I like him. He's entertaining. Also, I would be pretty happy if, having got relegated, we managed to recruit Glenn Hoddle. Better than what we've got now!
-
No, I know. Sorry. I realise that looked like I was talking about you, and that wasn't the intention.

I've never quite understood this line of thinking. They've won the world cup a grand total of zero times. Th entire argument seems to be based around Ajax having once won the European Cup with a young team. IMO the best way of nurturing young players is to force them to live in favelas and play football with rotting rat corpses.
-
Because no one from Southampton FC was there were they? What are they supposed to say? "Hope the scumbag gets what he deserves"" Only a borish, block-headed dullard with an incapability of comprehending even the most basic complexities of the world around him would say that.... Oh....

TBF we're at the brink of administration but we signed someone for a potential £1.2m, so if all is in fact rosey in the Pompey garden (urgh!), then £4.5m is hardly anything. Bearing in mind he's probably not on massive wonga and it will be something like £1m up front, then it's really no biggy. Anyway, you can rant all you want on a Saints forum, the fact is you've hit your peak and it will be funny watching you [slowly?] go downhill from here on in.

There's no precedent because Joey Barton happens to be a footballer. It was also about the third time he'd been convicted of a similar offence if I recall correctly. Whether Gerrard gets sent down or not will depend on him being found guilty, for a start, and then on the extent of the other chap's injuries and whether there is any mitigation. To get bird for a first violent offence the injuries would have to be sufficient to constitute grievous bodily harm or there would have to be an aggravating factor such as use of a weapon. In short, unless you know the facts of what happened.... who knows?

FFS - start a new thread about that then instead of distorting this one. That article has NOTHING whatsoever to do with a car crash. You provoke a reaction on here from many posters. Sometimes I think the stick you take on here is unwarranted but when a thread about the death of a man and the potential ruin of another young man's life because of a fateful moment of lost-concetration is turned into a pop at Lowe because some junior dimwit has written a badly worded piece on the OS, it is time to take stock.
-
What does that have to do with the car crash? And why do you think it has Lowe's evil hand over it? Jesus.
-
It's the link about loan deals. I'm still not sure what it has got to do with Robertson's car crash or why you think Lowe would bother wasting his time with a loan deal round-up article.
-
Ohh, Ponty won't like that.
-
Well, not really. They invested in the team with heavy debt, then they won the cup. They can't afford to do this so they must sell. They gambled on being able to get a decent crowd and a new stadium through flogging the club on to some other source of funds. They have no infrastructure to fall back on. Completely different scenario.
-
Probably prompted by the realisation that Pompey will ALWAYS be a badly supported, nasty little club, in the arsehole of Britain.
-
What does this have to do with a car crash?

No - any reasonably sized city with a decent university will be an absolute blast. Cardiff Bristol Soton Manchester Leeds Nottingham Sheffield Birmingham London Any of those (and more) will be great!
-
I heard that. He was hardly a celebrity - just some small time comedian! Said he went back to London in the day then back to Soton for a gig in the evening. Frankly, what was he expecting? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Krakatoa erupting, herd of Wildebeest sweeping majestically....? Anyhoo, probably one of those London idiots who isn't happy unless he's being swamped by barrow boys and ne'erdowells and pretedning there's some sort of nostalgic dignity in living in a retro-Dickensian ****-hole.

Also, in fariness to the OS, I suspect that story was published fairly early on boxing day. Mr Mohammed died on boxing day so, whilst "minor" is an unfortunate phrase to have used, I imagine the facts at the club's disposal were pretty shady at that time. They probably only had a call from Robertson saying he had a crash but wasn't hurt badly - it's not as though the poilice would have gone, "blimey, that's Jordan Robertson, he plays for Saints, we'd better give them a precis". EDIT - I see Soccermom has said virtually the same thing above!
-
Absolutely.
-
So does everyone agree with what I've said all along which is that McGoldrick is a good player but needs a strike partner?
-
Jolly good!

You can pay circa £30 for a season's subscription, I think, or you can pay monthly for about £3.95 a month.
-
I'm surprised this myth of "attractive football" is still spouted too. I haven't seen us play that for months.
-
Utterly clueless.
