  1. My prediction pre-season was 8th to 10th and I still stand by that. For the sake of the 'poll' I guess that makes me a 7th to 12th.

  3. Nothing wrong with Rovers but if you're buying a petrol one you must make sure they've had the head gasket done at some stage. If not it's a case of 'when' not 'if'.
  4. Well I've bucked the trend and gone for Harding as MotM. I thought he looked solid, reliable and very comfortable on the ball. I think there will be healthy competition between him and Fox this season for that left spot.
  5. My God this is terrible. Crash central! Missed the bloody goal too!
  6. That's the problem with this place now. The idiots are starting to out-number the decent people. OK, it's an unlikely rumour but some of the responses are ridiculous. Some people need to grow up and realise that being a **** only makes you popular with other ****s.
  7. Can we not just lose the 'chuck everything to do with transfers in one place' thread and start having individual threads on credible and interesting transfer subjects? I for one gave up reading the mega-thread at the top weeks ago as it's so tedious plowing through pages of crap to find posts on one particular player or rumour. Surely, with the transfer window in full operation, it's time to open up individual threads where justified?
  8. Yes I was Al - very much so! Although apparently the 1.7 is the best to drive but also the most costly to maintain. What have you got? I've had mine for a couple of months now and still loving. I don't care it it's a girls car - it's awesome fun!
  9. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-MG-ZS-TD-101-DIESEL-50-MPG-MG-ROVER-LOW-TAX-/270771554961?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f0b3e0a91 What about one of these? Left-field choice I know but I've had one and it was quick, fun to drive, economical and the engines will go on forever.
  10. Ivan Golac although my memories of him are hazy as I was only 9 or 10 at the time. In more recent times it would have to be Pahars! Not many players can claim legend status at SFC but he deserves it.
  11. Oh yes, very much so. I am maturity personified. Ask anyone. Oh... and you smell of poo.
  12. 322.7 working days. We had to get a 2nd car anyway as the wife needs one for work/school collections etc now I'm not WFH.
  13. Well Stevo, we can't all be as cool as you. One day, when you're mature enough to understand, you'll realise that very few people actually give a **** what you look like or put any real importance on it. In the mean time you just keep enjoying the work you put into your self-image. I'm sure you feel it's all worthwhile...
  14. Hard one to call Jonny. The 1998 is good and I've heard the 2000 and 2002 ones aren't bad either. Apparently 1999 wasn't a great year and the 2001 should be ignored at all costs.
  15. Well done that man! Here it is; Before anyone makes any hairdressing comments they really should try driving one. I've owned a number of fun cars over the years (Golf GTi mk1,2,3 and 4, MG ZS180 V6, MG ZR, 205 GTi etc) but this is probably the sweetest drive of the lot. It's a 1.7 and the engine, which was co-developed with Yamaha is cracking. The handling is fantastic too! I genuinely have a broad smile on my face virtually everytime I step out of it.
  16. Close but no cigar!
  17. Clue 1 - It's a 2 door Coupe.
  18. Nope. It's only got 4 seats (rather than 5).
  19. I have recently taken on a contract in Basingstoke and our Nissan Terrano was just going to be too thirsty on the daily 80 mile round commute. I didn't want to get rid of the 4x4 as we love it so it was decided I should get something more practical as a 2nd car. This meant the budget was tight at £600! I wanted something economical but most importantly, it had to have an element of fun - I just can't do boring cars! Anyway, after a few weeks of searching/bidding on eBay I secured myself a motor and my God, what a car. I've been driving it for a few weeks now and I can honestly say it's been elevated into my top 3 cars of all time. This is no mean feat when you take into account I have been driving for 20 years, have owned around 40 different cars (ranging in price from £500 to £15k) and have covered 3/4 of a million miles. It is one of the sweetest handing cars I've been in, has a cracking gearbox and is fast enough to be fun. It's got 4 seats, a big boot, does 40 mpg and costs £350 a year to insure. The car I have is a '98 with 80k on the clock, it has loads of history, is very clean, tidy and rustless and it came with 10 months MOT. It cost me £630 and to be honest, feels like all the car I'd ever need. As a footnote I'm an avid reader/subscriber of EVO magazine and they rate this car as 5 stars out of 5 and simply list the positives as 'Everything' and the negatives as 'Nothing'. Can anyone guess what it is? The correct answer doesn't win a thing...
  20. I had Jimmy Case there to start with but Lallana just swung it. His importance to us in the last 2 seasons was the influencing factor.
  21. Yes, I know it's been done a hundred times but it's alway a good close season thread. The rules are simply that you pick your all-time favourite starting XI BUT they must be players you have actually been to see playing live for Saints. TV/internet/DVD's etc do not count. You must have actually been sat in the stands watching them play in a Southampton shirt! Same rule applies for the Manager. You can choose the formation to suit. I'll get the ball rolling; I'd go for a 4-3-3 as follows; GK: Antti Niemi LB: Gareth Bale CB: Michael Svensson CB: Mark Wright RB: Ivan Golac RM: Danny Wallace CM: Adam Lallana LM: David Armstrong ST: Matt LeTissier ST: Mick Channon ST: Alan Shearer Manager: Lawrie McMenemy Adam Lallana is probably my only really controversial choice as I am aware that we've had better central midfielders. I just feel he's been an outstanding player for us in the last few seasons and we'd had been truly lost without him! An SFC legend in the making... I hope.
  22. I was just thinking this!
