Saint. It's acknowledged that there are some very good conscientious teachers such as yourself equally there are some bad ones . Teachers sickness rates are high for a multitude of reasons but there are those that are not cut out for the rigours of modern day education and the attitudes of some kids and parents . Back to the strikes I have my reason for not supporting it a lot to do with the discriminatory practices some union reps have against fellow workers. some schools will not open tomorrow not because teachers want to strike but the opposite. It's because the head teacher and school janitors will be are on strike and they are the key holders and will not be there to let teachers into the school. .

You can hide that fact you are seriously depressed but when your alone the black dog comes to visit. But you somehow find an inner strength to carry on get dressed , go to work put on a brave face go home and the darkness sets in. I know I suffer the black dog syndrome. Its not nice as for suicide well as somebody has already mentioned It's all very well saying suicide isn't an option, it hurts families etc., isn't fair., but that's a rational onlooker describing someone going through something they don't comprehend, and rational thoughts go out the window. Suicide rates are very high, especially amongst young people and it needs more attention. I could say more. Only 33% of the GMB members voted to go on strike. 67% of members didnt vote This is national of those that did vote it it was not a large majority In scotland 5740 members voted of that 3146 voted for a strike and 2581 voted against with 13 spoilt papers Unite was equally close. Im not sure where GMB do their maths but they say 4-1 voted in favour of a strike So maybe it will not be two million out on strike as the media are suggesting. mind you I have some sympathy about some aspects of the changes. It will hit teachers but then they have gold plated pensions etc under the Mccrone agreement

I was shocked when I heard.I have been a mega fan of the Bee Gees when they first appeared in the late 60's Their music is vastly underated and they are as big if not bigger than the likes of the Stones Beatles etc. The Bee Gees were not about the saturday night fever stuff. but their music before and after that era. They have written songs for artists across the globe . My Grandad died of Liver cancer. They found it one day and with in 48hrs he was dead. I know others who also died from CA of the Liver. While I hope that Robin will survive I honestly think he hasnt long to live and another great musician and singer will be taken from us.

Great Post Adriansfc There is still alot of rivalry between the home nation internationals. but we do not hear much about that as in cricket its called sledging . I guess it is to with the intent of what is said. Scotland has a major problem with the bigotory card now being played The judges wil have a difficult deciding what is and what isnt bigotted singing. Some say singing the fields of athenry is bigoted. Yes the IRA use it at the funerals of their terrorist brethren and like wise the proddies. I cannot remember the alledged anthem maybe we should stop singing oh when the saints go marching in .it might just offend a few religious groups, This whole issue needs to be dealt with using common sense and not jumping to conclusions especially fuelled by the media in the UK.
