  1. myp2p.eu is a good source of streams but it's not on there at the moment. I try and use the streaming lounge but nothing on there yet either. It's champions league tonight so doubtful there is anywhere showing saints i'm afraid
  2. I'd be chuffed with a point after the last 3 games. I'd go 4-5-1. The midfield has seemed light weight both defensively and going forward this season. Without Lallana we won't create a lot so forget about goals from midfield and just pack it out to help the defensive side of things. Bit of a risk with only a half fit Lambo upfront on his own but we haven't looked like scoring with 2 strikers recently so i'm all for a Rangers style defensive approach. Nick a point here then 3 on saturday and it's happy days again!
  3. That's brilliant
  4. Sorry to post a reply that is actually about the charity event but does anyone know roughly how much was raised yet? From the little I know the type of care that Kevin Moore is getting isn't cheap and sadly I doubt he will get any better so it'll only put more burden on his family financially and emotionally so I hope a fair amount was raised that can ease that burden a little. Is there a place we can make/send donations to?
  5. Agree with 3 out of 4. Not sure why anyone would owe NC an apology though. As you say we don't know why AP was sacked so can't tell if it was warranted or not. My opinion hasn't changed though and still think it was wrong - I just don't think you should sack a manager unless results are going against you. Anyway none of that matters now and that argument has been done to death. NA should get everyone's support regardless from now on and hopefully he can pull a few rabbits out the hat with loans ASAP as we need pace, creativity and goals from midfield and we nowt at the moment. I hope he has enough time before MkDons to rebuild some of the spirit that appears to have gone from the team the past few games and get off to a flier.
  6. My intial view was one of anger towards NC. Now the dust has settled I am still really cheesed off. Before this mess I thought NC had done 80% good, 20% bad now it's the other way round. It all hinges on who he appts as the new manager. It will show a real statement of intent as far as NC's intended strategy for the club. If he goes for someone like Phil Brown then for me it shows he is prepared to work with someone who knows their own mind and will mould the development of the club around them, go for an unproven manager and to me it would show that he just wants a piece to fit into his neat little football development centre jigsaw. If he gets it right, and whatever the initial reaction only time will tell, then he will have my support again. Hiring and firing a manager is the only really important decision a chief exec will make imo. I don't believe the Pardew sacking was premeditated as we would have someone in post now so it must be something fairly sudden and the fact that 3 have gone and only wilkins remains would suggest that there was a 'them & us' situation developing which couldn't be sustained. I don't buy all this he was doing Fonte's missus stuff otherwise the other 2 must've been as well! There was obviously some friction between NC & AP as if there was a 'them & us' problem then I would expect the chairman to back the manager. He is more important than any coach or player
  7. I think you could probably make a case for comparing most chairmen to RL and indeed NC. They do have a tendency to make unpopular/bizarre decisions. Probably a control thing. The original post is interesting tho in that the timescale it has taken NC to become that unpopular is remarkably quick. However Lowe made some pretty unpopular decisions in his first few years - replacing Souness with Jones raised some eyebrows (jones was totally unproven at a higher level) and the way Jones dismissal was handled reflected badly on the club but then BAM! out he comes with Hoddle and all is forgiven. It was only when he made several bad appointments on the trot (Sturrock followed by Wigley followed by you know who) that the wheels started to come off. I think NC could afford to get it wrong with this appt but only if he acts quickly when it appears it is going wrong which RL, to give him some credit, usually did. This is what saved his bacon a few times.
  8. Looking at the list of odds has me quite worried. Apart from M o'N (who won't be interested) then the only name that would please me is Tony Mowbray. Epic fail at Celtic but did well with Baggies and plays good football which may be what NC is looking for. Zola can eff off frankly, I'd rather take Eddie Howe or Paul Tisdale as at least they have knowledge of lower league footy. But if we did appoint either of those it would be a big step backwards and a massive risk
  9. Like many people I wouldn't have been surprised had pardew got the sack this season. I half expected it after the Plymouth game. I am though hugely disappointed and really angry with NC for this. It's doubtful we'd get O'Neill and Coppell has now retired from footy so who is out there that is better than Pardew? I'm not sure this decision has anything to do with on the pitch results (NC would be an idiot to think last season was a complete failure and that 3 games was an acceptable timescale to give someone this season to prove their worth) but more likely to do with the longterm vision/structure of the club. If AP didn't like it then there was only ever going to be one winner. The big problem I (and I suspect many other fans) have is I don't really give a toss about the behind the scenes set-up and a new state of the art training facility etc. I want out of this league and I thought Pardew was the man for the job. Results last season proved he could at least get to the playoffs (ignoring -10) whilst building a team. Getting a new man in who fits nicely into the new set-up is not the way forward imo and smacks of some of Lowes managerial appts where he tried to dabble with the managerial set-up and it backfired spectacularly.
  10. What about asking Delays? They're saints fans. Had a few top 40 hits. Have played the Guildhall a couple of times so should attract a decent crowd
  11. Article in Sunday Times by Rod Liddle http://http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/columnists/rod_liddle/article6036576.ece Slags us off alot but can't disagree with his sentiments. This is probably how the rest of the football world thinks about us as well
  12. Have to say me and my mates were moaning about the people that leave early as well but abusing them takes it to a whole different (and unjustifiable, imo) level. However there is a massive difference between fans leaving early in protest and fans leaving early to beat the traffic which I see at every game. I could not believe the streams of people leaving at 2-3 with 4 mins of injury time to go. Absolutely mind boggling. Why go to football if you're happy to miss possibly an equaliser or a last minute winner just because you don't want to spend 15 mins in a traffic queue. Pointless. (Just my opinion though!) The 'plastic' fans chants are out of order as well. It costs, most games, £26 just for a ticket to go to a game. Factor in a programme, food & drink and 1 person can spend £35 to go and watch 90 mins of utter rubbish (which it has been for the last 2 yrs). It's no wonder that loads of fans aren't turning up for most games. It's just not value for money.
  13. If we get a goal in the first 20 mins we'll get something today. i'm going to say 1-1. I am always wrong though.....
  14. Spot on! The football recently has been on a par with most of last season. Think alot of the national media ought to come down to St Mary's and have a look at how we play - play well for first 20 mins then the oppo suss us out and coupled with what appears to be a complete drain in confidence when we don't score the away team take control and we look clueless for the remaining 70 mins Glad that we are starting to get a bit more coverage nationally though. Can only increase the pressure on the board

    Wilde

Er...aren't we 3 places worse off than where Pearson finished? Seem to recall finishing 5th from bottom not 3rd from bottom. I agree we will never know what pearson whoud've achieved at Saints but he deserved a chance. He had a large chunk of supporters behind him and Lowe didn't give a monkeys. Instead he (& Wilde) chose a guy who was utterly out of his depth and forced his hand into playing the kids. How anyone can justify that as being in the best interests of the club is beyond me. The fact Wilde has the nerve to come out and defend what has happened shows how delussional he (and probably the rest of the board) are. The football club is 2nd bottom of the 2nd tier of English football. The PLC may well be performing marginally better so maybe he shoud've said he has the best interests of the PLC and the shareholders at heart not the football club as they are 2 different things in my opinion
  16. Re the bit about Saga going out on loan again - don't think he can as he has now played for 2 clubs this season so not allowed to play for another. maybe wrong but think it's a relatively recent rule. Which means as we are paying his wages we may as well play him. I am (stupidly) optimistic his goals can get us out of the brown sticky stuff. Bit like Stern last season.
  17. Have just the best part of an hour reading through this whole thread and can't believe how negative or apathetic some people are to this idea. The vast majority of us want the same thing (Lowe/Wilde out) and frankly anything people want to organise that can help force the issue gets my support whether it's a march, flying a plane with a banner over the stadium, boycotting a game or whatever. I'm doubtful more than a couple of hundred will join in this march but it's better than nothing and its a good starting point. Hopefully it can build a bit of momentum for the Sheff U & Preston games. I think a concerted effort til the end of the season is needed to try and effect any change so maybe do something different each game? March this week, boycott the next etc. Easier said than done i know A couple of questions for the organisers - have you got police go ahead for this? (didn't think they could stop a group of people meeting in a public place). Have you tried getting Leon Crouch on board? Would help raise the profile a bit more (apologies if these questioned have already been answered but it's early and i'm hungover!)
