Yeah, I'm pretty sure the day of the funeral would be a public holiday and quite possibly the day of coronation of Charles would be too.
-
Indeed. Not sure why people are so desperate to part with their money as soon as possible. As long as some sort of loyalty discount, analogous to the previous advance offers, is offered to existing ST holders then I really don't see what the problem is.
-
Yes, good point. I got excited.
-
- Cortese: "Mr Liebherr's not here today. He's upset." [because he can't get here] - Solent: "Markus Liebherr isn't coming because he's upset".
-
:smt041 exactly.
-
This is correct IMO.

Careful there ol'bean... don't want to come across like a bitter red.

I'm trying to lose weight.

I dislike what the NF stands for - or rather what I think it stands for; can't say I've ever bothered looking into it as it is so insignificant nowadays - or rather I think it is.
-
I just made it up. It means "someone who fears wisdom". The opposite of philosophy, which means, literally "love of wisdom/knowledge". You have my permission to use it (although I can't rule out making yourself look a prat if you do).

Well, the proof will be in Nanny's sponge pudding.

If he had been a Tory you'd probably blame him for it!
-
I am something of a libertarian IMO. In some cases this leads me towards the Tories, in some the LibDems, but rarely towards the control-freak, short-sighted, philo-phobic Labour.
-
I'm asking why it's an issue. Not surprising some jealous/ignorant types want to bleat on about it. Quite frankly, if you don't think the best governors come from amongst the best educated then you are barking mad IMO. I would recommend this - - as a starting point. A bit idealistic, I admit, but should hopefully point you in roughly the right direction.

There it is again.

Sorry, you're right. Your obsession is Dune for some funny reason.

A compromise in a coalition... **** me with a wet kipper, fancy that! Or they've acknowledged they really are not the most important policies and not worth the air-time the class obsessed, bitter Labourites wanted to give them.
-
Why are all Labour supporters so obssessed with class? It's ****ing pathetic and block-headed.

Good luck Slick Dave, give this country the walloping it needs. Good luck Nice Nick, keep the weird ones in check. Brilliant outcome.

Spot on!

I agree with your sentiments completely. If Pardew were to be sacked I would think he had been hard done by and I would wish him all the best (unless he went to Pompey!). I know, however, that in the long-term Liebherr and Cortese are far more important than Pardew is to Saints. People are justfiably scared of changing managers because we have a recent history (with the notable exception of Crouch's superb appointment of Pearson, and Pards himself) of appointing awful candidates. I am confident any replacement would be a good replacement. By the way, I also don't think Pards will be sacked (although I wouldn't rule out some sort of mutually agreed departure to West Ham).

The difference is that Bale is about 100 times better than Surman. Surman is never going to be anything other than a bit part player at a Prem club. I personally think it was a good move for him though. He will get financially secure and in a year or two can join a decent Championship side and enjoy playing some football again. He was never going to have a career that took him to the world cup, included major domestic honours etc... financial loadedness is a great result.

A few points: 1) the pitch invasion used to be a regular end of season thing and is just a bit of a laugh really (although personally I stopped finding it fun when I was about 14) 2) most of the people who ran on did look like utter, utter plonkers 3) some of the arrests made by stewards were very funny indeed 4) the repetition of that announcement three times was absolutely retarded - whoever was in charge of that is a plank 5) i don't think anyone was "celebrating finishing 7th" or anything of the sort, just end of season hijinks 6) we'll walk the league next season.

Bit melodramatic. Just a bit.
