Yep. There's a massive difference between home and away dressing rooms. The mirrors are still there and they place the baths facing each other so the away team have to watch their colleagues washing their bits too! No electric points for them to plug their iPods/docking stations in either. There are benches and hooks for the away team and back-lit, cushioned individiual cubicles for home. The home one is also 2-3 times the size of the away one.

Not bad as far as kit's go but that in no way represents Southampton FC. Bit of a shame really. It would have been ok with black shorts and white socks...

My God, we've become Liverpool!

Not another feckin' Butt!

Although I'm now 100% retired from competitive football I could be up for a forum kick-about. God knows I need the exercise!

It was lovely playing on that training pitch at Preston. Just a shame it rained so hard you couldn't see the ball coming towards you!

Dagenham & Redbridge for me. A great day out and really surreal playing a league game in a ground like that. You couldn't help the laugh at the old guy taking 50p's off us and putting them in a plastic cup so we could access the mixed supporters club. The Dagenham fans were great as well. They loved the fact they were playing a team like Saints in a league tie. Will never forget it and despite the fact we're now 'back in the big time' I'll always look back at those times with much fondness.

I had my ST in Block 2 until it was closed and it's the best part of the ground by far. There were a real good bunch of lads there when I was and there was always a good assortment of classic Saints songs too. The atmosphere is great as you're staring the away fans in the eyes which always makes for some good singing banter. It was generally a 'sitting area' before unless it was a big game like Pompey or things were getting particulary heated with the away fans!

Absolutely 100% agree with you there.

Started at The Alex, onto The Pensioners for some great old school songs, topped off with a celebratory curry. What a day...

The Moment you knew the Northam wasn't for you anymore
Son of Bob replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
I've only sat in the Northam 3 times and always found it crap TBH. I've sat in the Itchen North since we moved to SMS and my ST was in block 2 until they made the shocking decision to close it. Still, hopefully it will reopen next season when we're back in the Premier League. -

He delivered our mail until recently. -
You'll be surprised. I bet there'll be a few!

Quite like this one too; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OLD-SAINTS-STADIUM-STREET-SIGN-LAPEL-PIN-BADGE-GIFT-/170609681411?pt=UK_SportsMemorabilia_Football_Memorabilia_ET&hash=item27b9212403

I predict a modern interpretation of this for our next kit;

I got a new one the other day from a guy in the Northam Social Club which is nice (but maybe not to everyone's taste!). It's a white Adidas shell-toe trainer with 3 red stripes and a Saints badge on the tongue. I liked it as I'm a huge fan of old skool adidas originals but some may thinks its a bit tacky. It's very small and discreet.

What about "He's thinner than Frank Lampard".
-
I hope it will be this Saturday!

Not sure? Is it? Hadn't really thought about it in that context.

I can't see why people wouldn't want to go to this one really. It's the most excited I've been about an away game for years. Can't wait!

I was just wondering what the Saints Fashion Police (no names mentioned) feel about pin badges? Are they acceptable? Personally, I wear one on my coat to games and I feel that is fine. Saying that, I certainly don't advocate the 'Pearly King' look. Thoughts?

It can only be considered a derby game if both teams are covered by The Pink.

I do like a rendition of that in the Itchen North.
