  1. Can't wait for the red-top headlines if and when they get their first win!
  2. It must annoy Bristol Rovers that they have no-one who has scored over 6 goals this season!
  3. We could have another player up there soon if Connolly carries on!
  4. Top Gear has slowly become further and further detached from the real motoring world with each series. It is still very entertaining but it should be shown on the BBC alongside another motoring program which takes itslef a bit more seriously. I personally thought 5th gear was great as it managed to combine 'proper motoring' with a bit of fun.
  5. Grey Clouds Man The Imaginarium of Mr Parnassus (Batchelor of Medicine) Kitten on a Warm Tin Roof Slightly Irritated Puppies and English Boys
  6. I think this is a virtually impossible question to answer. There are a number of quality drivers and trying to put them in order in a top 5 is uber-difficult. For the record though, I think the best 3 drivers out there at the moment are Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel though that's in no particular order.
  7. I'm not sure the likes of RBR and Brawn/Mercedes will be top 2 material next season. I think this year was a bit of a one off and I expect to see them slip to 3 and 4. I don't think the gap will be as big as it has been between the top and the midfield though which can only be a good thing. Saying that I'm really looking forward to seeing how Alonso copes with the Ferrari. It would appear to be match made in heaven but by all accounts it is very much a Marmite car to drive. (Cue possible season long sulks and an unprecidented 2nd return to Renault!)
  8. I don't think anyone neccessarily swapped allegiances. I think it's just a case that British people like to see British winners. When it was painfully obvious Lewis couldn't win the WDC then they got behind Jenson, who obviously could win it. I personally like them both and if it came down to the last lap, of the last race for the 2010 WDC I'd be stuck! I think Button might just scrape it for me though.
  9. I'm looking forward to seeing Button and Hamilton together in the same car (not literally). I've always loved watching Button drive as he's so smooth and precise but I also love the some-what 'balls out' approach of Lewis too. Will be great to see who comes out top in their personal battle with 2 relatively conflicting driving styles. I wouldn't be surprised to see the top 4 places in the Drivers Championship shared by McLaren and Ferrari in 2010.
  10. I challenge anyone to find a more girly car than one of these?
  11. No No No No No! Seriously NO! Both myself and my mate have had a 51 plate and an 02 plate Laguna and they are TERRIBLE! Nice cars to look at and nice to drive but absolute money pits. The electrics are flaky as hell snd VERY expensive to sort out. I thought xenon lights, keyless ignition, tyre pressure sensors, electric windows and electric mirrors were all great... until they started to go wrong, one by one. You are talking hundreds of pounds a time to sort out these issues and they are common. Then there's the gear box. Both of us had to replace the gear boxes in our cars when they mysteriously starting losing gears, agin, very costly. Unless you're a mechanic you're looking at 4 figures, even with a reconditioned box. If you know what's good for you, DON'T DO IT! If you're looking at this size of car go for one of these; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000-Vauxhall-Vectra-SRi-Silver_W0QQitemZ390072040871QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item5ad21afda7 They receive a bad press but we're on our 4th one now and we have never had to spend a penny on any of them other than normal running costs on consumables. It's nice to drive, quick (we've got an SRi 150 at the mo'), nice to look at (in my opinion) and parts are cheap as well. Our latest one is a 2002, 51 plate SRi 150 with full history and low mileage and cost us £1250.
  12. I thought following the Nostalgia thread on here it would be nice to start one up purely for photos. It's always great to have a look through some old pictures to see how the city has changed over the years! Here's my starter for 10. Who remembers Centre 2000?
  13. 10 years? :smt103 Might be time to try a different network as you probably don't know any better!
  14. I like O2. Fantastic network coverage and customer service has always been top notch for me. Orange are simply awful in all aspects. Their coverage is laughable for some a large network provider. My missus is on Orange so we can get the free broadband and she is forever asking to borrow my phone as she has no signal.
  15. If you want to leave O2 to go to Orange you really need your head examining... thoroughly.
  16. As a reseller and former printer engineer I always buy HP. I've not owned anything but for a number of years now. I still have an HP lasejet that is around 12 or 13 years old and it's still going strong! I also have an all-in-one business ink-jet that has proved 100% reliable for the last 3 or 4 years. Just a warning with Canons. They don't like heavy usage and are a tad fragile.
  17. I did my Mountain Bike Instructors course at Queen Elizabeths. After 3 days of very sensible riding, completing the course and getting my qualification we were then given permission to cut loose and do some knarly down hill stuff. First run down I lost the front end and one of my SPDs locked in resulting in a spectacular 'bike & rider still connected wipeout' and 2 broken ribs! How silly did I feel! The New Forest is a great place for recreational riding with some great technical stuff and hairy jumps if that's your thing. There's a lovely circular route starting from the main car park at Godshill which has always been one of my favourites. If taken easy with a pub stop on-route it will take an afternoon to do it. I have ridden full suspension bikes for a few years but made a return to hard-tails last year and got myself a new Marin Eldidge Grade. Unless you're doing some pretty knarly stuff a hard tail is definately your best option.
  18. Would like to see a McLaren shoot-out between the 2 Brits. I've always preferred JB as I think he's one of the most consitent, smoothest drivers on the grid but I also love Hamiltons ability to pull off some of the best driving you'll see. Would love to see a true British team with 2 British drivers. Red, white and blue livery next year maybe? Maybe not!
  19. Been running Windows 7 on one of our test bed PCs for a while now. I really rate it and that's coming from someone who totally detests Vista in every way imaginable!
  20. I've got a Curve 8900. It's simply the best phone I've ever had by a long stretch. I'll never have anything other than a Blackberry now. I've not had one single problem with it.

    Ladybirds

We had the same problem. It was bizarre. Must have had at least a hundred of the little buggers all round the bedroom window. I Dyson'd 'em all up and emptied them outside!
  22. I'm an IT engineer ad have been using SAS for years. No problem with it as far as I'm concerned...
  23. I think that should read: For all of you: #whooooosh#
  24. Unfortunately there are a reasonably high percentage of bikers who drive like daft ****s. Therefore the good bikers will be tarred with the same brush.
