I know what's been going on more and more. The boring bickering between fans with nothing better to do than flex their verbal cyber muscles is what's slowly sufficating this forum. But, hey-ho, that's just the way it is. One day me might try the fresh approach of debating football matters with intelligent conversation rather than playground sniping. Then again...

Because it's feckin' boring?

I've been a Saints fan for 30 years and in that time there haven't been that many seasons where I've been in a position (personally or financially) to get a season ticket. When I've been able to I have and it's great to have the ritual of sitting in your own seat game in, game out but for some of us it's not a reality any more. I have a young daughter and a wife who works as a Retail Manager and is required to work alternate weekends. This means getting an ST now days would be a total waste of money as I wouldn't be able to get to half the games. As it is I manage about half our home games a season and 3 or 4 away days and if that makes me plastic, then I'm proud to be so. The act of waving a season ticket at people who cannot attend every game is indicitive of the kind of knuckle dragging moron who doesn't have a clue about the real world in which some people live.

Absolutely agree. I've been a masive fan of Adidas Originals trainers for years now but I'm even starting to go off those as they seem to have become the uniform of choice now.

Oh how things have changed. My Dad was invited to travel to and from Wembley on the team coach in '76. Imagine that happening now!

Wore a home shirt to the JPT Final and an away shirt to the FA Cup final. May have worn that white 3rd kit thing with the red collar to the FA Cup semi as well but can't really remember. To be honest I can't remember much about that day at all! Other than that... no.

Where's Granty???

If only my Turkish friend. I have a young daughter and a wife that works alternate Saturdays so a season ticket would be an expensive, under-used luxury. I can only get to half the home games and a handful of aways every season so can't really justify it. Of course, if I was a super fan like you I'd just lock my daughter in her bedroom and leave her home alone!

Could only get 3 seats together in the Chapel now. Looks like there's going to be a good turn-out for this one (no surprise I guess!). I've got a question though. If they open the Itchen North could I transfer my tickets there? .
-
I'll give you £40 for it.

Chaplow has been a revelation so he gets my vote. He's still a little loose with his passing at times but other than that he's been spot on.

Oh dear. You need to take yourself a little less seriously my friend.

I've just has a call from St Marys. They want me to be Assistant Manager or something? What should I do?

Do I get paid a consultancy fee!

I have to admit I love this song. Coldplay had gone off the boil in recent years but this is a return to form.

I think the line has been clearly drawn across the board with the League Cup. It should come as no surprise to anyone that clubs play weakened sides in this competition as it's quite publicly become 'The Reserves Cup'. It started with only the biggest clubs fielding weakened teams but now that is filtering down to the Championship sides and beyond. Is this a bad thing or is this 'tradition' of fielding teams of youngsters and fringe players actually a positive? That's another argument for another day!

I'm not convinced. I don't think he'll be fully match fit for a while and in any case, given the chance, I think Guly has a genuine shout at being first choice up front alongside Ricky. He's certainly not a natural winger that's for sure.
-
From what I've seen in the last few games I think it's time to give Guly a run of games up front. Connolly has been largely ineffective of late and De Ridder looks good enough to be given a start on the wing. I thought he looked great playing slightly deeper behind Lambert and given time to settle in that role he could score for fun. I reckon he'd thrive on those quick one-two's we seem to like playing so much.

Thought he had a great game last night. On the strength of that performance AL could find it hard to get his place back!

The thing is we have a massive catchment area that takes in some relatively big towns and cities including Winchester, Romsey, Eastleigh, Totton and Salisbury. I work in Basingstoke and it's amazing how many Saints fans there are there as well. Add the populations of all these places up and it's not really surprising we could attract 30-40k for a home game in the Premier League.
-
We have the same problem. Our house is Victorian and still has some very old wiring in places so we've put is down to that. Very annoying all th esame. Think this should be in the Lounge though. Not very Saints related!
-
I think it's great. The less 'Murdoch money' there is the game the better. The stupid amounts of cash that are injected into the Premier League by the TV companies are the root of what's ruining the modern game. The downside is that with reduced cash flow, clubs are going to have to make serious cuts in their spending and the area that will be impacted most is wage structure. Wage bills are going to have to be cut and in the long term this means player salaries will have to come down (in itself this is no bad thing!). Trouble is, how do you completely overhaul the pay structure of the biggest sport on the planet?

+2 It's not often someone suggests a new chant with real potential but you gotta love that one!
