Poor captaincy by Jimmy Adams today against Durham - leaving it too late to bring Tanvir back - we urgently need wickets. Durham are doing this easily at the moment.

I was away working in Italy until 21 June and thought the deadline was at the end of the day (it was 5 pm). Panic stations - tried to renew online but it wouldn't work so tried phoning but answerphone kept saying everyone was busy - phone back later. Missed deadline so sent email and then tried on the ticket line this morning at 9.30 am. Given complete brush off by someone called Ben (who apparently is based in Devon with the ticket agency) - told to try on 1 July at the higher rate but no guarantee of my seat. Could not have cared less about the problems I had faced. I then tried the customer services and a very sympathetic bloke sorted everything out with the minimum of fuss. Could not have been more helpful - complete opposite of Ben in Devon. Well done customer services - very good for Saints' reputation (unlike the agency in Devon).

What we did was complete madness! There was never any realistic chance of getting 411. We would have done better to bat the first innings, get a couple of batting points and then allow them to set us a target in the final couple of session tomorrow. The fact that we couldn't win the last game was bad enough but this was much worse. Simply dreadful.

Well I am afraid your backing of Hants was a bit misplaced. We were made to look very silly - and I think that Adam's decision was very silly and his contribution was another duck. We were outplayed in all departments and even in the negotiations between the teams. Lamentable.

We are 76 for 5 chasing 411!! I think this must rank as one of the daftest decisions I can remember a Hampshire captain making. I am sorry but I don't think Adams is up to the job.

I listened to quite a lot of it today and it was all a bit predictable - a few dropped catches in the slips and the bowling did not sound impressive. We will do well to hang on in this match I fear. It is not going well this season.

I hope that by winning this it doesn't increase the chances of big money clubs coming to buy!
