  1. Alpine "If he you had read the thrust of my comments properly, you will have noticed I was asking for information, not stating opinion dressed as fact. I only started making assertions because DellDays couldnt be arsed answering properly for whatever petty reason that occured to him" Alps me old shipmate. I suspect the real reason the Delldays can not respond fully to your questions and theories is basically down to signing of the Official Secrets act. Have you ever considered that is reason he cannot respond the way you want him to.
  2. Derry has your cousin been deployed previously to afghan / Iraq. I might have met him when he was doing pre-deployment medical training at Strensall a couple of years back if he did Regards Mike
  3. Badger, Queens regs will be specific on Military Discipline etc. However while it may have been a court martial that sentenced him. Im sure though not totally that the military advocate has used criminal case law sentence tarrifs for the conviction. I will do some research but I have never heard of plea bargaining in a court martial before. Given that he also had ammo . i wonder if the police military or otherwise are going to charge a certain ex military gentleman up in Orkney for possession and stealing several boxes of ammunition when he was serving which has led to the wrong conviction of another soldier. but then this gentleman was very pally and still is very pally with the detectives who did the cold call review and the original investigation. Some times law sucks and these are two cases where law sucks
  4. Come on jeff this group is protected from freedom of information requests .
  5. Common sense only prevails when it is a a terrorist or a nasty criminal . This case is not the first and will not be the last where a soldier has been hung out to dry . Danny. Michael Ross 5 marines . There are so many more .
  6. Thanks mickey . I have already signed this but will do on this site . I mentioned this on the quatada thread Danny was a good soldier one if the best . You have to be if your an sas lad . The real travesty in this case is the weapon he had was decommissioned . I hope the collie plods are treating him well . How the hell can can Danny be jailed when terrorist are released and given oodles of benefits .
  7. all we need now is for luke shaw to do the same
  8. Using animals and Pigs to practice surgery is not something new. And has been done across the globe. This training enabled surgeons to be able to carry out microneurosurgery and perfect people lifes over the years, and more recently in major trauma cases. many of the military surgeons are civilians who are part of local field hospitals that get deployed to afghan etc, The benefits of this training is immense, other wise many non conflict brain injury casualties would not have survived their injuries. Whilst the though of shooting a pig maybe barbaric to some. If my informationis correct the pigs will be annaethetised before they are shot. It used to be done at Porton some time back looking at the effect of blast injuries etc. I find the way the mass kill cattle etc in abbatoirs pretty nasty , also slitting the throats of animals to meet religious beliefs is far more horrendous than the strictly controlled process of providing pigs for surgery in Denmark I do not here the like of PETA moaning about the process of halal meat, Surgeiona practice regularly practiceneurosurgical techniques including the range of trauma craniotomies/craniectomies, EVD insertion on sheepheads etc Even Ophthalmologists perfected radial keratotomy on rabbits While it might seem unpalatable I would rather surgeons practice on real brain tissue than 4 g computer mannikins, if it means a child or an adult is to survive brain trauma how ever it is sustained
  9. Thanks Garret, now I know what they are. we have a couple up here, no good for hockey though and the school cleaners and unions are moaning as it takes ages to clean the floors from the black scuffs marksfrom these pellats
  10. What the hell is a 3g pitch . is it like a waterbased hockey pitch?
  11. I have just rang up the BBC and Jeremy Clarkson and James may are looking at new concepts of racing boys toys , They like the idea of racing subs and hope to be able to do this in due course. Trafalgars - 32kts top speed Astutes - Less than 29kts design target top speed. Vanguards 31Kts Richard Hammond says hes up for it provided he can paint his yellow So Top Gear is to be mame Top Sub
  12. Alps are you for real in fact are you the real 007 , you seem to know more about the army and Navy , than nelson, woodhouse churchill montgomery, jackson , Dunnett et al . Did you make substansive General or Admiral or were you given just acting general and admiral Any way back to Aircraft, I had the opportunity to spend 12 hours in a shackelton in the gulf in the early seventies , brilliant stuff flying around the seas of the gulf carrying out surveillance on various vessels etc. In the mid eighties I was again fortunate to spend about 8 hours in a nimrod which was carrying out similar survellance. And no I was not in the RAf, The shackelton was just briliant , noisy but to sit in the gun turrets etc . It must have been equally scary for those guys who sat in there during areal combat. And the scoff the bluejobs gave us was equally good . So my question is pound for pound which has been the uks best survelliance aircraft. I wait your answer squadron leader biggles
  13. Okay we have had the views of our resident military expert in alps. After all he is the leading authority on the army and submarines . Time to debate the effettiveness of the euro fighter vs the tornado . The euro looks really smart in the air but it deliver the goods . Personally I think the buccaneers and lightening were more pleasing to the eye . Chocs away old boy . Derry will know abit about aircraft
  14. Gazza was getting a bit if a pasting from the commentators on sky . I must admit he looked a bit shaky and was far to far out when they scored . He's only 20 but I would like to see an experienced keeper in the side .i can see what the club are trying to do . Build a very young side that will be good for a few years to come .
  15. Our keeper looks a bit nervous on occassions once he learns to command his area he is going to be a very good keeper . But he is a bit niave at times from what I have seen so far
  16. Alps is swotting up on submarines
  17. We are sky match tonight at 835 . Looking forward to that
  18. Great result and the boys in blue continue to lose
  19. Again the news over here is misleading both BBC and ITV they say 30k of irsareli reservists have been called up but it 16k , the israeli parliment has permission to call upto 30k of reservists. Another reason I despise the BBC . they minipulate the facts all the time to give the worse case scenario,
  20. Alpine you clearly love stoking the fires of hatred towards you. Tokyo is not a stalker but thats a term you use quite frequently As for the hub of the thread, I think dell days knows a lot more about subs than the guardian does and certainly more knowledge than you have accrued from the observor book on submarines for boys
  21. My agenda is to support saints through thick and thin , through rain hail and sunshine. Im an anti agendaist
  22. Thanks guys just seen the news I never knew he was called the hairy cornflake . So can we expect many more well known dj s of that era being called in for questioning ? The police are either being very meticulous or haven't a clue . Weeks ago they said they were about to arrest 9 people
  23. okay who is the hairy cornflake, give me a clue
  24. Unfortunately we are stuck with the HRA for now. I have had some disgruntled employees quoting human rights abuses re employment matters. More a threat than anything serious. but there were some employees somewhere in the UK that use the clause about forced labour becuase the supervisor or manager ordered the workers to do some work instead of sitting about smoking etc. It was rightly thrown out but it did cost the company a few bob defending and getting clarification on their claims.
  25. Not a new story. There will be a compromise. if a sikh policeman does not want o wear a turban when training or being deployed, he should sign a waver form and if something happens like being shot in the head he or his family would loose the rite to sue the police for not ensuring health and safety etc was complied with. Either you use the equipment or suffer the consequences of injury without compensation claims being made
