  1. No, but I started to come down with this on Friday afternoon. Saturday was awful (bad ear aches, really sore throat). Yesterday was better. Today the ear is nearly back to normal but the sore throat continues and I have symptoms more akin to a bad cold.

I agree. I was trying to prompt some debate. I should have been a bit more subtle; I was borderline trolling! My council tax does **** me off though. £182 per month and they can't even collect my rubbish weekly.

    Fair point!
  4. But the nationals don't have a clue about Pompey do they? They are just nasty, awful people who wish to rake mud when really all is great.

If I use private health and private education why on earth should I pay tax to prop up the NHS or the school system?
  6. I feel like ****.
  7. Three for one on this beuaty: Waiiiiiggoooooo, Waiiiiii-aaayy-iiiigoooo Papa come and he score some goal. Hey Mr Lallana, Adam La-Lallana Lallana come and he score some goal. Not one, not two, not three, not four Ricky come and he score some more.
  8. I think it's pretty good value as a current Soton exile. I would happily pay £1 per match to listen to live commentary. Given that it costs about £4 a month and that we will usualy have more than 4 matches in a month I think it's excellent. If I lived in the Solent catchment area I wouldn't bother as you can see the goals on the Beeb and the extra footage is nice but not really worth paying for.
  9. Exactly it is manifestly clear that either: a) these stories are all wrong and all is rosey in the Pompey garden; or b) the stories are in some part true even if the details might not be quite right and there certainly has not been a big cash injection (and probably won't be soon). The more I think about it, the more I think they've been Fialkad.
  10. It will be interesting to see what happens in January if we have maneouvered ourselves into a position where the objective onlooker would consider us serious promotion candidates (whether through the play-offs or otherwise). If so one would think we would be able to attract some really good additions to supplement the squad, possibly even from our League One rivals. If we can sign the likes of Jaidi, Lambert and Connoly when bottom of the league, who's to say we won't snap up Beckford/Jackson etc. when we look like promotion candidates?
  11. Sign of a good squad! (I agree, 'tis odd. We would be distinctly underwhelmed if we were Donny fans. On reflection, it's a bit like Smith last year - wasn't he on loan from Milwall?)
  12. Give me a mega-rich European industrial dynasty any-day of the week!
  13. Link not working..... something fishy going on??!
  14. But those posts would be entirely reasonable. With the resources available, a failure to imporve by Christmas would represent an utterly lamentable performance. That's not a rabid knee-jerk AP out campaign at all. In any case, we're doing fine and I think 99% of people are very happy with AP, so let's all just enjoy that!
  15. I have absolutely no idea who any of the other players in League One are.
  16. I'm sure they are being penalised financially in interest, charges etc. Another reason, apart from the shameful morality of it, that any decent business would pay their bill if they could. The fact that PFC are negotiating is not indicative of solid and savvy business acument, it's indicative of an inability to pay.
  17. He was cheap, available and there was a player going in the opposite direction. I'm not saying FF "made it up", I just find it implausible and therefore suspect he maybe wrong for some reason. He didn't dive, he just fell over, if you like. That season we signed numerous ****e players with little first team English league experience. Therefore I don't think we need a conspiracy to explain the signing of Pulis.
  18. We had inept owners but there was no sense of mystery as to where our money was coming from (not that there was any!). We were a PLC registered in England and Wales. All above board. Rubbish, yes. Dodgy, no.
  19. Good one. I like it. Even the Northam mongs should be able to remember that one!
  20. Southend's defending of the corner was appaling anyway so screw 'em! We were 2 against 1 following the short corner, the first header was unchallenged and the defenders didn't react at all. Fair play to Trottman (who won me £66 with that goal! )
  21. I wish we still had Jimmy Belmadi. He would take the **** out of players in this league and would work well in our current system.
  22. Lol - sure it's "just business". It's a well recognised practice not to pay your tax bills but to try to stagger overdue payments over time. That's what good businesses do. They don't pay their taxes on time.
  23. I hope Redknapp's Spurs stuff them next weekend. They lurch from one unsavoury regime to the next and, frankly, epitomise everything to be disliked in modern football. May they rot.

    Are you Bob Crow?
  25. Sadly not, I have ear/gland ache so decided not to have a beer tonight.
