"Death to the IDF" is different from "Death to every member of the IDF", and the former is clearly a comment on the institution and not on every individual within it (and certainly not on "Jews", everyone's favourite conflation). In the same way that I would like the Russian army to get smashed in Ukraine, I do not wish death on every poor sod who gets caught up in it, nor on every Russian Orthodox Christian. That said, chanting it in the context it was chanted, without nuance or subtlety, was obviously likely to inflame and cause anger. Anyway, that's enough about this.
