  1. I agree he has a lot of potential but he lets himself down with basic stuff IMO like, as you point out, his ability to "do a job" for the team. I'm sure he will come good but I think he should be used as a bench player for the moment. Right winger on the right. Left winger on the left. Two strikers. Solid centre mid. Easy!
  2. If Smith starts the next match on the right wing (or at all really), I will cry a bit.
  3. Interesting that hardly anyone (including me!) wants Lallana in their first 11.
  4. ---------------KD----------------- James---Perry----Saiejs-----Skacel Gillet---Shchneiderlin---Euell---Surman --------Saga------McG---------- I would also have given Thomson a proper run on the right wing as I thought he showed promise but haven't really seen enough of him to put him in my first XI at the mo. If Gillet and James isn't working, BWP or McClaggon are also options on the right as well as Thomson.
  5. But if they think that a threadbare club in League One would achieve that, should we accept it? From their actions you have to conclude either that they couldn't care less if we're relegated again or that they are utterly incompetent. Why didn't they work with Crouch instead of ousting him in such a shambolic way? If they truly cared about the club they would have done that. IMO the only conclusions are that Lowe is motivated by revenge and a desire to keep the club solvent at all costs in the hope that by some fluke it might be worth some money again one day. Wilde took a punt which backfired badly, he is terrified of his shares going down the pan and Lowe has got to him.

Damn right we're not. We're the Man United of the south.
  7. Ahh, that old bounder Chester Perry.

    Van der Waal?
  9. We do have some crap fans. Along with every other club in the world.
  10. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11274 Oh, the delicious, slime soaked irony. No particular dig at Wotte who obviously can't be blamed for any of the recent arse we've had to suffer and also seems to have stated quite clearly what most of JP's faults were (along with a few more implications regarding what the players might have thought). It does strike me as somewhat odd though that given the last time this club was truly united, Lowe and Wilde decided to point the blunderbus straight at it.
  11. TBH I expect it costs less in salary but that's not really the point is it? It's fecking sheee-ite. That's the point.
  12. All I mean is that Monday's press conference has been called to discuss the JP/Wotte situation. It hasn't been called as a response to the very valid questions being posed on here. I'm no journo but I think there is a certain amount of playing by the rules of the game on these things. I suppose the questions could be phrased to keep them within the set parameters, ie: "What role did Kim van der Waal play in the resignation of JP and the appointment of Wotte?"
  13. Does this person have a mobile status symbol, the location of which I may track on the internetz?
  14. To be honest, I'm sure these are all questions that have occured to the Echo. They may consider it to be imprudent to ask some of them however.
  15. Apparently he knows George Weah.
  16. I can confirm that Skacel will be signing next week.
  17. Rupert, is it acceptable to wear hunting socks that clash with one's cravat?
  18. The media do still care about us. Pretty pointless dig though - implies JP not given a fair crack when most people think he was well past his sell by date.
  19. When the plc chairman is part-time, the football club chairman is a tax exile, the other plc execs are the non-exec Cowan and the dubious Jones - "Mr Continuity" - I suppose this makes sense If there wasn't something odd going on then why is it such a big secret? PS - I understand the need for sensitivity but can you confirm if your source is a "neutral" (ie. playing staff, other club staff) or a "interested party" (ie. McMenemy, Crouch, Merrington etc)?
  20. Professor of idiocy?
  21. Are you seriously trying to say there were better loanees available than Pekhart, Robertson and Gasmi and that we could have used our money better than by signing Pulis, Smith and Forecast? Do you all live in Cloud Cuckoo land or something?
  22. Fine. But the point the Hoddleites forget is that there were plenty of other good managers around who could have been appointed other than Sturrock. It wasn't a case of, "if we can't have Hoddle it has to be Sturrock". The ommission of Hoddle is irrelevant. It is no more significant in our decline than the ommission of Jose Morinho, Barry Fry or Brian Clough. The board got the decision wrong and then followed it up by an even worse one (Wigley).
  23. According to Wiki they were thinking of linking up with Wolves in some sort of feeder capacity. Maybe that fell through and we're proposing something along those lines? All a bit odd. A far cry from the days of sell-out mid-season friendlies against Bayern Munchen anyway!
