I think Thomas is absolute garbage as a footballer (although not his fault we paid over £1m for him) but for a bloke who has not been in the squad for the last couple of games and has been told he can leave to turn up on a crappy evening to watch the reserves I can only say fair play that man. Steve, the £14.4m figure is for the previous year's period. The figure for the 6 months ending 31 December 2007 is £11.7m.

I was talking about player's salaries, not transfer income. It's easy to find out - there's a link to the reports on the OS. I've just checked and in the 6 months ending 31 December 2007 player wages were £6.1m (so about £12m for the year, as I said).
