  1. Thank you, that is interesting. I have therefore been to the lowest ground in English league football. Excellent.

    Please shop them.
  3. What's the lowest ground?
  4. You will all be pleased to hear that I am still quite ropey and so have decided to take tomorrow off work as well so you will have the pleasure of my company.

  6. Well that's not a "Student Loan" is it? "Student Loans" in the sense of The Student Loan Company (ie government adminstered) loans are pegged at inlfation so are real-terms neutral. Although we have had deflation this doesn't mean that negative interest charges are applied in repayment but rather that the interest charged is 0%.
  7. Well indeed. It just seems such a bizarre choice of activities in the current climate. To effectively securitise the book but without the incentive of real-terms interest bearing securities.
  8. The Student Loan Company is based in Glasgow. I presume that's who you mean? They are still the administrators of the scheme but I think they are effectively government owned.
  9. "Would you like to buy a debt with a negative return?" "Er.... no thanks."
  10. The current interest rate is 0% which is one of the reasons why I can see no commercial sense behind this!
  11. Presumably there will be some sort of regulated revenue stream paid by the government as an administration fee to whoever takes this on otherwise there is no commercial incentive at all to do it unless the sale price is massively discounted or there are plans to change the system in the future that can be capitalised on by the buyer of the book. On the face of it, what a bizarre idea from the Government.
  12. I don't think many people had that mentality, they just realised that when you are turning a team round from "utter tripe" to "pretty useful" there will probably be a period of "ho-hum" in the middle.
  13. says the four-figures Skate poster on a Saints message board. Your attendances this season are embarrasing. Petty feuds about who said what and when aside - your club is a complete joke.
  14. So let that be a lesson to anyone who thinks it's a good idea to operate a computer with their knee.
  15. Oh, I agree it's a good idea - don't get me wrong. It's just funny that we're a virile source of stock given how sheeeeiiiite we've been for the last few years.
  16. So another instance of loaning a fringe player out to a team higher up in the League! We really are the Santa of the lower leagues aren't we!?
  17. Aggghhhh!!!! It's too painful. I lasted three seconds until the chap said "Rupert Lowe" and then I had to turn it off. Why did you do that!?
  18. Where is Gobern, hadn't realised he'd gone? (sorry I'm being lazy, I'm sure this information is easily found on the OS!) Gobern has real potential IMO.
  19. I've emailed them to similar effect. If enough of us do then maybe they will!
  20. Oh, bummer TBH at least you were spared Dave Merrington's "observations"! "Saints will be wanting to score a goal now" "I just feel it's important not to concede" "It's vital to win the game" etc.
  21. I've found it pretty good (Dave Merrington excepted!). It only drops out if I'm doing something else on t'internet at the same time and even then only briefly with no need to reconnect. I'm not so far away and I do have a pretty decent bb connection though.
  22. Brilliant! I hope SFC price this really cheaply now though as I fear the attendance could suffer as a result of the broadcasting of the game. £3 for ST holders. £8 for anyone else. Under 18s free with an adult ticket holder, otherwise all concessions £4.
  23. I think that's about right. The key is to maintain the objective view of Saints as a well-run, well-supported, financially powerful club that is bound to get promoted from this league at some point soon. If we do that we will continue to be able to sign the likes of Connoly, Jaidi, Lambert, Waigo and we will get promoted at some point soon!
  24. If I went back to my mate's house after matches at the Dell we would invariably pop down to St James' Road to pick up "The Pink". Like an earlier poster, I was amazed how quickly they turned it round!
  25. The guy's not a youngster any more and needs to nail down a first team spot somewhere. Hammond has basically ended his chances of doing so with us and it is clear that AP is not mad keen to keep him. I do wish him all the best as he contributed well last season and clearly has a decent attitude.
