The thing that really ****es me off about the lack of ambition at our club is that it has been now more than two years since Cortese arrived and we still haven't won the UEFA Champions League. Frankly, he needs to decide if he really wants to run a football club or not because this is not a job for a part-timer with no ambition.

CB Fry. Pure quality, and had a great mustache.

thanks, that is what I was getting at. Of course I realize that a player can't actually be loaned until he is under contract to a club. -

sure it does! I'm asking what the rules are concerning a club signing a player who is not currently signed to any club. Is it classified as a 'transfer' and therefore against the rules to happen outside the transfer windows. And if so, could the player just loan himself to the club until the window opens. I guess the question is, would the league allow him to be registered or not. I'm talking in the abstract, not necessarily about this chap. -
our weakness this season will be keeping everyone fit and healthy. Lest we forget, the Championship is a grueling hard-playing league. The tackles will be going in hard and we are now squad size limited. That is the really challenge this season, keeping legs and ankles from getting hurt. That and the pasties. The pasties always let the club down.

question: is a club allowed to sign a free-agent outside the window? If a player is not with a club then it wouldn't technically be a 'transfer'. Or he could just loan himself to the club. -
sure looks like a polar bear to me. But the one on the MALI logo looks like a koala.

With the greatest respec' to the late Mr Liebherr, but WTF had he to do with polar bears?

Just saw this on South Today. All I have to say is: "OI. Scousers. Hands off our liners. Thieving blighters. Take my tax money, build a liner terminal and then steal our (privately docked) ships? Fek off, you dirty ****s. -

I agree. Nought against Hammond but have always believed that captains should be able to see the whole picture from defense and be strong leaders/communicators too. Fonte has both in spades. Unless no other options GKs don't have the ability to communicate - purely because of where they are - and so should be avoided as on-field skippers.

Nope, actually not. I was pretty sure he would not go mid-season - or to put it better, allowed to go. Price is always better in summer. I hope to God I am wrong. I really do. But I just can't see him staying if a top prem club comes knocking with 10-12 big ones. I know we might not need to sell him, I know all the arguments about NC not needing the cash etc. But sorry, when push comes to shove and someone offers you the same amount of dosh you paid for the club in the first place (albeit before debt repayment) then the human thing is to take the cash. Like I said, home I am wrong. He was just about breaking into full bloom last half of last season, he would be triffic in the champ. Maybe we can convince him to stay - use examples of Gareth B and Theo W as examples of two lads who cut their clothe in the champ first before moving on to pastures green.
