  1. Shirely sounds game. Joke derivation: circa 1970s Leslie Neilsen films.
  2. So, you saw two people who look like this: in the same car?
  3. Our players are a thoroughly dislikable bunch of thick, McIdiots. The only one I like is James, and he's a skate FFS. He's also gash, which is a shame. Actually, I like Crouch too. And Theo is clearly a nice lad with decent parents. Most of them are scum though.
  4. You can't fiddle with his musical legacy.
  5. So don't go to the cup matches. Having said that, it would be just £3.50 each, assuming you come in your usual trio. Many of the cup matches will be at cheaper prices anyway. If you can afford to share the petrol from Andover, presumably an extra £3 won't break the bank? If you have severe problems walking don't you qualify for a disabled badge? I have the utmost sympathy for you with respect to physical difficulties and I realise money is tight (I am not doing something I had planned to do this weekend because I need to save money) but it sounds a bit like you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
  6. Bit odd if the driver looked like him. He's a funny looking chap. You sure it wasn't a couple of fans on the way to a tribute or something?
  7. Such a relief. I would like to thank him, not just on my behalf, but on behalf of all the kids in Soton who could've grown up with a team to be embarrassed about and now have something to look forward to.
  8. They should do pretty well but they were a long way behind us by the end of last season in terms of optimum performance level. I would expect Lambert to get more.
  9. Who does he play for?
  10. I cannot comment on the relative merits of those Sheffield Wednesday players as I cannot recall having ever heard of them before. I do expect we will finish above them this season though. Probably because I'm a Saints fan, but also for all the reasons that the bookies think we will finish above them too.
  11. I went around gobbing off to everyone before the tournament started about how England would be knocked out in the second round (I am football intelligentsia, you see) but never got around to putting any money on it. Never mind.
  12. I will come back to this thread this evening and I hope to find a picture then. Thank you and kind regards Benjii
  13. Why wrong? You must agree he's a petulant so and so? Presumably therefore you think he has more good games than bad? I'd say it's around 50/50. Anyway, probably not a discussion for this thread.
  14. Exactly, reading some of the comments on here you would think Southampton was gridlocked every home match. It isn't.
  15. So for an extra £23.33 each you're going to give up going completely? Because you can't be bothered to park ten minutes further away from the ground? If so, that just proves how a business will always have some weird customers and that no decision can suit everyone.
  16. Probably because he has as many bad games as good games and is a petulant so and so.
  17. Neil Mellor :vuvu:
  18. They are different to Leeds... Leeds had some things going for them.
  19. A booking fee. It is standard practice across a wide-range of industries. It is hardly sneaky or disreputable. Ticketmaster charges £4.50 per ticket FFS (I think). As to your main point, when you can stop the infantile rhetoric for a second, it is something I have pointed out before. It's a funny situation because you want the team to be succesful but that success necessarily comes with a price unless you are a team like Fulham in the shadow of others and have no choice but to be competitive on price. Saints are in the enviable/bad (depending on your viewpoint) position of being able to charge a fairly premium price when we're back in the Prem as there is no viable alternative for Premier League football for miles around. That's not sneaky or bad - it's just a fact.
  20. As the squad stands, I'm pretty sure it will be this: -----------------KD---------------- Frazer------Jaidi---Fonte------Dickson Puncheon--Hammond--MS----Lalalalalalalalana ----------Lambert------Barnard/Connolly Obviously we might sign another midfielder who plays instead of the second striker or replaces an existing player. I can't see that we signed Dickson to play on the left wing. If we'd wanted to sign a left winger we would have signed a left winger, not a full-back.

    Stripper

I've seen a stripped on a London stag get gash out, stick it in people's faces and beg people to take pictures. So I guess it's horses for courses.
  22. "gutter business ethics" You've been reading too many tabloids Dune.

  24. Do you really think we're not now though? It is a small minority of Saints fans who are genuinely upset at the minor things which have happened recently. I bet most do not care about: parking, the pre-season tour, a booking fee, the Ted Bates trophy, the name of a room. Did people stop going because of Lowe's "train-gate" - no, IMO. If people stopped going it was because the team was dross. ST numbers will be the proof in the pudding as to how unhappy the ST-holding fan-base is. I appreciate the whole installment plan thing is very annoying for some but come the season I bet most have found a way round it and assuming we do establish ourselves at the top of the league no one will give a hoot about a few PR ****-ups/communication issues.

    ticket prices

If you want to queue for half an hour and risk missing the start of a match to save £1 then there's no helping you. I imagine most people who book match tickets in advance over the net/phone buy more than one per match. They like to sit with a mate, or two. Let's say just one mate. So that's a fee of £1.50 per ticket. Cheaper than on the day already. Let's say they agree, with that mate, to go to two games which are on sale. So that's a fee of 75p per ticket. It's even more of a saving, as they would have paid £8, rather than £3, had they bought all tickets on the day. I really think this is a non-issue, no? Can't wait for the footy to start so people can moan endlessly about that instead.
