World Cup.
  9. If you instigate court proceedings that are totally without merit you will get punished heavily with costs orders against you. The only way PFC could sue HMRC for damages would be if HMRC's actions were in bad faith. For example, if there was material evidence which HMRC knew and which meant it had no case or if it mislead the court etc... That will not happen and even if you could establish the grounds for a counterclaim in this instance the damages would still have to pass the legal tests for damages (remoteness, causation etc...). Talk of compensation can be added to the list of "pieces of BS" that have come from down that way. As to the football creditors rule and HMRC winning - dunno. But they are also appealing with regards to the way the CVA voting was conducted and I would suggest they are pretty confident on that front. Handy Admin Andy also has "previous" here, lest we forget.

  11. I think Butterfield will do a good job too danny but we shall see! :vuvu:
  12. I've never heard of the vast majority of their players, let alone have any idea whether they're any good or not, and I suspect they have a similar level of knowledge of our players so I couldn't really give a monkey's what any Sheffield Wednesday fans think.
  13. Project financing is an innovative technique that has been used on many high-profile projects, including Euro Disneyland and the Eurotunnel under the English Canal. as expert as ever.
  14. Indeed. And it is standard in all forms of litigation to use the time periods available to you. Unless there is some particular reason for urgency it makes sense to use the time given to prepare your case. HMRC will have other cases they are pursuing, so will their lawyers. Naturally you prioritise work in accordance with the court deadlines and in a large organisation with a big caseload this means you file papers towards the end of the period you are allowed. And further - if it is "brinksmanship", so what? This is litigation. It is adversarial. You take steps calculated to give you the best chance of success and your opponent the least chance. You also delay action if there is a prospect of negotiation succeeding in the interim or if it strengthens your tactical position. Just pointless bleating from AA. But don't worry, they will win easily in no time and then all their amazing loan players will join.
  15. EXACTLY. If you sell to someone on deferred payment terms you are taking a risk against their creditworthiness; it's up to you to assess that risk and decide if the risk outweighs the potential reward or not. Clubs are currently excused from conducting this basic part of business by the football creditor rule.
  16. This is spot on. Talk of recovering damages because a prospective purchaser walks away from the table is utterly ludicrous.
  17. *Awaits Stu Benson Phillips replying saying that actually that is exactly what his post says but you are a bit stupid, asking for an internet link to disprove him and suggesting a visit to the pub. Or something.*
  18. Exactly. There is no problem at all with the first 11. We have little competition in centre midfield. I'm sure we will address that but it really isn't urgent at all. We have little cover for Lambert. I'm sure we will address that but it really isn't urgent at all. We don't have a decent second goalie (FFS). I'm sure we will address that but it really isn't urgent at all.
  19. What I want to know is what was really Chanrai's motivation for getting involved in the first place? Those lot really have provided a beautiful year - I would like to thank PFC for being a complete pit.
  20. Outstanding baptisms. Filth. Many a Saturday morning ****.
  21. I'm not sure you could call them "shorts" - more like "trunks".
  22. video on Saintsplayer - I'm not mental
  23. Quality!
  24. Just watched the highlights and some of Thun's play was better than any League One team is likely to serve up. Major positive appears to be David Connolly for us. Put a cracking finish in but got disallowed unfortunately.
